I liked this book.
It kept me reading and I did like the main characters.

I do warn you that you will most likely cry, I did.

A beautiful and refreshing summer read. Tucker dives into some arguably over done tropes (young love, summer romance, rich girl poor boy) but does them so well and so unexpectedly that it comes off completely original. Surely becoming an instant-read author for me!

Say You Still Love Me? Always K.A Tucker, ALWAYS.

Where to start? The writing? Okay sure, nice and easy to ready with just enough description to allow the reader to concoct their own image of what the surroundings and characters look like. Some books can overdo the descriptions or get lost in those little details that take away from the writing experience (because reading KA Tucker IS AN EXPERIENCE), and this was not one of those unfortunate situations.

The story? Beautiful as always, and it's slowly revealed to the reader without it being shoved in your face. Like a good dessert, you savour it.

K.A Tucker has a way of making you like every character, even the ones you're not supposed to care about or that the main character (Piper) dislikes. When reading, you feel like you know these characters because they're so lifelike - you could've seen them waiting in line at a coffee shop or on the bus.

While not my favourite KA Tucker book (that honour will always go to The Simple Wild), it's a close second.

I really liked the characters in this book and Piper's work and leadership role in her father's company. The flashbacks to the characters in their teen years were fun to read. The chemistry between the two main characters seemed a bit inst-lovey to me but was still definitely good. Overall, this book held my interest and I enjoyed it. Great summer read since half of it takes place at a summer camp for children :) I had a few ups and downs with the plot in this book but many people likely will not feel that way. I will definitely pursue other books by this author in the future.

Thank you to Netgalley & Atria/Simon & Schuster Canada for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hollis’ 2.5 star review

Whereas my first, and only, experience with a book by Tucker was one that was slow to build, and my enjoyment was initially hard-won, it was worth it to get to the end and see the evolution of very distinct characters with very opposite personalities. But at least they had personalities.

My biggest problem with SAY YOU STILL LOVE ME is that it follows the course of a lot of contemporary romances where the woman is in a position of high power. She’s got a meddlesome family member and someone, a man, usually from the old guard, working against her. She’s in a constant battle of speaking up to be heard and fighting to not make waves; carefully dodging fragile male egos and placating the masses (ugh). Additionally she is exceedingly well off and is with fraught family dynamics — and usually has a dick for a father. So, we have all that at play which, personally, already feels a little tired.

Then we reintroduce a long-lost love interest who claims to not remember the heroine. Why is this a thing now? Sure, time passes, but I’m pretty sure none of us actually forget people who have had an impact on our lives, whether good or bad. So, there’s another bit that made me tired.

Unexpectedly this story is told from alternating timeframes, though a single POV, and we get to see the romance back when it first bloomed. I’ll admit that I did mostly like those chapters. Because, as per my earlier comment about personality, I really felt like I knew those kids. I could’ve been friends with them, crushed on them, had fun during the summer with them. Present day Piper was mostly just overworked and frustrated and present day Kyle was just a source of confusion and sexual chemistry for her. There wasn’t much else.. or at least nothing that I can spoil because spoilers.

So I wasn’t really into this second chance romance, or the characters, and the rest of the background noise was mostly a slow build to an inevitable conclusion regarding work drama, but then, bam, something came out of left field and I’m like.. fighting back tears? There was an emotional element introduced that I was unprepared for and I felt the story ended strong. Rushed, as far as a certain resolution goes, but overall stronger because I cared about these people in their present day forms as a result of what happened.

This does feel a little more chick-lit. It’s light on drama, light on angst, and glosses over sex. And with so much of the focus on their younger days, and their firsts, it almost reads like a YA novel. Even though we spend just as much time with their older selves. So, figure that one out (did THE SIMPLE WILD fade to black? I can’t recall) because I sure can’t.

I think I’ll be cherry picking future reads by this author. I obviously didn’t hate it but it’s certainly not the ‘oh I’m so glad I read this’ feeling I had with my last experience. It was just.. fine. Decent. No major complaints but, ultimately, nothing to get excited over, either.

💕Do you ever think about your first love, wondering “what if?” What would you do if you saw them unexpectedly one day?

