Rebekah’s Quilt by Sara Harris takes us back to 1868 where a group of Amish are crossing the United States to find a new home. Along the way, at an area known as The Pike in Indian Territory, they find an overturned wagon. They investigate and find that the adults have perished. They find a baby in a nearby bush. Samuel and Elnora Stoll have been married two years and they have yet to have a child. They take the sweet girl in their home. Twenty years later, Rebekah is grown and celebrating her birthday. She had her rumspringa with her best friend, Joseph. They both wish to become baptized members. We follow Rebekah, Joseph, the Stoll family, and the rest of the community as they experience life on the prairie. There are a series of events that happen. Life is unpredictable in the west as this Amish community discovers. Rebekah’s Quilt is a short, easy to read story. I liked the characters in the story especially Rebekah and Joseph. Joseph is such a kind man who is always there for Rebecca. The author immerses us in the daily life of the Amish. It is different from what we are used to in modern Amish books. We join them in their daily activities (cooking, laundry, milking, taking care of kids, giving birth, farming). Life is extremely unpredictable. The families only have each other to rely on (no fire department, no police, etc.). I enjoyed reading this charming story. This is a clean story that could be read by tweens on up. I hope we get more stories involving this group of characters. Rebekah’s Quilt is a sweet historical Amish tale with quilt quandary, a cute calf, a sudden snowstorm, busy brothers, a mother in the family way, a romantic rival, and a surprising stranger.
Rebekah's Quilt is a quick read, maybe a bit too quick. I would have loved a longer story. But, I liked this book. Its a clean, inspiring Amish historical love story. This book is a debut if a new series and I will be happy to read more by this author.

The author lost me pretty quickly. There were too many characters mentioned in the first few pages without any explanation as to who they were to one another.

What an adorable young love, first love story. The innosense is so touching. Great story reaffirms that family does not have to be bloodline related. Again, I am touched by the generosity, welcoming, and nurturing of the Amish ways. And, a little rooster fight makes it humorously complete.
This is my first go-around with this author, and I look forward to reading more. This particular book was a short story, perfect for a quiet afternoon. So enjoyable!
A fair to good story that had a lot of potential. I did like the concept of Rebekah being found and raised by Amish settlers, and her and Joseph had a nice relationship. Problem was the story was too short. Never saw why Katie was sort of a Nellie Olsen type (referencing Little House on the Prairie) or why Peter did such a quilt turn around from wanting to take her away to joining the Amish. A novella tends to be short, but felt more would have helped here. Would still recommend, as I did enjoy it, but wish more details would have been provided.
This is a short story about an Amish woman named Rebecca. In the mid 1800s, her parents migrated from Germany to Canada. They then moved to Indiana. On the way to Indiana, the wagon train came upon an overturned wagon. They found the deceased English couple, and buried them. The Indians had massacred them. While burying them, they heard a baby cry. A couple that hadn't been blessed with children took the baby into their family. When they reached Indiana, they could not locate her family, so they chose to keep her, and named her Rebecca. The story continues when Rebecca finds out that she's English. Her whole world turns upside down. Parts made me cry. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I read it in a couple of hours. I am now following this author.
A well written Amish romance. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I always enjoy this author’s books. This is my unbiased review.
A glimpse into the life of an Amish family.
It's not exactly what I was expecting. I thought it was going to explain better their way of living or their beliefs.
It's ok but I didn't love it.
But it's a sweet story and very easy to read.
This is a lovely light Amish story. Rebekah is taken in as a baby to a loving couple who hadn't been fortunate to be blessed with a child they so desperately wanted.
Rebekah became theirs and many sons afterwards.
Many years later Rebekah is grown and falling for her long time friend, then a surprise visitor arrives at the farm, and he destroys Rebekah's faith.
Lovely story, too short though, would have loved for it to continue with the future of Rebekah and Joseph and where life would take them and their families.
