Delightful romantic novella. While it works as a novella it could be a regular book too. Got to visit characters from other books.

Sweet story about love and forgiveness. Great characters. This is a novella so story is a little rushed but it is still a great afternoon read! Really like this series!

A lovely novella that brings to romances to life and has you dreaming of happily ever after. You meet Sophia who seems to be getting it together. After the death of her husband she wasn't sure where she was going to land or what life had in store for her. His family, especially one of his brothers has always hated her leaving her without their help when he died. She has opened a boutique on Main Street with the help of a friend and things are starting to look up, that is until her once brother-in-law Adam comes back to town. The two have always had a weird relationship and when feelings start to sprout neither knows exactly how to deal with them. Meanwhile her best friend and business partner is seeing her other brother-in-law even though he hurt her in the past. She can't stand to see her friend with a man who was already so careless with her feelings. Follow along as these two women step into their own romances and look forward to a brighter future. Will the men in their lives feel the same way or will they both end up hurt and destine to go it alone. I love this series and enjoyed getting a peak back into the lives of some of the people of such a wonderful town.

I read the first book and now the last book in this series and I really like it! I can't wait to read the ones in between. The characters are all likable and I like how each book follows different characters, but the old characters are still there too. I like reading about what they are up to. The book was a quick read (being a novella and all), but it still had a lot going on. I look forward to the rest of the series!

After a few rough years, Sophia finally feels like she has everything going right. And after a long day working in her boutique, she’s ready to ring in the new year with her best friend, Autumn. Certainly the last person she expects to run into is her brother-in-law, Adam Dane … See, Sophia’s had a rocky relationship with the Dane family ever since her husband passed away. And even though she’d rather keep her distance, she can’t help but feel drawn to Adam … and as they celebrate a new year and new beginnings, she realizes he might feel the same way.

Novellas, when done right, can make for brief and captivating reads. When written by a focused author, they’re just short enough to hold even the most wandering of attentions. But the flip side of this is that they can sometimes end long before the story feels finished. One Night in Christmas straddles this line. Though there’s a full novel lurking inside this novella, that doesn’t keep it from being highly enjoyable.

And this is really a testament to Debbie Mason’s writing— she leaves readers wanting more. Even within these short confines, her characters feel fully realized. Sophia, strong but somewhat dependant on her best friend, just wants to continue on in the comfortable life she’s created. Adam, charming but almost focused to a fault, can’t wait to escape from the tiny town. Mason dutifully casts these two as opposites who inevitably cross paths— and then some. Lesser writers might accidentally make their differences feel incompatible, but Mason treats them as puzzle pieces just waiting to see how they fit together. Their blossoming and complicated relationship fuels the story in such a compelling way.

Of course, it helps that they’re backed up by such an entertaining secondary cast of characters. Autumn sneaks through her own new relationship. Sophia’s other friend, Ty, cracks jokes and schemes as a matchmaker. And the Dane family weaves in plenty of mystery and drama to keep the action flowing.

Some of this action might have been better served by a full length book. Sophia’s complications surrounding her husband’s death could have been fleshed out, because it really was a fascinating point. As well, while the ending wasn’t rushed, the build-up could have been stretched. But with a splash of fun and a bit of heart, Debbie Mason has written a charming story.

Love visiting Christmas Colorado, and this was no disappointment. Love all of the quirky residents. Loved Sophie and Adam, a second chance romance. Sophie is coming to terms with the death of her husband when she runs into her ex bother in-law, Adam. Sophie was always, Adam's first love. Many family secrets will come out in the story, as they rekindle their relationship.

An enjoyable read that I wish was longer, so enjoyed these characters

Loved the story. Very well written and drew me in from the start right through the ending. If you love reading Tobin Carr or Jill Shalvis you'll love the author. Every story I've read by Debbie Mason is better than the last one. I read this book on one night,

Great read. The author wrote a story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in.

Sophia has been a widow for almost ten years. Adam is her late husband’s brother. Could there be a more unlikely couple?

The truth is that Sophia was in love with Adam before meeting her late husband, but gave up on Adam since he didn’t seem interested. Adam was very interested, but wasn’t ready to give up the single life yet and believed that Sophia was too young for him.

Fast forward ten years. Sophia and Adam meet again for the first time in ten years. Does lightening strike twice?

"One Night in Christmas" is a novella in Debbie Mason's Christmas, Colorado series. It is Sophia Dane's story, owner of the boutique, Naughty and Nice. She is a widow who has bounced back from the loss of her husband. Her brother-in-law, Adam Dane, has returned to Christmas for the New Year. Sophia is happy with her life and does not want to get involved in a relationship. Her best friend is Autumn, owner of Sugar and Spice. When Sophia discovers that Autumn has secretly reconnected with Logan, another Dane brother, she is not happy. She devises a plan to break them up, afraid that Autumn will get her heart broken by Logan for a second time. This is a story about friendship and all the trials and tribulations that go along with it. It is a story about love and forgiveness. It is also a story of loving someone enough to let them go. This novella is part of the Christmas, Colorado series but can easily be read as a stand alone book. I recommend this book as a fun, heartwarming and easy read.

This novel keeps the reader on his/her toes from start to finish. I picked this book up 2 nights ago, and am already finished because I couldn't put it down. The main characters are very likable and easy to relate to, and I really cared about them as a reader. The language is descriptive and the words flow well. Highly recommend!

I felt like I was in the middle of a Hallmark movie as I read One Night in Christmas by Debbie Mason. It probably would have been easier to keep the numerous characters straight if I had already read the previous books in this series based in the fictional town of Christmas, Colorado. The story also felt a bit rushed due to the shorter length of a novella. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for introducing me to another new author.