Say You Still Love Me by K.A Tucker (release August 6th) | 🌟🌟🌟🌟stars
.
Piper and Kyle have an instant connection when they meet at summer camp Wawa as counsellors, despite the fact that Piper comes from a wealthy family with the world at her fingertips, while Kyle is from the wrong side of the tracks. When a life changing incident occurs, they are torn apart...until Piper sees Kyle out of the blue 13 years later.
.
I’m a sucker for a second chance romance, especially one that transitions back and forth from “then” and “now”. This one screams nostalgia. I also loved the summer camp setting. Parent Trap and It Takes Two vibes anyone?🌿
.
Piper Calloway is my favourite Tucker heroine so far. She may be a rich, trust fund girl, but she is likeable instantly because she is down to earth and doesn’t care about money and status. Girl is ballsy, direct, and a boss lady, poised to run her father’s empire. I love that she is so honest with her feelings throughout. Kyle never has to guess or attempt to interpret what she is truly thinking.
.
Kyle Miller is your typical mischievous teenager boy with tattoos from the wrong side of the tracks. I was a little confused about him in the “present day”. I understand why he did what he did, but I still feel that the conflict was one that really could have been solved with some upfront-Piper-esque-honesty. But alas, he is human and was a 17 year old boy 🤷🏻‍♀️
.
The steam, slow burn, and the chemistry between P and K was executed so well. I also just straight up love KA Tucker’s writing style. The development of the quirky supporting characters was also thought out, making them feel real. The fact that Piper, Ash, and Christa maintain their friendship years later is beautiful 💕.
.
I would have liked to see a tinge more of P and K’s relationship and connection in the “Present”. But overall, I really enjoyed this one! Can’t wait for KA Tucker’s next work 😍
.
A massive THANK YOU to KA Tucker, Simon and Schuster Canada, netgalley, and Atria Books for allowing me access to this ARC. I will post this review on my IG account (Instagram.com/amyleabooks) closer to the pub date.

I really enjoyed this book.

A good second chance love story with compelling, believable and heart felt characters.

Kyle and Piper were each really good characters, easy to relate to and cheer for. I usually really love a back in forth in time romance, one where we get to know the characters from the time they first meet each other and then also in the present as they reconnect.
With this story, I found myself really enjoying the scenes from Camp Wawa, but really anticipating the scenes with Kyle and Piper in the present as they meet again after 13 years apart.
The tension was really good and the author did a really good job of making each characters feelings for the other seem believable and genuine.

I especially liked how forward and no nonsense Piper was. I liked that she put it all out there with Kyle and made herself vulnerable while also being really strong and going after what she wanted.
Kyle was a sweet guy with a sad (but not overly tragic past) which I liked. He was easy to like and root for through out the story.

The friendship between Piper, Ashley and Christa was nice, although I wanted a bit more from it. I really like when the secondary characters in a book shine and have defining friendships with the mains characters, although I really liked the friendship between the three girls and how they were each so different but built a friendship on their similar experiences from Camp Wawa, I wanted the friendship to shine a bit more through out the book.

Overall an enjoyable read and perfect for summer.

KA Tucker is a auto-buy author for me. Her ability to write a story that is engaging, emotional and all around explosive are just a few of the reasons why. Say You Still Love Me is no different. In fact, this new release of Tucker's may just be my favourite. The setting of the story, summer camp, completely brought me back to my childhood and I immediately wanted to throw on my jean cut offs, faded camp tee, and go for a canoe paddle across my local lake! That's how immersive her writing became for me. 10/10 recommend. This is the perfect book for summer!

Say You Still Love Me is my first K.A. Tucker novels and it certainly won't be my last.

There was so much that I loved about this book- the fact that the chapters alternate between the past and the present, that it is a second chance romance, that our main character is a badass in a male dominated business, that half the novels is set at a summer camp, etc, etc. It also didn't hurt that the two main characters had a ton of chemistry! I did feel like there relationship was going around in circles and could be frustrating to read about at times, but I actually think that is quite realistic. Relationships are complicated.

Overall, I highly recommend this one and the author's past novels just moved higher up on my TBR!

K.A Tucker has become one of my favourite authors, so I had a feeling that this wouldn't let me down and it absolutely didn't. I only wish I read it while sitting on a beach!
This is the story of Piper and Kyle both in the past when they meet at summer camp, and in the present when Kyle shows up as security guard at Piper's workplace. I really love past and present stories, as I love the experience of reading about characters when they're young and then again when they're older. I could vividly picture the serene camp during those flashback scenes, too and made me nostalgic for the one time I went to a summer camp. I love reading about their romance and how two different people fell in love. Piper is privileged and from a wealthy well-respected family, while Kyle is definitely down on his luck and from the 'wrong' side of town.
Tucker's characters are always so relatable and it's easy to picture them as you or people you know. I like characters that feel like real people, and not just perfect specimens. Her characters are flawed, but in realistic ways and it makes reading her books a lot of fun and I think it can make you see things in new ways.
Tucker is a Canadian author, and my only lament is that I wish she'd base her books IN Canada. Canada is so beautiful and the world needs to hear more stories about our land.
I will definitely be recommending this book to people, and all of her others as well.

