This is a collection of short stories, jumping from character to character. I found it difficult to follow. I think it needs some major editing to make it more coherent - at times I found myself very confused about what was going on.
I couldn’t enjoy the book because of my confusion.
This is a collection of short stories about growing up in the area centered around where some of the named businesses are in Hollywood. Fiction that I at first mistook for non-fiction. It is an ok little book. This is one I’d suggest borrowing, either from the library or a friend, before deciding to buy. Advance electronic review copy was provided by NetGalley, author Tara Botel Doherty, and the publisher.
This book needs serious editing. It's jumbled and incohesive. The narrative jumps from the parents' story to the children, and even that switches from the oldest to the youngest with no transition. It would be a decent story if I could follow who is saying what. As it is, it's a rambling story about angry adults and confused children.
