Another nail biting, suspenseful read from Lisa Harris! I enjoyed the characters and the suspense. The action is non stop and kept me up late reading!
Deadly Intentions was an intense read! I was pulled into the story from the first few pages on - it was so good!
I really liked the characters and how the romance progressed...it wasn't too fast and seemed natural. The suspense was good and fast-paced. I wanted to keep reading to find out what was really going on and how things would end.
All in all, Deadly Intentions was a really good read. The ending was nice, although a little predictable. Recommend for fans of romantic suspense.

Lisa Harris delivers nail-biting, heart-pounding suspense in Deadly Intentions.
Research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey's suspicions are raised when a friend and co-worker supposedly commits suicide. Knowing the woman as she did, she cannot believe she would do that. Then, she starts to realize that nearly everyone who had worked on the same project with her friend had died, either in an "accident" or in a "home invasion". When she is nearly killed in a hit-and-run car accident, she knows her questions caught the wrong person's attention. Who will believe her and help investigate her suspicions?
Detective Josh Solomon's wife, Olivia, returned early from a business trip, and was killed in a home invasion. He believes they caught the men who killed her. They admit to the area thefts, though, but they refuse to admit to her murder. A year out from his tragic loss, his grief still holds him hostage. When a co-worker of his wife's comes to him with an implausible story, can he help her find the truth, or will they both put themselves in a killer's crosshairs?
Harris begins ramping up the suspense from page 1 of this story, and has it screaming by the time the book ends.
Readers who enjoy their suspense with just a touch of romance, will enjoy Deadly Intentions. I know I did!
Deadly Intention by Lisa Harris
Lisa Harris is one of my all-time favorite author. If you read Deadly Intention she will be your favorite too. Deadly Intention is a excellent book. It is intriguing, suspenseful, and romantic. I was pulled into the book from the very first page. The main two characters are Josh and Caitlyn. The book starts with the murder of Josh's wife. They work together to solve several murders. They are so loveable, down to earth, likable. It will be hard for you to put down, it was for me. I recommend you and others to read this excellent book!
I give this a 5 out of 5 star's!

Lisa Harris has long been a must-read author for me. Her romantic suspense keeps me turning the pages. Deadly Intentions was no exception. This one is a book club selection and I anticipate a lively discussion. There’s plenty to like — fast-paced action, an intriguing and timely plot, and characters that capture the heart. It gets a recommended rating from me.
Main characters Caitlyn Lindsey and Josh Solomon are brought together when the facts around the murder of Josh’s wife a year before and two other deaths seem to point to nefarious goings-on at the lab where Caitlyn works. The connection is confirmed as Caitlyn and Josh both have targets on their backs. As they work together to uncover just what is going on, danger escalates. The two don’t know who to trust, and this reader agreed! I suspected everyone had a hand in the attacks and murders. While a chemistry develops between Caitlyn and Josh, I found their reticence to become romantically involved was good for them as characters and for the book’s story trajectory. The two had a lot of baggage to work through as well as bullets to dodge! 😉 I have to note that there is a virus/vaccine angle to the book, making it a timely read. (I didn’t find it triggering though.) Trust and abandonment are two themes that run throughout the book. Both characters are believers and their faith grows with the trials they face.
Deadly Intentions was a fast-paced and intense read. I could not put it down! Another winner from Harris.
Recommended.
Audience: Adults.
Deadly Intentions is full of wow! Action, intrigue, and murder made this non-stop romantic suspense and engaging read. If you love a good murder mystery with murder woven in you will love Deadly Intentions. Thanks for the great book Lisa Harris.
Ms. Harris has a way of grabbing the reader's attention and taking you through the story. I always know that it will be great read as this one is.
Deadly Intentions by Lisa Harris is a solid suspense read. It chronicles the investigation of a woman who suspects she is next in a cover up related to her work. She enlists the help of a man also impacted by this. With solid suspense and a fairly good moving story, I think this book would definitely be enjoyed by readers of this genre. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
I have always enjoyed books by Lisa Harris, and this one was no different. From the detective's tragic loss at the beginning of the book to every twist and turn along the way it was a wonderful story. Well done!!!
This book started out with action and heartbreak, but I had trouble getting into it after that. I think the author did a fabulous job tackling several hard issues: the loss of a spouse/friend, work expectations, betrayal, and more. There were twists and turns throughout the plot that I flat out didn't see coming. The author is immensely fabulous in her plot and doing the unexpected.
I think my issue was not relating to the characters very well. I connected with Josh but not Caitlyn. That being said, I still immensely enjoyed the book and will read future books by Ms. Harris as she is one of my authors to watch for!
Overall it was a 4/5 for me.

