I was in the middle of doing my chores and wanted to take a break. So, I decided to read a chapter of Lisa Harris’ new release, Deadly Intentions. Well, my break lasted a little bit longer, as I did not get back up until I read the very last page of this book. What a fabulous read! I could not put it down.
Deadly Intentions is by far my favorite that I have read by this author. I am giving it a well deserved five plus stars. It is so very good. I highly recommend it.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Pub Date 06 Aug 2019

I am reviewing a copy of Deadly Intentions through Revell and Netgalley:

Caitlyn Lindsey Is a research scientist who becomes convinced that someone is taking her team out one by one. First she looses a friend and research partner, killer in a home invasion, just three months ago her boss was killed in a suspicious car accident. Just four days ago another partner supposedly committed suicide. And now Caitlyn herself has miraculously survived a hit-and-run. Afraid for her life with nowhere to turn, she reaches out to one of the victim's husbands, Detective Josh Solomon.

Despite the fact that Josh was initially skeptical about Caitlyn’s theory, he soon realizes that the attack on his wife was far from random. Now the two of them must discover the truth about who is after Caitlyn's team--and what their end game is--before it's too late.

If you are looking for a gripping Christian Suspense then Deadly Intentions is just the book for you. I find this book worthy of five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

When three co-workers die in a short amount of time, Caitlyn can’t help but be suspicious. When she survives a car accident, she wonders if she’s next on the list and turns to Josh Solomon, a homicide investigator and husband to one of her now deceased coworkers. Together they try to figure out what’s going on. Little do they know what secrets will be unearthed and who will do anything to keep them from being revealed.

There is a great sense of danger and urgency. You can feel the ticking of the clock as they race to get answers. It’s a hard book to put down.

It was interesting learning more about the development of vaccines and what can sometimes happen. It was just enough information to pique my interest and not so much that it bogged down the story. I like that.

If you like suspense and mystery books, I’d recommend this one. It’s a good read. Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Having read books by Lisa Harris in the past, I have first-hand experience with how well she can tell a story. This one grabbed my attention from the first page with an interesting plot that was different from any I have read in the past.

Lisa definitely knows how to increase the level of tension, so that I have a hard time putting her books down. I can read one of them in only a few days because I’m not getting anything else done! Her characters leap off the pages, and I honestly feel as if I know them. I really like the main characters in this book, and I love how the author had them grow closer as the book went on. I also can emphasize with how they felt about the difficult situation they found themselves in, because through Lisa’s words, I have a really good sense of how their circumstances affect them.

This is Christian fiction at its best with characters who rely on God. I also love that it is a clean book. 5 stars all the way!

Lisa Harris has a way of being able to pull you into a story from the beginning and hold you captivated until the very end. This story is no different. Another fantastic, fast-paced, suspense read that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Ever since I read my first Lisa Harris book (Ghost Heart, written with Lynne Gentry) and was 'blown away' by it, I have eagerly awaited new releases from this author. Deadly intentions did not disappoint. It is razor-sharp action throughout, suspense that does not let up, and a sweet romance that gently unfolds as the story progresses. The characters are strong and complex and yet realistic and relatable, people you would want to be your friends (or not, in the case of the 'bad guys'). The plot has twists and turns that keep interest high and immediately draws you into the lives of Josh and Caitlyn. His wife's death could not be undone so why get involved with Caitlyn's suspicions? Caitlyn had always gone with the flow but now she'd be a fool if she thought things were going to end well. Will they let the hurts and sorrows of the past keep them from a future together, if they ever even made it out of the predicament they were in? Readers of romantic suspense will not want to miss Deadly Intentions--a marvelous example of adrenaline-laced fiction.
I read a complimentary copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

Riveting, fast paced suspense fills the newest novel by Lisa Harris. I couldn't put it down and wondered what could possibly happen to Joshua and Caitlyn next. Joshua Solomon is a Houston PD Detective, and Caitlyn Lindsey is a researcher at a medical company that creates and produces vaccines. They connect when Caitlyn approaches Joshua after deaths of 3 researchers, including Solomon's wife, seem suspicious to her and appear interconnected to a project dubbed Starlighter.

