A bit trite and overdone. Tired plot though I liked the characters. Unfortunately, though, I'm just not into the author's world.

With all of the popular EMP and end of the world TV series on now, this genre of books is everywhere I look. That is not a bad thing. The problem is picking out the good from the bad. When I read Grace Hamilton's first "Surviving" book, I knew I'd have to read the whole series. The cast from the first book, at least those that lived, are back and trying to figure out the safest journey to take them out of the chaos. As they carefully make their way back to the swamp, they will face many, many obstacles.

Grace Hamilton is a new go-to author for me. I get sucked into her books and while I sometimes disagree with how to characters try and survive, I'm thoroughly invested in the characters and their journey. Can't wait for the next book.
