While this steamy novella had some interesting parts, I felt like the characters were drawn without too much depth. Other than the hero’s issues with his brothers--which seemed peripheral--there wasn't much in the way of an outside story arc, an external plot that would have to do with something more than the couple’s romance. For some reason, I had a hard time connecting with the couple, so the story just fell flat for me. After what Rowan's brothers did to him, of course he evokes sympathy. But I didn't feel like the author used that to the fullest advantage. Instead, Rowan was made to seem mercenary at first, and it's hard to warm up to a hero whom you think is like that. Of course, it didn't end up to be that way, but you know what they say about first impressions!

The Lady No say Yes is part of a novella series by Jess Michaels. It is a really cute story about a woman that always say no to everything. She is challenged by her aunt to say yes. A gentleman with dubious intention find out that she there is this wager and use that to his advantage. This is a wonderful series and a must read.

I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. like all novellas I had the same issue, the concept was intriguing but the execution in so few pages was lacking. there isn't enough time to develop characters and relationships. longer would definitely been better.

Entertaining novella with a lonely h, and an H that is, though initially pragmatic and practical, soon finds himself falling in love with h. She has made a bargain with her aunt guardian to say yes to any dances, opportunities for marriage and similar requests for the season, she has declined all offers before, fearing a marriage devoid of love. Our H, having just been cut off by his brother, is informed of the agreement by the aunt, and having always been attracted to her, elects to pursue her. They come to truly enjoy each other, but will his dishonesty be his downfall? Fun, quick read, part of a series that stands well alone. I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoyable little novella with a lovely heroine and a hero that grew on me.

Lady Sophie is a considerable heiress who has become known as Lady No, as she refuses to spend time with men who are mainly interested in her dowry. Orphaned as a girl, she has been scarred by her parents toxic relationship which ended in a carriage accident Her single aunt has brought her up, and has regretted some of her life choices, she challenges Sophie to say yes to everything for a season, and see what happens.

Rowan Sinclair is a has been cut off from his inheritance, and is struggling to support himself as an artist. He discovers why Lady No has started saying yes, he decides to use it to his advantage to secure Sophie’s inheritance, even though he doesn’t feel comfortable with his behaviour.

Both of them develop passionate feelings for each other, how will Sophie feel when she discovers Rowan needs her fortune, and will they get their HEA? . I really enjoyed Sophie and Romans’ developing relationship, and particularly liked Sophie’s character. I also really enjoyed how they resolved their differences at the end of the book. Jess Michaels has a lovely touch with the dialogue and characterisation in this book, and judged the pace just right.

Honestly, this book felt a little too rushed for me to get really invested in the relationship between Sophie and Rowan but I still liked this book very much. I liked the relationship between Sophie and her aunt. Her aunt wasn’t pressuring her and was just giving her the nudge she needed. I liked the concept of the book of someone saying yes and giving everything a try even if she is miserable in doing so, most of the time. I admire her for taking the risks she does. There were sweet moments between Sophie and Rowan that I enjoyed. Overall, this book was good but not my absolute favorite.

I am a sucker for these little quickies by Jess! I have enjoyed the previous two in the series and this one did not disappoint. It's just long enough to fall in love with the characters and enjoy some sexy scenes. It is a nice Jess Michaels fix while waiting for her next full length!

Lady No Says Yes is about Sophie, an orphaned heiress who doesn't want anything to do with men, so she refuses all proposals and invitations, earning her the nickname Lady No. (Her mistreated her mother, and she does not want to find herself in the same situation.) Her guardian, her aunt Louisa, has always allowed her to be who she is, but she does ask Sophie to say yes for the season, just to make sure Sophie doesn't have any regrets. Rowan is a youngest (half) brother whose beloved father has died, and his brothers cut him off. He pursues Sophie, knowing about her money and her deal with Louisa. I really liked Sophie, and I thought the set up of this book was really clever. However, since it was a novella there wasn't much time to develop anything. Rowan and Sophie fall in love way too rapidly for my taste - they barely got to know each other. I also just didn't like Rowan - he was too alpha for me and I didn't particularly want them to end up together. That being said, it was a good read and I plan to check out some more of Michaels's work.

Sophie is known in Society as Lady No to everything, she's spent the past few years refusing the advances of every suitor will this season be any different, that is until her aunt challengers her to say yes to any opportunity put in her path within reason. Rowan Sinclair has just had his inheritance stripped by his brother the new Earl. It’s soon noticed Sophie is saying yes to dancing where she never dances she always says no., walking in the gardens, and rides in the park. Rowan decides to see if something could be driving Sophie and possible to make a match with him. Sophie has always admired Rowan and his independent lifestyle, and he inspires her heart with his darkly handsome good looks and that scares her to death. Sophie and Rowan have been watching each other for years, each denying any interest in the other. I loved this enchanting book watching Rowan and Sophie fall in love as they dance around each other and their growing feeling especially when the lady starts saying yes. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

I like big books and I cannot lie. However, sometimes I just crave a quick, engaging read. I have found that Jess Michaels pens sweet, steamy and heartfelt novellas that totally fit the bill. I have quickly become a very big fan of hers. I especially enjoy The Scandal Sheet series.

Lady Sophie has earned the nickname "Lady No". She doesn't like to go to ton events and when she does, she turns potential suitors down. She was deeply affected by the poor way her father treated her mother; said treatment led to their deaths when Sophie was very young. She became "Lady No" to protect her heart. When her nickname appeared in the scandal sheet, her aunt challenged her to actually say yes when confronted by suitors.