Deadly Intentions has all the characteristics of great Christian Romantic Suspense: complex characters, an engaging plot, and lots of twists and turns. The relationship between Joshua and Caitlyn was caring and supportive. They both were after the same goal no matter what terror they encountered (and boy was there plenty of it). Both were methodical and persistant making them a good team to solve this twisted puzzle.

This is a book you will find hard to put down as it will keep you frozen to the pages until you have finally uncovered the culprits.

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing through NetGalley. Opinions are mine alone. I was not compensated for this review.

Lisa Harris has done it again with her latest mystery thriller! She has presented an original plot that is totally believable and one that drew me right into the middle of the action. Caitlyn Lindsey has a regular job as a research scientist until she is forced off the road one evening. Then, she starts to remember others with whom she worked who have died. With total determination, grit, and resolve, she seeks the help of recent widower and detective Josh Solomon to try to protect her life and find out the truth of what happened to her colleagues. As Josh and Caitlyn get closer to finding the truth, their lives are in more and more peril, creating a tense and enjoyable scenario for the reader. This is a thrilling story of good versus evil in which each chapter is more intense than the previous one. Readers of romantic mystery and suspense with a touch of thriller will thoroughly enjoy this book!

Lots of action and suspense! Caitlyn doesn't know who to trust when a third person affiliated with the lab she works for dies. Josh, a Houston detective whose wife had been murdered, reluctantly decides to help Caitlyn. Soon both are running for their lives while trying to connect and solve the crimes. Highly recommended!

“Deadly Intentions” by Lisa Harris was one of those novels that you just cannot put down. Caitlyn Lindsey works for a pharmaceutical company. She is convinced that someone in the company is killing her co-workers. She is becoming paranoid because she believes that she is being followed. Her fears grow accordingly in response to an accident in which a car, much like the one she has seen following her, sideswiped her and she and her car roll down a steep incline. Thankfully, passersby help her, but she is certain at this point that she is being targeted.

In the past few months, her friend Olivia was found shot in an apparent home invasion, her supervisor had a heart attack, and another friend committed suicide. All of these deaths and her experiences cannot be just a coincidence. She enlists the help of her friend Olivia’s husband Josh, a police detective to help her investigate what is going on.

In this story, the two of them can trust no one, not even Josh’s police co-workers. To say that this book is full of suspense is putting it mildly. I read the whole book in a day and a half. I got nothing else done though. But it was worth it. I have read other books by Lisa Harris and have never been disappointed. She is a master story-teller of suspense and thrilling novels.

Deadly Intentions by Lisa Harris caught my attention in the first chapter. It is an interesting and unusual plot line. Josh is a police officer and loses his wife when she is shot by two intruders.

Caitlyn gets suspicious when three of her coworkers die within a year. She works at a research laboratory and wonders if it has something to do with what they were working on.

Caitlyn goes to Josh with her suspicious since his wife was one of her coworkers that died. They go on the run as they try to investigate and people are after them. Josh has some interesting people helping them. And just when you think you know who is behind it Lisa throws in another plot twist.

Sexual content – walk in on a man and his mistress in bed. No details.
Violence – several deaths, but not described in gory detail

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.

From the very first page, Lisa Harris draws us into the suspense with Deadly Intentions and has us guessing right through the end who we can trust! Three seemingly random deaths... a break in gone wrong, a heart attack and a suicide. Seemingly unconnected, except that they all had one thing in common--- a common project through there employer MedTech. Could there be something darker at play? This question keeps us guessing. Though we don't find out exactly WHY these people are being targeted and what they had uncovered until later in the book, we do figure out pretty early on that someone is definitely trying to keep it under wraps. This leads to a story filled with twists and turns and suspense that has you turning the pages trying to put it all together. One thing that is clear throughout--- there is no telling who is in on it!

This uncertainty has our main characters leaning not just on each other, but the only other person they know they can trust in the midst of the turmoil--- God. It was not an overwhelming aspect of the story, but rather felt more natural to how any believer might react given the same circumstances. As a fan of Christian suspense, I appreciate these aspects in the story. I enjoyed seeing the romance blossom between our romantic leads, though admit I was uncertain with it at first just based on Josh only having recently lost his wife. I feel like the romance wasn't as rushed or even as prominent as other romances in this romantic suspense genre so I did appreciate that. I would be curious to hear more about their story in the future too.

