Cute "search and find" book. Where is Little Chameleon hiding among all the animals and plants? Mommy can spot the good little hider. Colorful, simple story for toddlers who will definitely need help finding Little Chameleon among all the animals in their natural surroundings.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A fun little book with lots of colorful pictures. Kids will enjoy trying to find the hidden chameleon in the pictures.
A hide and seek book. The illustrations are bright and colourful. It was fun finding out where the little chameleon has hidden in each page. Also there are more things to find in each page like three orange birds with red beaks, nine purple butterflies with yellow dots, etc. Kids can learn colours and numbers.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC
This is a simple, sweet, hide and seek book that I read to my two grandchildren. They both enjoyed the book for different reasons. The 3 year old liked the counting aspect and all the colours, the 5 year old loved looking for the chameleon understanding what camouflage is and how chameleons use it for protection. The second reading had my granddaughter also looking for the chameleon and laughing when she found it, talking about what colour it had turned. The illustrations are absolutely adorable, vibrant, colorful, large and eye catching. Kids never tire of hide and seek books even as they get older. This is a great little book for pre-school, kindergarten and early primary classrooms. There are a lot of uses for these concepts in science, math, art and language development or early reading skills.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This is a great read for little ones learning their colors. Lots of repetitive language and things for kids to point out.
My son’s favorite kind of books are “Look and Find” books so he loved this one! I loved that it had a fun and creative story, so it was fun to read to him. I loved how it taught colors, counting and observing. The pictures were beautiful. I can’t wait to buy this one to add to our collection!
Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy in return for an honest review!

5 stars.
Ohh this is an easy 5 star book!!
It was SO much fun!!! Even as an adult I really enjoyed it and can easily see this being popular. Trying to find the Chameleon on each page really made to have to stop and look because as we all know, a Chameleon changes its colour to blend into objects. I can see it being a bit of a challenge but in a really positive way as it adds to the fun of when you finally find the hidden Chameleon.
The illustrations were perfect. Bright colours and very well done. Easily attractive to little ones eyes. It also teaches kids about colours. What each colour looks like. I also like that there is a 3rd addition to this which teaches children what sounds each animal makes.
All around I definitely recommend this without a doubt!
Mummy chameleon and little chameleon are playing hide and seek.
Help mummy find little chameleon as he hides and changes colour to blend into his surroundings.
While you are looking for little chameleon each page features a different colour. There are other insects and animals to find; one red spider, two red ladybugs.
As the hide and seek game progresses through different colours the story introduces different animals and the sound they make plus the number of objects to find increases from 1 through to 10. Each page ends with the question: But...... where is little chameleon?
This is a gorgeously illustrated children’s book suitable for ages 2+ which introduces and reinforces colour and counting with a fun repetition to the end of each page. Further education can be made with older children by discussing the way chameleons can change colour to blend into the surroundings just as little chameleon has done.
This is a simple, sweet, hide and seek book. At 3 my granddaughter is a bit old for the book but liked "the pictures" and it made her giggle. I think this would be a great little book for a young toddler. The illustrations are absolutely adorable, bright, colorful and eye catching. Kids never tire of hide and seek and the reader can then continue the discussion with the little one about how chameleons change color depending on the colors of background where they are hiding.
I also like that it incorporated counting into the story and repetitive verses for language development.
Cute verses, great pictures, I'd recommend it.
Also reviewed on Amazon.
I like that this book engages the reader to look for specific items in the book. My little one enjoyed it. However it was not correctly formatted on the kindle app.

Thank you to Clavis Publishing and NetGalley for giving me and my children the opportunity to read this eArc edition. This book is so enjoyable, I need to get a print copy of this book! It is very colorful with cute illustrations and my kids loved the little chameleon playing with his mom. And my kids and I had so much fun trying to find the camouflaged chameleon in the book! It was short and sweet. I will be buying this for my children and this would also make a good gift for other little ones.
This engaging board book will have kids searching each page looking for numbers to enhance their counting skills, identifying colours and sifting through various forms of wildlife until little chameleon is finally spotted. Kids will love the challenge of the hunt while having fun as well. This book delivers on both accounts.
The author has embedded Little Chameleon into every page which makes a seek-and-find game that kids (and I'm sure adults ) will find entertaining. The book encourages kids to keep on going by asking the question "Where is Little Chameleon?" to them. And of course that question anticipates a call to action.
The illustrations are bold, vibrant and extremely colourful, perfect for that age group. Dutch author and artist, Anita Bijsterbosch has created another winning book for your little ones to enjoy. I highly recommend this book.
I am sure this book will entertain many littles as they search for Little Chameleon! Cute story with lots for critters small ones will enjoy. I am betting the illustrations will look absolutely wonderful in color! It would make a terrific gift! Or a fine addition to a collection.
Not much of a plot to this one but it doesn't really need one. THe point is pretty much just to look for the chameleon on each page. And that type of book is frequently a winner with little kids as toddlers enjoy the small success of finding the hidden object.
“Hide and Seek, Little Chameleon” by Anita Bijsterbosch was a fun book that focused on numbers and colors and introduces some wonderful wildlife. The book is a search and find type book for children under three years old, but would also be engaging for older siblings.
At first you don’t realize what you are supposed to be “doing,” if you aren’t paying attention. Then when you realize you need to find the camouflaged chameleon on each page, it becomes a fun game that is increasingly difficult. As you know, the chameleon changes shades of color based on its surroundings and if you are looking for the chameleon in the same shade as the previous page you could miss him!
Overall, I loved the developmental touches added to the book for the younger kids who are just starting to learn their numbers or colors or the names of animals. I definitely recommend this book.
This was a fun children's book which is short and colorful with simple images for the young. In most images, a chameleon hides and you and your kid have to figure out where it is. The book also talks colors and offers counting opportunities, so it's quite educational too.
Some of the chameleon finds were not so obvious, so this is good training. My one fear was that if a child had some sort of color deficiency in their vision, they might not see the chameleon at all, but when I took a little screenshot of some pages (the part of the book where the chameleon was hiding) and tinkered with them to change the colors, removing red, or green, or blue, and when I desaturated the image turning it to grayscale, the chameleon was still discernible, so I guess it's good to go! The only one where it pretty much disappeared altogether, was where it was hiding on a page featuring a lion, so I can't blame it for that! LOL! Besides, you could still see the eye even on that page. I'm happy to call this a worthy read for young children and a fun exercise in hide and seek
Thank you to NetGalley for the Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. I received this in exchange for my honest review.
Very cute little book. Toddlers of all ages are bound to have fun with this one learning colors, counting and animal sounds. The seek and find was a little challenging even for me so would definitely keep them engaged for a while. The illustrations were very fun and engaging.
This book is really cute, challenging the child to find the little chameleon on each page, I just wonder what age it is aimed at. The colors and illustration seem geared towards toddler but the exercises would be too difficult for a toddler. Maybe a child of 5-6 years old? But then is the imagery too babyish for them? I would still purchase this book, great concept and love the colorful illustrations
I love colorful books. Every page is vibrant in this hide-and-seek book between Mommy Chameleon and Little Chameleon. In the story, we help find Little Chameleon amongst the pages of vibrant parrots, lions, ducks, and crocodiles where we are also given counting opportunities. One of the best parts is how difficult Little Chameleon is to find on each page. As an adult, I really appreciated this and how the illustrations truly took the 'chameleon' part to heart.
Hide and Seek, Little Chameleon by Anita Bijsterbosch is such a cute little book for your little child. Bright and fun read.
Colorful and engaging book
