A pleasant surprise. Really good world-building. I really like the culture of Dar and it’s people. It was also easy to picture Argatha and it’s inhabitants. There was a bit of rush with character development thanks to instalove. Abelard and his relationship with his father changed seamlessly. Felice went through a lot. I liked that her hardships occurred before this book so we saw her strength at overcoming them instead of torture porn. Even though the declarations of undying love were rushed, it was easy to how they could fall for each other. They actually got to know each other, aside from their mystical attachments. Even the bad guy was well developed, and not just evil for evil's sake. I hope the author does continue with this series because I absolutely would read the next book.
it was a interesting story with shapeshifting axpects, but sometimes i were confused and didn't manage to follow the story. But nontheless it was interesting..
This was really, really not for me. I love monster romances, and I love beauty and the beast style pairings, but I found this to be a very meagre attempt - I don't expect high literature, but even as comfort food fluff, it fails to deliver.
The writing is clunky and obvious, linear and poorly structured. The plot is wafer thin, and I found myself not caring about the characters at all.
Did not finish.
Interesting take on shifting and humans. It held my attention and kept me reading to see what would happen. It seemed like all the problems everyone had were solved easily. I like the story between Felice and Ayer. It was not instant love and seemed to ease into their relationship. I liked Felice a great deal she was so strong and over came so much. Ayer was a spoiled prince who finally grew up. The story also left off with a start for the next. Good read.