Rowan Sinclair, an artist, is the third and youngest son of an earl. When his beloved father dies, his older stepbrothers figure a way for Rowan to lose the allowance his father gave him. Left totally without funds, he needs income. And there, at a ball, is Sophie, she of the huge dowry. Normally I would despise a gold digger like Rowan, but he was just so darn likeable. He didn't like what he felt he had to do, plus he was very attracted to Sophie. The feeling was quite mutual. Sparks flew like mad whenever they were together. Though novellas tend to be short on character development, I didn't feel like anything was left out...the relationship felt real and full bodied. I eagerly await the next installment.

Sophie is known in Society as Lady No because she always refuses the advances of every suitor. She makes a bet with her Aunt and must say yes for one season. Rowan learns why Sophie has had a sudden change of heart and plans to use it to his advantage. This is was a good read with great chemistry and plenty of drama and suspense. I liked the characters as well as the story. Just wish it had been longer. A good read.

Lady No is a cute short story about Lady Sophie. She has earned the reputation of saying "No" to all offers, all requests. She does it to protect her heart. She was greatly effected by the one sided relationship her parents had, where her mother loved her father despite his philandering ways. She does not want to become her mother and she has no trust in men.
Lord Rowan is the 3rd son of an Earl. He was the son of a 2nd marriage. He is a very talented painter. His father supported him in pursuing his talent by supporting him financially. When his father dies and his older half brother becomes Earl, he cuts him off.
Two people who have been effected by their families. Can they find happiness with each other? It wont be easy.
I liked this story. It was just too short. There was the potential for so much more. I felt a lot was left unsaid or missing. I also thought for such a short story to have 2 full sex scenes was a little too much. I give this 3 1/2 stars.

Sophia has become known as Lady No to society. She has refused all dance partners, carriage rides, etc. She has seen what an unhealthy marriage did to her parents, and she has no interest in enduring the same. She is a wealthy heiress with no need of a husband but when her aunt bargains with her to finally say yes Sophia can't turn her down.

Rowan Sinclair is the third son of an earl and when the sons from his father's first marriage conspire against him and he finds himself penniless and in need of a wife. His close friendship with Lady Louisa, Sophia's aunt he discovers the way to win her hand in marriage and solve his financial issues.

I am usually a huge Jess Michaels fan, but I have to say this series of novellas is a huge letdown. This one, in particular, was a weak offering. There was no spark between the main characters and they actually interacted very little for a real romance to grow. Even the sex scenes were poorly written. If I hadn't been a fan of Ms Michaels, this series would put me off reading any more of her works.

I received an arc of this book from the author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Scandal Sheet "All in Society are well aware of the famous-or is it infamous?-Lady No. The lady seems determined to enter into spinsterhood." Her aunt Louisa read out loud and Lady Sophie could not help but laugh. But her aunt told her it was about her! So that was her moniker but she could just not say yes to getting hurt and being married only for her money. Not as she had seen her parents life. Then her aunt asked her for this, her fourth season to say yes. Yes to dancing, walking with a gentleman and trying to enjoy herself!
Rowan Sinclair had just been cut off his meager inheritance by his older stepbrother. He needed those funds to help support his art. So now he needed to look for a rich wife. But as he finds out about Sophie and that she might say yes to a suitor, he decides to see what will happen.
But who knew he might actually fall in love? What will she think when she finds out that he does need money?
Although a novella, Jess Michaels always gets a full story in that I love! These two needed each other, I could only hope they would find their way by the end!! Love this series!!

Lady No Says Yes by Jess Michaels
The Scandal Sheet #3

Lady Sophie has been saying NO to dances, walks in the park and just about anything a young man might ask her to do since her coming out nearly four years ago. She has reasons to do so that eventually come out later in the novella but when challenged to start saying YES she surprises herself by hoping she might find the right man to marry – a man who will let her retain her independence and quirks and actually love her. Honorable Rowan Sinclair, third son of the Earl of Terrington suddenly finds himself in need of money and having eyed Lady Sophie over the years contemplates wooing her. At first he might believe it is just for the money she will provide but later...perhaps the money is less important.

This book has loving and despicable relatives, balls, wonderful outfits, some steamy moments and eventually...a HEA.

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Did I feel the main lead characters were suited to one another? Yes
Would I like to read more in the series? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and The Passionate Pen for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This was an engaging read. I did like the main characters of Roman and Sophie. Given Sophie’s past experience with her parents, it was no wonder she was sceptical of the members of society. Rowan had loved his father but now was left with his two half brothers, who were jealous and vindictive. I loved the way Rowan expressed his feelings for Sophie. Although this is a short read, it was a very satisfying read, although I would have liked an epilogue. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

FINAL DECISION: This is a nice story, but I wanted more time with the characters to more fully develop their relationship.

THE STORY: Sophie is an heiress known as "Lady No" because she always refuses all advances by men including dancing and carriage rides. When the Scandal Sheet raises the issue of Sophie becoming a spinster, Sophie's aunt challenges Sophie to say "yes" for a Season. Rowan Sinclair inheritance is taken from him by his brother who has now become Earl. Lady No's change of mind seems to be an opportunity for Rowan to capture an heiress and solve his problems.

OPINION: I liked the setup for this book. The short length does not allow the story to be as developed as I often wanted while reading this story. The situation seems well designed to have plenty of angst and drama, but the novella length forces things to happen too quickly.I liked what I had in this book, but I wanted more. More of Rowan and Sophie together, more of the sexy bits, more of the drama and development of their emotional connection.I did like the book, but I probably wouldn't think to read it again.

WORTH MENTIONING: This book is a short novella.

CONNECTED BOOKS: LADY NO SAYS YES is the third book in the Scandal Sheet series. This book can be read as a standalone.

STAR RATING: I give this book 3 stars.
