When Ash Carlisle learns she has been accepted into the Goode School located in Virginia, she is hoping it will be the perfect escape from her tragic past. But once she arrives she quickly learns that she has just wandered onto a campus that is brimming with secrets, rituals, danger, and a whole other host of issues. The Goode School paints a picture of perfection to all outsiders looking in, but for the young ladies that attend the school they know it's anything but!
Good Girls Lie is a dramatic tale meant to thrill and captivate... with secrets, lies, murder, and deceit brimming within it's pages it's bound to give you that and more! From the very first page this one had me sitting up and taking notice, it 's action packed start instantly lured me in, and it continued surprise with each page that followed. I really enjoyed this newest offering from Ms. Ellison, she penned a compelling story line, that came with elements of suspense, and loads of jaw-dropping drama... needless to say it wasn't hard to get lost between the pages of this one! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it's words are destined to keep you captivated and on the edge of your seat!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley, and I am leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

There were numerous subplots in this story, and some didn't seem totally necessary, as it slowed things down a bit at time. The mystery wasn't a total surprise, but there were a few unexpected twists. I enjoyed the setting of a boarding school, as that's not common in the stories I've read in the past. There were a few discrepancies that muddled things with the time period a bit (pertaining to music and computers - things that weren't around at the same time). I enjoyed the Dean and Ash, but other characters weren't as developed and fell a bit flat. Sure, some things were a bit far-fetched, but that's the fun of fiction. It was an okay read overall for me. I'd be willing to check out future books by this author.

This story had me hooked from the beginning. It was incredibly interesting that the end of the novel was also the first chapter. The way the story unfolded was captivating and it felt like I was in Goode with the characters living the story. The descriptions are great and the book feels well researched and written almost from experience. It is thrilling and nerve wrecking. You need to read this book if you like Thrillers. You just need to. Be Goode.

The Goode School sits atop a hill in Marchburg VA. The daughters of the rich and famous attend. Except for one...a special student from England. But is she who she says she is? Secret societies rule at Goode and if you are not one of them, you are out. Lots of intrigue and psychological torture goes on. Someone is going to pay the price. Recommended for anyone who like twisty plots.

I loved this book... I really like this author. The way that she writes her books is great! The descriptions are vivid and imaginative.
I loved this book. I like drama (not in my life but in fictions that great). I wasn't sure of what was going on and then it all came into light.
Well rounded story, could have used a bit more creepiness and been longer (the story had so many different angles, it could have gone on for a bit longer...)
I love it !
Thank you !

This was my first experience reading a J.T. Ellison book and I enjoyed it. Good Girls Lie is a suspenseful story and a quick read. It is a well- structured, character-driven story with some twists, most of which you won’t see coming.
The beginning of the book is a little slow but I promise you that won’t last long — the pace picks up and never looks back. While it felt more like a YA book as it takes place in a high school, that did not detract from my enjoyment at all. There is suspense, murder, secret societies, intrigue, and lots of secrets! I don’t want to say more because I don’t want to give anything away. Read it - you will be glad you did!
Thank you to Harlequin - Mira and NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

I am a sucker for boarding school mysteries, so I definitely couldn't wait to read Good Girls Lie by JT Ellison. This one started out slow, I had to figure out characters, timelines, etc. After that the story takes off! It had a very creepy, menacing feel. I thought I had it figured out but I was so wrong. This book is different that the other JT Ellison books but not in a bad way. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For those of us who enjoy twisty suspense/thrillers, this one doesn't disappoint! It takes place at a fictional all girls boarding high school, the cream of the crop, most of the girls, Ivy-bound.

I received a free e-copy of Good Girls by J.T. Ellison from NetGalley for my honest review.
This book takes place at an elite all girls boarding school. The girls that are accepted her are demanded excellence. Ash, a new girl, arrives and she along with other girls have lots of secrets.
A murder, rituals and secret societies entangle this story. Although there are plot twists, I struggled connecting with the characters and found certain aspects of the book to be very unbelievable.
I think the story had a good premise, I just felt as though it was lacking in certain areas.