“Not your average love story”

Meet Piper – a high powered female executive who isn’t about to let anyone stand in her way. Piper is struggling to find her footing in her father’s company and coming off the heels of a broken engagement. Cue Kyle – a rugged blue-collar dreamboat. This isn’t the first time these two have crossed paths; Kyle and Piper shared a blissful summer of love 13 years ago. As their worlds collide again, they must decide if their teenage love can survive in their harsh adult world.

Okay, I’ll be the first to say that I have repeatedly stated that ‘romances are not for me,’ however, I think I need to edit that statement. I adored this love story; Tucker has developed complex characters that extend past their love stories. Piper has her own life and her own problems outside of her relationship and I think that really makes the characters and story more real for me. I, especially, loved reading about such a strong female. I can confidently say that I will be reading more K.A. Tucker in the future and I think I will be expanding my reading of romance-centric novels.

I didn't have any expectations when I went into reading this novel but if I did, my reading experience and enjoyment for this novel would have surpassed them all.

When it comes to the summer, I find that there's always this feeling of nostalgia that surrounds the season. That's half of the reason why I love to read books set in summer because there's something that is just so enchanting and charming about stories set in that season. It's a reminder of youth and all of the adventures that happened then but at the same time, reminds me to reflect and appreciate small (and big) moments in summer now. This novel captured all of those feelings and all of that nostalgia fully but again, at the same time brought the reader forward to how things can change over time.

Without a doubt, this may be my favourite read for the summer. If not a sole favourite, definitely a contender. I know I will be recommending this book all around. There's something about a romance and summer that just fits. Add on the trope of a 'first love' and I am set!

Some may possibly argue about the logistics or the reality of this story but I definitely was not one to nitpick through the details. It was a story about young love and whether it be realistic or not, I loved it.

After reading this, I want to go out and do a binge shop of K.A. Tucker's other novels. This was my first read of hers and I know it will leave a lasting impression. I'm looking forward to reading more from her and am restraining myself so I can make her novels last.

A headstrong, badass business woman and a man from the wrong side of the tracks? Check!
A summer camp romance? Check!
Lots of angst and tension? Check!

This was absolutely everything I wanted it to be and so much more.

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker. Another NOW vs THEN novel, and I love how these types of stories unfold. Each chapter goes back and forth between Kyle and Piper’s steamy summer together as camp counsellors 13 years earlier and their reuniting again today.
.
After reading and adoring the Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker I was eagerly awaiting the release of SYSLM, especially when I read about the summer camp romance theme. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Kyle at first, but the more you get to learn about him and what happened between these two characters you come back around. Piper is a badass boss woman start to finish. KA Tucker does such a good job of making the secondary characters as important as the main ones. My only comment would be to give Christa more redeeming qualities, and to give either David or Mark a more unique name because I kept mentally interchanging the two and getting confused.

This was another home run heartfelt, romance for this Canadian author. I would absolutely recommend this summertime slow burn. *Best read at the cottage in the sun*. 9/10

Say You Still Love Me is the second book I read by K.A Tucker, the first one being A Simple Wild. A Simple Wild was one of my favourite books this year, so I was really looking forward to Say You Still Love Me. It didn't disappoint!
Piper Calloway is the VP of her father's real estate development firm. A highly successful 29-year old woman, she has it all, except for love. One day, a man shows up from her past- Kyle Miller, her first love whom she met at a summer camp when she was 16. Piper hadn't seen Kyle since leaving the camp. She was devastated when he broke her heart and ghosted her after leaving the camp. Now, years later, Piper wonders what Kyle wants from her.
The story switches from the present to the past, back at camp the summer Piper met Kyle.
I love stories that take place at summer camp, they bring me back to when I went to a camp as a child, so I truly enjoyed this. It was a compelling story of romance, first love, reconnecting with someone from the past, and a little bit of office drama thrown into the mix. I thought the story moved along nicely, I was happy to return to the book after each break in reading. I will be looking out for future books from this author, and may check out some of her past books as well.

K. A. Tucker did it again!
This book was in my most anticipated romance novels of this year and it did not disappoint!
The characters were well written and the relationships so raw and realistic.
Loved the romance and how it was built up, I caught myself many times swooning over Kyle's beautiful words.
Another thing that I loved, was the fact that Piper -our main character- was handling everything like a pro in a male-dominated business
Overall, a great romance novel that I can't recommend enough!!