Another winner by Lisa Harris...this novel will captivate your senses from page one...and will not relent until the final page. Enjoy the ride!
When one of your colleagues is killed in a home invasion, it’s easy to think it’s a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But when three of your colleagues die in a year, then someone tries to run you off the road, then it’s easy to start thinking something more suspicious is happening.
Catilyn Lindsey works for a pharmaceutical company, and she’s getting suspicious. She gets even more suspicious when someone runs her car off the road and she barely survives. Caitlyn persuades Josh Solomon, a police detective who is also the widower of the first of Caitlyn’s colleagues to die, to help her investigate. Josh isn’t convinced at first, but it doesn’t take long before the inconsistencies pile up.
Someone is clearly after Caitlyn, and it doesn’t take long before Josh is in trouble too. It’s a great ticking clock chase novel, as Caitlyn and Josh work to find the evildoer … and find the truth.
Deadly Intentions was typical Lisa Harris, a fast-paced thriller with strong and intelligent characters. It definitely kept me turning the pages (well, flicking the forward button on the Kindle) to get to the end and make sure Caitlyn and Josh both survive …
There is also a romantic thread, and that’s possibly more compelling than the suspense thread. Josh is obviously a widower who lost his wife in tragic circumstances. But Caitlyn has her own issues as well, and one of the strengths of the novel is watching her work through those issues, with Josh’s help. There is also a strong Christian element, as both Caitlyn and Josh are Christians who have to work through where God is in the tough times.
Overall, Deadly Intentions is just what Christian romantic suspense should be. It’s a great suspense plot, a heroic hero and a hardworking and intelligent heroine, both with a desire to seek justice and put God and others first. Recommended.

When Caitlyn Lindsey is convinced that her life is in jeopardy she can think of only one person to trust that may can possibly help.
Detective Josh Solomon is trying to get past a home invasion that took his wife. When he receives an unexpected call from Caitlyn stating his wife's death may have been a murder. Caitlyn and Josh must try to solve the mystery and stay alive in the process.
This novel is packed full of suspense, mystery, police work and some romance.
Fast paced suspense!
This was a great story that starts action packed and doesn't slow down. Great plot twists and unexpected turns will keep you turning the pages quickly. The characters are great and the ups and downs they face feel very realistic.
I always enjoy reading stories by Lisa Harris and this one does not disappoint. I highly recommend this book!

Story Notes
Lisa Harris delivers a story of suspense that is intended to be very intense but falls a little flat in its development.
For the most part, I enjoy Lisa Harris’ books. However, I think her latest book is a little too cliche and reminiscent of the Bourne Legacy to really be considered an original story. This book begins with the suspicious death of Caitlyn Lindsay’s research facility colleague. While others might see it as a suicide, Caitlyn is convinced it is one of a series of suspicious deaths that began over a year ago. Not sure of why her co-workers were targeted, Caitlyn begins digging into the project that they were all apparently working on. But her search will bring the attention of those responsible to rest on her, earning her a hit-and-run encounter that could have ended her life. Reaching out to Detective Josh Solomon seems to be her best option, given the other investigators have given her the same old excuses for not investigating further. Josh has finally began healing from the tragic death of his wife when her former coworker comes bursting into his life with claims that her death was not a robbery gone wrong but the first of several murders of the same research team. Disbelief wars with his gut suspicions as Josh was never fully in agreement with the explanation he was given a year ago. Not all the evidence added up but without being able to really investigate the crime, Josh had to trust that other’s had done their job correctly. When the explanation that Caitlyn brings him starts making sense and is combined with ongoing threats against her, Josh agrees to take another look at the recent deaths. But the ones behind it all are not people who will let this happen without a fight to stay hidden. Caitlyn and Josh will have to combine all their research and investigative skills to discover the culprit before anyone else dies. There were plenty of really great plot pieces and the characters were decent enough but the play out of it all was a little stale. It felt like reading a story I’d already read after seeing a movie I’d seen before. Not that the basic plot of most stories isn’t the same but I do expect an author to give it a fresh look or fresh twist to make it exciting. The characters were fairly good and I liked their separate and joined journeys toward forgiving themselves and exploring a relationship together. I just wish there had been a breath of fresh air in their story so it didn’t come across as canned and somewhat flat. I will still recommend this story but will pass along the understanding that I didn’t think it was very original. Hopefully Ms. Harris’ next book will be much better.

