Beauty for Ashes by Kathleen Neely is a good fit for readers who enjoy stories about second chances, personal growth, and the healing power of love, as the protagonist Nathan confronts his past and finds redemption through writing and a new relationship.

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

Good book, a lot of ups and downs emotionally. I liked what the main character, Nathan, did with his life. The book was a little hard to get into, but the ending was surprising and warm.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

I couldn’t really get into until like 25% through. I felt like it was giving me mixed feelings throughout the beginning of the story. I started feeling it and understanding and it ended up being a really good book. Just have to get through a quarter of the way through and you’ll be happy you did.

This book was an enjoyable read but I found it predictable and that is lacked depth. I liked the characters but found the relationships felt forced in areas and the relationships were rushed too. The ending felt abrupt and the year time jump epilogue felt way to far in advance in keeping with the story.
I liked the redemption angle and the courage Nathan had to come forward despite 10 years passing from the accident.
While I won't be in a hurry to reread the book, I did enjoy it while I was reading it.

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Beauty for Ashes is familiar in that it’s a story of romance and the need to forgive. However, it’s also refreshingly unique in that the protagonist is male, and the person he struggles to forgive is himself. It was enjoyable to follow the process of Nate working through how to forgive himself for what happened in his past, as well as the love story part of the plot. Perhaps my favorite part of the book is the devotional moment the author placed at the end. This really encourages the reader to make personal connections to the book and reflect on the topic of forgiveness in their own lives.

Beauty for Ashes was a good book, but it didn't keep me involved. I felt like too much was thrown into the first couple chapters, time gaps seemed rushed, actions were forced. If he didn't want to go home and tried to avoid it for ten years, he'll go at the drop of a hat twice in a couple weeks? Not buying it Nathan.

The rest of the book continuted to be jumbled in my opinion. A decent read, but too much.
