A very long novel depicting the life and trials of Marina M (this is a sequel to the first novel about a sort of Dr Zhivago female type character). Janet Finch is a superb writer, but I never liked Marina in the first book and that didn't change in the second installation unfortunately. Still, if you love historical fiction and want a meaty read, than this is for you
