A cute book, rather twee, but adorable and a nice read for a cool winter's night with some tea and warm slippers. Definitely geared towards younger 20-somethings, but still enjoyable at any age.
I loved that this Christmas book was set around sisters. Even though there were romance interests for both ladies, I liked that it was family-focused. That's very different from many of these types of books set at Christmas. The characters lacked some depth but it a fast and festive read so I would recommend it to library patrons.
The writing style was ok but I felt the book was geared towards young adults rather than adults
The beginning was a bit confusing but the book did settle down
An ok read
Fairly standard Christmas romance featuring twin sisters. Eloise is very focused on having a family Christmas, and twin sister Cara is a workaholic who thinks she should be working all the hours of the day. Their parents decide to take a holiday over Christmas, and with snow and work threatening to keep Cara away, Christmas may not happen for Eloise. Except there is her dishy neighbour, who is also stuck at home due to bad weather.
This is an easy holiday read full of lots of Christmas cliches. There's not really much in the way of plot or character development, but if you're after a quick read for a chilly winter evening this is enjoyable enough.
Sadly, this one wasn’t quite for me. I love a good Christmas story, I liked the characters, but this just didn’t quite hit the spot. For me, the writing was just a bit too cliched. By 15% of the way through I wondered if the author could describe something festive without the word ‘Christmas’ (just in case we forgot the theme?) and the dialogue just sounded stilted.
A real shame, but not on my recommend and reread pile.
As a big fan of Christmas, I absolutely adored every word of this book, baring in mind, I read it on a scorching hot day! It really made all those Christmas feelings come back in full swing and I'm now ready to dive in to every Christmas book being released this year.
This is Beth's debut adult book and she smashed it! Christmas, romance and sibling love all in one book? Who would ever resist? All of the characters were so wonderful to read about, making this book an even more comforting read than it already was.
I definitely related a lot more to Eloise, than Cara - you'll most likely never see me become a workaholic! Throughout the whole book I just wanted to scream at Cara and tell her to go home to her family and enjoy Christmas, but at the same time, I totally understood why she highly prioritised her work.
I really enjoyed going back and fourth between the twins, getting to know their personalities, watching them fall in love and get an insight in to the lives they live away from one another. I'm not going to lie, I also got a little giddy when I realised that the twins hometown is Doncaster - just like me! When Beth described Doncaster, I was able to picture it perfectly, which is such a bonus when reading.
Congratulations, Beth! I would highly recommend this book to everybody and can't wait to see what Beth has in store for us all next! (After the sequel to TKB of course, eek!)
Story of twins one living in London the other in Doncaster, both leading very different lives and yet they are intertwined. Very well written and enjoyable infact I stayed up very late to finish this as I didn't want to put it down.I would highly recommend this novel so enjoy it.
As a lover of all things Christmas, I was SO excited to read this book, even though it ended up being the opposite of what I expected. The story revolves around twin sisters who've gone their own ways. A charming tale of the holidays that made me want to binge-watch all the classic movies. I was a little annoyed with Cara's character at times, but it was worth it at the end.
The story of twins Eloise and Cara. Opposites, Eloise is shy and prefers to stay at home, whereas Cara is outgoing and moved to London.
Christmas is approaching and Eloise wants nothing more than to spend it with her family, but will the snow storm stop all that? When she ameks friends with neighbour Jamie will it lead to more?
Cara works too, determined to get a promotion. She is also worried that her new boyfriend is keeping secrets from her - will she confront him and get the answers she needs?
Entertaining festive read.
Thank to Beth Reekles and HarperCollins for the arc. I love a good Christmas book that warms your heart whilst reading. I also love a good festive movie. It won’t be Christmas without you fives you both as a reader.
Beth has the knack of writing like you are watching a movie. It’s a heartwarming light hearted tale of two twin sisters, their relationships and family life.
An exceptional read. 😍👌🏻
I am a sucker for a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ festive romance and gorge myself on as many as I can find, (hence reading a Christmas book release in August) and #ItWontBeChristmasWithoutYou enveloped me in the festive spirit from the start.
From the realities of having a sister, particularly a twin (I have imagined and had many similar feelings as our two main characters Cara and Eloise) to the enchantment of blossoming romance at the most wonderful time of the year, I enjoyed the escape from my own life and championed each sister at different points in the novel.
The way the author writes I could visualise every scene, even down to making risotto in a house shared with five virtual strangers, where the heating didn’t work properly and those extra five minutes for the food to be cooked.
