4.5 stars because I do enjoy it and want to know more, to read the whole book as it is very interesting and kept me on the edge from the beginning. It might start off as some similar books in the genre but I love to read new stories because each one has that different element that makes it bright.
Oh boy - hook, line and sinker! I can't wait to catch the rest of this book! I need to know what happens next... cliff hanger of a preview! It does seem as if this is a common thread of psychological suspense these days, but I'm all in with good writing and good characters. I'm sure this book won't disappoint!
What a great start!
Thank you so much for this short preview of what is sure to be a fantastic thriller.
I’m intrigued now and can’t wait to read what happens next!
Looks like the starter wife may be back in the picture after all...
oh not fair, to get me hooked and leave me hanging. intriguing start, will we have access to the full book to read. unreliable narrators, ex wife, maybe dead, maybe not, new wife, third woman all in all an interesting start
Wow - what a surprise in the middle of the book! Totally didn’t expect it - the best kind! Creepy - creepy good!!!!
For the most part, I enjoyed reading this book. There were times I thought the book dragged out information to understand the story, but maybe that was being too impatient to know what had happened. The one other thing that bothered me was the way Claire was written. I find when I read a story I feel I have a "bond" if you will with the main character. With Claire, I found I just did not like her. But in the end, it all made perfect sense.
I strongly suggest if you haven't read this book, that you do so. It is one heck of a roller coaster ride, and I guarantee whatever assumptions you have while reading this, you'll be proven oh so wrong.
I am giving this a slightly higher rating because the stalker is an intriguing character. There have been a number of this type of story recently, I prefer where the wife is a strong character who doesn’t allow herself to fall apart at the gaslighting. It is too early to tell how she will react but I don’t care for her character so far.
Thank you for the preview and opportunity to give my opinion. # netgalley
Well, so far this seems very intriguing! I love books about ex-wives, new wives, potential newer wives...... where did the e-mail come from and how does the waitress fit in? I am pre-ordering this one! I also really enjoyed Girl Last Seen, so I trust this author!
I'll have to give this preview 3/5 stars. It started out interestingly enough with Colleen narrating. At least, I think it's safe to assume that this is Colleen, the dead 1st wife, narrating. Then the story became boring to me with the current wife, Claire, narrating. This was a sample of the story so, hopefully the storyline picks up the pace. I was only interested in hearing things from Colleen's point of view. Not sure that I will pay to read this book in its entirety.
Thank you for the extended preview, I'm intrigued and have pre ordered the book when it is released, I didn't want the preview to end I was already captivated by the story line... Byron's first wife has committed suicide, his second wife, Claire is 20 yrs younger, supposed to be working on a novel, but lately is living off Byron's savings. Their relationship seems tense the last little while,Her wedding ring has gone missing, she thinks she receives a mysterious email, but it's gone when she returns to look at it. Can't wait for the rest of the book
Sorry, but this sneak peek reads like every other suspense book. The woman who is,the wife, the woman who wants to be the wife, and the writing is not great. Same old, same old. pass on this one.
Wow! How do I get the rest of this book?! I was hooked from the first page and by the time I finished reading the sample, I had no idea what the hell was going on? Who’s the first wife? The second wife? And who’s hiding in the bathroom???
