Title: The Body Keeper
Series: Detective Jude Fontaine #3
Author: Anne Frasier:
Genre: mystery/ thriller
Pages:300
Pub date:June 4th 2019
The Thriller Award–winning series continues as Detective Jude Fontaine finds a decades-old connection to missing children that will freeze her blood.
A boy’s frozen body is found trapped in the ice of a Minneapolis lake. The horrifying discovery leads Detective Jude Fontaine and her partner, Uriah Ashby, to more bodies in the ice, all of twelve-year-old boys missing for twenty years.
Then, in one of the worst blizzards the city has ever seen, a four-year-old is abandoned on Jude’s doorstep. The child can’t tell them where he’s from, who his parents are, or how he got there. He doesn’t even know his name.
But in his unspoken language, Jude reads something horrifying—a connection to the dead boys. Now a four-year-old with no name may be the only key to a twenty-year-old, very cold case.

I've read this author before and I loved her first book to this series, so as soon as I saw that she had another book out for it I knew I had to request it, and I'm glad I did because it didn't let me down at all, it pulled me into the story and keep me waiting to read more of it, and I loved seen how far the characters grew and how more they seemed to be more real then they did in the first book, with that said I want to say thank you for letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.
The Body Keeper is a great book, I love this author. The characters and writing are fantastic. I can't wait till the next book from this author.
Frasier has done it again. Her newest book about Jude Fontaine is full of twists and turns about a family run human trafficking organization. The discovery of bodies in a frozen lake, little boys that have been missing for some time, leads Jude and her partner on a complicated investigation. There are surprises and heart-rending scenes that have an impact on Jude that causes her to let down her guard and experience emotions that she has kept at bay for her a long time. She slowly realizes her humanity does not need to be protected, as she discovers an unexpected family. The tragedies caused by her father actually lead to some resolution that, although not a "happy ending," does provide hope for the future. The developing relationship with her partner opens an interesting plot line for Jude that I hope will lead to another book in the series. I'll be waiting eagerly for the next one!
This could be my favorite Frasier to date. I love how descriptive and lyrical her books always are. The Body Keeper takes place in the deep of winter in Minnesota, so you are made to feel smack dab in the midst of it. Freezing cold, snow and frozen rain. Loved how the innocence of a child softens Jude up just a bit. The suspense drew me in and it was hard to stop reading. Human Trafficking is so scary but yet so fascinating and loved the twists and turns that led to the finale of the book. Thank you NetGalley and Anne for the ARC.
Wow, oh wow! Twists, turns, and shocks all over the place with this installment of the Detective Jude Fontaine Mysteries. Jude and Uriah are back trying to solve a new possibly old case. I love Jude’s growth with each book. She opens up more and more in amazing ways. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. Riveted up the the last page!

I have read all the books in this series and have loved them all! It has really interesting, complex characters and the story is always gripping and exciting. I really enjoy how the main characters have developed along the way and am looking forward to reading more!
What an intriguing story. From frozen bodies of young boys being discovered in a lake, to a young abused child being left on Police detective Jude Fontaine doorstep in the middle of a blizzard. The author leads you along on a quite a journey as to what the connection is between them and the shocking yet not so shocking connection it has to Jude's past.
Jude is still broken in certain ways but has certainly come along way from the kidnapped, abused and tortured woman who managed to survive and escape her captor in the first book of the series. She has always been a kickass woman determined to not let the horror of her past define her but still closed off emotionally from almost everyone but her partner.
So many things/people in this book come full circle. I loved the ending that just made you exhale a deep breath and go yes that is how it should be. Great series..
Brilliant i can't wait to read the next book i thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone.
A fitting end to the series and I'm sad to see these characters go. The plot is both terrifying and compelling. The mystery has surprising twists that kept me from guessing the villain. There were a few things I was able to guess ahead of the reveals but it in no way took away from the enjoyment of reading. We get all our questions answered in a satisfying manner. I look forward to what this author comes up with next.
This a dark, dark story, brimming with evil and malevolent characters. As I read this book I found my inner warrior rise up to help Jude Fontaine find these sinister, murderous creatures. This book is not for the faint of heart, but a well written thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. Plus there is enough twists and turns and some surprising revelations for Jude as she transverses intersecting evil paths to answers about her own destiny.
Highly recommended!
Great continuation of the series. Loved seeing the growth in the MC’s, especially Jude. She is a strong female survivor, who has overcome a horrific experience, and came out the other side with a heightened empathy for others that allows her to “read” body language.
Very intriguing plot.
I would highly recommend!
Detective Jude Fontaine has her hands full when she and her partner find a boy frozen in the ice of a Minnesota lake. And he’s not the only victim, Jude finds more bodies in the ice, all boys who’ve been missing for twenty years. When a toddler is left on Jude’s doorstep in the middle of a blizzard, the boy can’t communicate anything to he, even his name, but Jude believes he may be instrumental in solving her twenty year old murders
Wonderful book as usual. The pages just flow, and I stayed awake to finish it, couldnt stop reading. I hope there is a followup book soon!
“””Jude had this unfounded theory that once something unusual happened in your life, you became a magnet for more.””” This is the third book in Anne Frasier’s Detective Jude Fontaine series. Take a frozen body of a teenage boy that’s been missing for 20 years, found trapped under ice during a typical Minnesota blizzard. Add to that a four year old boy, abandoned and abused, left outside Jude’s apartment building. Intrigued?? Then you need to preorder this amazing read. While this is a series, you would never be lost in reading this as a stand alone, but that’s just depriving yourself of The Body Counter and The Body Reader. As always AF’s writing has such amazing flow I get sucked in by the end of the first chapter and cannot put the book down until I reach the very twisted ending. Loved. This. Book!!!
It was a interesting thriller that will horrify you if you are sensitive. I would like to thank netgalley for letting me review this book