Reading this story gave me the same warm and fuzzies as watching Bridget Jones’s Diary, this is high praise from me. The only thing that left me hanging was if Cara actually got the promotion.
I highly recommend It Won’t be Christmas Without You, even if you aren’t into the festive romance genre, it’s a well written and heartwarming read. My thanks to #Netgalley and Publishers #HarperCollins #OneMoreChapter for allowing to read and review this wonderful story.

Early NetGalley copy review:
Eloise is obsessed with Christmas and her twin sister Cara is obsessed with work. They also are both in transition in their love lives. Cara just started dating. But can this new man compete with her overbooked work schedule? Eloise is struggling with her first Christmas after a big breakup. Can she keep up her cheery spirit despite the loss? And who is that handsome man in the apartment across the hall? Overall, this book is about the sister’s relationship and how they weather their different personalities, with the added stress of holiday logistics.
I requested this book purely because of the Christmas theme, and it did not disappoint! I was also interested to see what Beth Reekles would do with an adult fiction book. It is relatively difficult to get into a wintery mood when you live in California and the weather is still very hot and summery. This was a great book to surround me with the season – plus a pine-scented candle. I would be really interested to hear this book in an audiobook format. I bumped on some of the British terms as a read them without the accent (in my head).
Happy Pub Day!
3.5 stars
A cute, light, and fun read that should get you in the Christmas spirit. Definitely found myself relating to the Christmas-loving Elise and her wanting to keep her family's Christmas tradition alive.
The story had a good balance of both family relationships and romantic relationships in the festive season.
Thanks to HarperCollins and Netgalley for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I'm a fan of Christmas stories and I really liked this one. It's heartwarming, entertaining and it made me feel the Christmas spirit even if we are in August.
I loved the well written cast of characters, I rooted for them, and the engrossing and lovely plot.
I look forward to reading other books by this author because this was an enjoyable reading experience.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
I really enjoyed the UK Christmas setting of this book and the countdown to Christmas on each chapter header was really fun. It was fun reading about twin sisters, especially two being as different as Eloise and Cara. I personally could relate way more to the Christmas obsessed Eloise though!
However, I just did not really connect with these characters and for much of the story they felt a little flat to me. I'm not sure if it was because it was from dual perspectives, but I just wanted all of the characters to be more fleshed out and developed.
I also thought this book would have a little more romance in it than it did based on the description. While both sisters find love during the book I definitely didn't feel it was the main plot and neither relationship seemed to have much chemistry.
This is the perfect Christmassy story, I have never read a book that is based on the relationship of two sisters before and I must say I really enjoyed it. There is a little bit of romance in the story but it isn't the main focus.
Can't wait to check out more from this author!
I couldn't believe it when I was approved for an ARC of Beth Reekles' new book. An excited dance party in my living room followed the NetGalley notification.
This novel is an adult romance set around Christmas time, following dual perspectives from Eloise and Cara, a set of twins living apart post-graduation in the cities of Doncaster and London. Their parents are going on holiday for Christmas, so it's up to the twins to spend the day together and hold down the festive fort. The only problem is that whilst Eloise, a primary school teacher, is full of Christmas spirit and eager to host at her flat, Cara, a workaholic climbing up the corporate ladder, is keen to skip the day altogether to chase after her new promotion, The book also follows both of the sisters love lives as they start to fall in love during the run up to the 25th.
I absolutely loved Eloise. Her festive cheer is contagious and her romance with Jamie was adorable. Her storyline - and the cosy little flat, which I'm jealous of - was my favourite of the twins. Cara was harder to get attached to. Although we can probably all relate to chasing our dreams, it was hard not to resent her attitude towards family, particularly her sister. I do love a good sister storyline though; one of my favourite tropes in literature! The sister dynamic was written so beautifully, and I related a lot to the conversations that Cara and Eloise had. You couldn't help but root for them, both in their romantic escapades and their Christmas countdown. I felt like I wanted to snuggle up on Eloise's sofa and share a box of chocolates with her. And considering I read this during a heatwave, that's an impressive testament to Beth's writing style.
A lovely seasonal read focusing on the sisters relationship more than romance m but the romance is still present here, but the sisters are the main focus. It’s a great study of family and friendship, loving Christmas and overworking. A cute story that will leave you feeling very Christmassy and wanting to put on a film or some music. Sweet entertaining read.

Absolutely loved this book from the very first page! It was so refreshing to see a book based on sisters rather than the typical romantic story, although this did have romance in it too! Once I started I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a evening!