I love school stories. No idea why but possibly because I hated school! Very well written. Drew me in straight away with a murdered student hanging in front of the school. This is a book you’ll love!
4/5 on goodreads

I am a sucker for a good boarding school thriller/mystery! This tale of teenage girls at a prestigious boarding school just for girls, The Goode School, is anything but good! These are some seriously privileged and mean girls.
After her parents' deaths, Ash is shipped off to The Good School. She has changed her name to avoid the publicity of the deaths and all she wants is to study and stay under the radar. Not going to happen. Someone always knows someone who can find out what you want to stay hidden.
The school is full of children of wealth and privilege whose parents are high profile people with little time for their own children, much better to send them to a snooty school that seems perfect on the outside but rotten on the inside. Including the Dean!
I am not sure there was one decent character in this book! Girls start to seriously hurt each other and then the deaths begin. Ash is sure she knows who is behind it, but will anyone believe her now? And is she even Ash??
And once secrets begin to spill out, everyone is left exposed.

Well....this book was really good. Had me hooked from start to finish with a well thought out storyline, a few great reveals and relatable fleshed out characters. Some of the reveals were predictable, however some were a delightful surprise. There was a small amount of confusion over who was who and whose story we were following towards the end, but I think that was more than likely my interpretation rather than an issue with the novel itself. I wouldn't say the story is the most original, but it was a very enjoyable read none the less.
If you are a fan of thrilling, well crafted and interesting novels, I highly recommend picking this up.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Not the usual I expect from JT and started off a bit slow, as well as a few slow parts. However the story still intertwined very well. Rich moody teenage girls in an all girl school, what could possibly go wrong? Drugs, secret societies, affairs, pregnancy and of course murder.

I received a copy of "Good Girls Lie" from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley! I am so glad to have gotten this book when I did. I was in a reading slump but when I started this one the slump ended! Even though I am 38 years old I always enjoy books set in a boarding school/college type environment. I think maybe some of the characters were a little over the top but Ive never been in that type of situation so maybe not? I did love the plot twist though. I didn't see it coming and I loved it!

It is a shame you can't give half stars here, but this book was 3 and a half stars for me.
The whole idea of this book is absolutely very interesting. Although you may think that it is a story like many others, it keeps surprising you along the way. I liked the way the book was narrated, it made for a interesting read. Some parts were very new and smart, while other parts were a bit predictable. The start of the book was a bit long for me to get through, it started out a little slow. But around half-way it became much more interesting to read.
In the end, it wasn't a book that kept me awake at night, but still it really was a very interesting story. I do think that with some little changes it could have been an amazing book. And I will absolutely keep my eye out for any other books by this author.

This book was incredible! I loved the setting, the characters...the storyline. It read easily and although it was confusing in some places I attribute that more to weird kindle formatting for the ARC. This book was excellent and I will be recommending it to all.

Generally, I love the books by JT Ellison. This time, however, after trying multiple times, I just had a horrible time getting into the story. I felt overwhelmed with too much dialogue. I'm sure it's all meant to set up the characters. There is too much insignificant information. This story was just not enough to hold my interest.
This book was gifted to me by NetGalley and the author in return for an honest review.

A fast paced, well plotted thriller! I have read a few books by Ellison and was excited when I heard about Good Girls Lie. It's probably not the most original story, but definitely engaging and a good read!

The book starts with a student found hanging on the gates of a private school. We then learn how this came to happen. Ash Carlisle is the new girl, a secretive Brit who doesn't quite fit in with the rich American girls. The school prides itself on its Honor Code to keep the girls in line but in this book money, power and secrets result in bullying and a handful of deaths. To what length will some of them go to keep their secrets?
There were some good twists and turns and the ending was unexpected and tied things up perfectly. I did find it to be a bit too descriptive and long but still an enjoyable read.
Thank you Netgalley and MIRA books for this ARC.

The author had me at the prologue hook, line and sinker.
There were a few twists and turns that i didn't see coming and I love being surprised in a book.
The wiring was flawless. Though some of the words were big money words that I had to look up.
I'm glad the author included the epilogue it added to the story. Can't wait to read more by this author. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. This was a solid thriller!