There aren't too many good Christian romantic suspense novels out there. Usually the love story isn't really believable if the suspense is high or there's no suspense and a good love story. Or the story is clearly only made up to transport the message. Lisa Harris does a good job: high suspense, believable beginning love story and prayers and thoughts of faith interwoven believably.
Trying to find out the truth about three deaths ends up being framed for the death of Olivia and a police officer. And the situation gets worse and worse. It's quite unusual that the main characters would use illegal methods to find the truth and to save their lives.
Three suspicious deaths, one company, one project; and he did not believe in coincidences. Josh Solomon had not seen the problem, but his wife’s colleague, Caitlyn Lindsey did and together they would need to pull together the evidence to demonstrate the very real, not theoretical, issue of bioterrorism in Houston, Texas.
Lisa Harris has written a faith-based, romantic, thriller, that this reader could not put down. The mix of science, mystery, and bioterrorism, make the author’s latest book one of her best.
Whether one is looking for a great fall read, a book to add to the church or local public library, or as a gift for an avid reader, Deadly Intentions may just fill the bill

This is a suspenseful, intense story in which the two main characters, Josh and Catilyn, are running for their lives and have no idea who to trust. The action begins on the very first page and there’s never a chance to catch your breathe until the story’s conclusion. This is a terrific storyline and. I developed empathy for these two characters. This story has twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, which made it an absorbing story to read. If you love Christian suspense fiction, you will love this story.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions own.
Deadly Intentions by Lisa Harris centers around scientific research company whose employees seems to fall victim to bizarre accidents, suicides, and robberies. Is it all coincidence, or part of a cover up for a sinister plot? Caitlin Lindsay begins to think something is going on when her car is nearly run off of the road. She reaches out to Josh Solomon, a detective and widower of another employee, to investigate her suspicions. Josh is not convinced, that something is afoul, but the evidence and then the danger begins to mount. Harris once again has created a solid romantic suspense novel that is excellent for a cozy read on the couch.
I received a ARC of this book in exchange for an honest , unbiased, and uncompensated review.
Deadly Intentions was deadly boring. I regret having to write such a blatant negative critique.
My analysis:
*Flat, one dimensional characters. I didn’t connect with either protagonist. I love character driven plots, and while this story solely revolved around the characters, they did not propel the story along. This was due to the fact that they were not dynamic characters and the majority of their interaction was dialogue. And more dialogue. WAY too much dialogue interaction and not enough action propelling the plot. The dialogue was basically the same: reiterating the same things over and over that the reader KNEW! This resulted in slowing the pace terribly. I had to begin skimming to get to something “new”.
* SHOW, NOT TELL writing technique not evident. The reader is TOLD of events in lieu of SHOWN the events via descriptive writing, No mental pictures or imagery is developed for the reader; therefore, interest wanes due to the recording of facts instead of the development of suspense as the action and tension builds . For example, we were TOLD of the accident, the murder (s)..... like reading a crime piece in a newspaper, it doesn’t necessarily evoke emotion because of the dry delivery. In a book, the key is for the reader to be engaged in the story.
* INCREDULOUS & INAUTHENTIC. Not only were the main characters duds, but all the characters were not authentic ( except for the minor character private eye! He sounded like he had potential, but played a minor yet pivotal role. I wish there would have been m ore about his interesting character!) . The FBI was never called in? The CDC? State police? If they were suspicious of anyone and everyone, it would have been more credible to go to a higher level of authority. Incredulous. Furthermore, tackling a conspiracy by themselves is ridiculous and not credible.... especially since anyone involved is killed. Also ridiculous is the one clue given to the reader early on- a picture discovered and never acted upon. I, as the reader , knew THAT PICTURE depicted something kinky, yet no one investigated the connection of the people in the picture until the end???? Incredulous.
There are other annoying aspects, but these are the major Deltas. I realize this author is popular, but there are other authors who write clean, faith based novels that hold my interest. I am interested in the Christian fiction genre and discovering new authors in this genre, but regrettably, this author won’t be one of them,
