when celebrity weather forecaster Amber moves into the biggest and fanciest house in the neighborhood, dowdy school teacher Lucy latches onto her trying to be her best friend. When Amber gets some "stalker" type texts, she ends up moving in with Lucy and her husband Matt. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book or not because both Lucy and Amber were both very annoying characters, but things quickly changed. As secrets unfolded, and twists and turns occurred, this was a really good read and I enjoyed it. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this very interesting page turner in exchange for an honest review.

A dark and twisty book that’ll have you shouting at the characters in frustration.

Lucy lives happily with her husband Matt is a quiet estate when TV weather girl, Amber Young moves in across the street. They develop a close friendship which includes wine, onesies and rom coms! But soon Amber finds herself a victim of a terrifying stalker. Lucy invites her into her house. But what exactly has she signed herself up for?

I devoured this book, eager to see how it would resolve. At first I wasn’t keen on Lucy as a character but she did grow on me eventually. I got angry with her for the way she behaved with everyone, specifically her friend Kirsty, who I felt to be the most under-appreciated and frankly normal characters in the whole book - the only one I didn’t actually get mad at!

It’s a 4.5 star read based on my initial dislike of the characters, but I liked the way the story resolved at the end, and the twist was great. Perfect for those who love The Girl on the Train and An Anonymous Girl.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley. This has not influenced my review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Unfortunately I found this book to be tiring. Lucy was not only very needy but also very annoying and dragged every little incident out for several pages. The plot was something that has been done several times before. I honestly could not get through this book.