I had read other books from Lisa Harris in the past, and really love her style. This story did not disappoint. If you already love her novels, you'll want to add this one to your collection. If you love a good, clean romantic suspense that will keep you guessing, this is definitely worth a read!

**I received a complimentary copy from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

In Lisa Harris’s latest release, Deadly Intentions, she takes readers on a fast-paced race to the finish to complete this suspense book. This book is one of my favorite releases for 2019. I highly recommend you read this book! You will not be disappointed! Caitlyn is a research scientist who works for a fairly large company. For the past year or longer, people who work at the company continue to die. After Caitlyn’s friend supposedly commits suicide, Caitlyn fears that she was working on something and it led to her death. This makes her question what occurred with the other people within the company. After Caitlyn starts asking questions, she is involved in an accident where someone obviously wants her to die. She decides to go on the run and hide. The only person she can think of to help her is Detective Josh Solomon, one of the victim’s husband. Josh has always questioned the circumstances around his wife’s death. Together will they be able to solve what is occurring? This must-read book is so intriguing and interesting you will want to read the whole thing in one sitting. Don’t start this one very late or it will keep you up all night! Lisa did a fantastic job on this one! I look forward to her next release.
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.

Deadly intentions by Lisa Harris is a fantastic thriller. It reads like one of my favourite TV crime shows, with just the right amount of action, intrigue, nail-biting they’re-not-going-to-get-out-of-this-alive tension, and just a touch of romance.

Caitlin knows something is wrong in the research science lab where she works. Three people have died in apparently unrelated ways, yet now, with the last death and the sharing of a secret, Caitlin suspects there is more to the deaths. But someone is following her and if she can’t discover who is behind the deaths, own life may be in danger. Unsure what else to do, Caitlin turns to Detective Josh Solomon, husband of the first victim. But if they are going to work together, she’ll have to convince him she’s right about her theories first.

Deadly Intentions is a thoroughly enjoyable book. I loved the action, loved the mystery and the race to not only find the killers but prove innocent Josh and Caitlin. The mystery storyline is twofold, with both murders and the threat of a biological weapon to uncover. It’s a complex and quick-moving plot, with plenty of suspects and reason to doubt everyone.

Lisa Harris’s writing style is immediately captivating and places the readers in the heads and hearts of her two main characters. Josh and Caitlin make a great team. They have a nice chemistry and they tag team in the investigation really well. I loved that Caitlin comes from outside the detective/police work world, yet her research background makes her a good investigative partner. While there is some romance between them, their attraction simmers in the background of the story. I actually really liked that they take their time to admit this to each other and consider the implications.

I highly recommend Deadly Intentions and I look forward to reading more of Lisa Harris’s titles.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Whew! I haven't gotten that emotionally involved (read: angry) since Terri Blackstock's If I Run series!!! Man oh man, my heart needs time to calm down.

Caitlyn Lindsey is starting to get suspicious. After the death of a coworker, she starts asking questions and apparently someone doesn't like it. Needing help, she turns to detective Josh Solomon, who has his own personal stake in what is going on.

What got me is that this scenario is so realistic. It actually goes on and I absolutely hate when the good guys are getting blamed for things! Makes me so mad! So Harris did a good job of getting me attached to the characters and rooting for them.! You get to a point where you question if everyone will make it out alive. I even got suspicious of one of the good guys!

An excellent story!

Another exciting read by one of my favorite authors! Fast paced, with plenty of action, a complex plot, and interesting characters, this book was hard to put down, and kept me reading late into the night. A romance develops later on, but isn't the focus as this pair literally is running for their lives. Readers who enjoy a conspiracy type plot mixed with medical ideas, will enjoy this story. A few interjections of faith questions realistic to the situation added depth and made the characters feel more authentic. They went through some very distressing circumstances, but both of them held onto their thread of faith and hope. The truth that Caitlyn clings to in a tense moment is key to bringing her courage: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1: 7

Recommend for fans of Christian suspense with a romantic interest. It is a stand alone, but would make a good start to a new series.