One Night in Christmas is a heart warming story of love and forgiveness. The characters are very likeable except for one shady cousin. An enjoyable read

I always look forward to returning to Christmas, Colorado and ONE NIGHT IN CHRISTMAS is certainly a bittersweet return that will, hopefully, put some healing touches on relationships badly hurt and bring two people a second chance at love.

Sophia’s life has gone through so many changes recently. She’s become a widow with a family of in-laws who try their best to place guilt and anger on her over her husband’s sudden death. She’s sharing a house and a business with a good friend who suddenly is planning to return to her relationship with her ex-husband, who happens to be Sophia’s former brother-in-law. Autumn and Logan are a secondary couple in this story, but their actions do drive what happens, in many ways, between Sophia and Adam. When fate would have Sophia and another brother-in-law, Adam, run into each other again there are mixed emotions. Adam has been in love with Sophia, unknown to her, for a very long time. In his eyes, this is a chance to show her how she should be loved and cared for — if he can convince her to trust him again. For Sophia, Adam is a temptation, a source of calmness in very troubled waters at the moment. She could love him, but that also means dealing with and trusting a family who has hurt her deeply. That is something she is not sure she can do.

Watching this couple who do belong together work their way through emotions and situations to find their happy ending was enjoyable. I wasn’t so thrilled with Autumn and Logan, but we never love all the characters. Once again, Debbie Mason has given us a romance that is believable set in a small town with quirky characters and deep emotions running beneath almost everything that happens in Christmas, Colorado. Although this is a novella length story (it so could have gone full length in my wishes) is an enjoyable return to a town I love to visit. If you love a good romance, small-town antics and couples who will engage your emotions then you’ll enjoy ONE NIGHT IN CHRISTMAS.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I have loved every book I’ve read by Debbie Mason. This is a story that has a little bit of a lot of emotions. It has heartbreak, suffering, rebuilding of lives, compassion, loyalty, second chances, and humor. The characters are great as is the story line. I love, love, love Zeus!! I have known police dogs and they are so special. I wanted the story to just continue, I just wasn’t ready for it to end. I hope I can visit Christmas, Colorado again soon. I received the book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

Sophia Dane's life is back on track. After losing her husband in a tragic accident she's finally at a good point in her life. She's is the owner of a clothing boutique in the town of Christmas Colorado. Ready to ring in the new year with friends at the lodge, she runs into her brother in law Adam. Sophia has been in love with Adam since her teenage years. Adam was older and uninterested in settling down.
Coming home to Christmas is the last thing that Adam has wanted to do. Since running into his brothers widow Sophia , who he has been secretly in love with what seems like forever is possibly the second chance he needs and deserves. Now he just has to convince Sophia.
I loved this book and these characters. Christmas is a wonderful little town, with lots of love, laughter, and never a dull moment especially if Nell is close by.

Loved revisiting Christmas, Colorado with all it's quirky characters and I really enjoyed this story. My only real complaint is that I wanted more and wish this was a full novel rather than a novella. I wanted to get to know these characters better and dive a little deeper into their story. With that said this was still a truly enjoyable quick read. Sophie is happy with her life just as it is. She hates change and fights it with everything she has. Now that it appears her best friend. who is also her housemate and business partner. is ready to make a huge personal change it has Sophia spiraling. Who would ever think that Adam, Sophia's long time crush and ex brother in law, would be the one to pull her through and have her thinking of changes to her own life?? I definitely recommend this one.

I'm always excited when I see a new Debbie Mason book coming out. May it be a novella or a mass market it doesn't matter to me. All I know is that for the time it takes me to read it I'm going to be visiting with people that I love.

Mason has this wonderful ability to make me start out loving a character than it turns to hate and comes back to either love or at least I tolerate them. Of course, they don't always have to be the main characters in the book. Hell, their book might now even be written yet. Those are the ones that get me the most. I now have to wait to see if I'm going to keep hating them. Ha!

For me, One Night in Christmas is a bag of mixed nuts. I really loved Sophia and Adam. Yes, I had issues with them but not that much. Sophia sent so much of her time trying to make sure her friend Autumn was happy that I think she forgot about herself.

It was Autumn and Logan that just drove me nuts. I can honestly say that my eyes Logan is no hero. He's a childish baby who only thinks about himself. My two-year-old nephew has fewer temper tantrums then him. And even though when the chips were down Autumn was going in my eyes do Sophia wrong. I don't want to give to much away so I'm going to stop there. The good news for this story is that it's mostly about Sophia and Adam so I enjoyed 95% of it. The other 5% is Logan and Autumn.

That's the wonderful thing about series you really get to feel like you know the characters and town and become invested in their lives to the point where you pick sides. You really wish you could just yell at them to do it this way! Of course, that would be nuts and make for a weird story. Characters have to be themselves.

Even with those who aren't my favorite, the story is very good and so worth the read. It's fast paced so you'll be done with it before you know.

First, thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to read an e-galley of this book.

Sophie and her best friend, Autumn share a home in Christmas, CO. They also have businesses in the same building right next to each other.

Sophie is widowed, and Autumn is secretly in love with her ex-husband, Logan, who also happens to be Sophie's former brother-in-law. Sophie and Logan don't care for each other, which is an understatement. Sophie, Autumn and their other best friend, Ty are headed to a party when they are in an accident and rescued by another brother, Adam.....who Sophie had a crush on long before she married her husband.

Watch what happens in Christmas, when sparks fly!
