4.5 Stars for A Dash of Christmas
Christmas is my favourite time of year and what better than a book centred around the holiday season after all it’s a time of year for family and friends to get together and share goodwill.
Carter Montgomery and Emery Monaghan have had a rivalry since their childhood and now thanks to some meddling from a family member it seems the rivalry has heated up and Emery finds herself bang smack in the middle of a awkward situation facing a very unhappy Carter. Emery’s no good fiancé has left her in the middle of a scandal and she needs a way out so when Eliza Montgomery offers a refuge she jumps at the chance not thinking she could be jumping into a confrontation with her childhood rival Carter. Carter is a professional chef running his own restaurant but he needs a new challenge and that could mean working with Emery .... can these two put their past behind them.
This book is full of tension and passion but it’s an enjoyable entertaining read that will draw you in. It can be read as a stand-alone but other ne bets of the Montgomery clan to pay us a visit in this book so you may get more from having read the previous books. I love this family and I love spending the holiday season with them and I’m sure you will to.

4 star review of A Dash Of Christmas (The Montgomery Brothers #9) by Samantha Chase
I love any story that is centred around Christmas; it’s a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate life.
I like Samantha Chase’s style of writing and the story kept me entertained from the first to the last chapter.
This is Carter Montgomery and Emery Monaghan's story. They have had a rivalry since they were children and now thanks to meddling by Carter’s mother Eliza , Emory finds herself smack bang in the middle of an awkward situation with an unhappy Carter.
Carter, a professional chef and restauranteur is at a crossroads and needs to decide what he wants to do next. Emory has agreed to help with the charity cookbook Eliza is creating not knowing that Carter is also involved in the project.
Sparks fly and it seems no matter the subject, the banter between them adds some spice to the story. I liked the sass and fire Emory projected and I loved how she was prepared to knock him down a peg or two when it was needed.
The chemistry between Carter and Emory builds and you can feel the tension and passion.
Although a stand alone, I think you would get more enjoyment if you read the other books in the series first, but that is just my opinion.
I loved catching up on other members of the Montgomery family, it just added another layer to my enjoyment.
I received a copy of this book through the publisher via Netgalley.

Fans of Bella Andre, Susan Mallery, and Jill Shalvis will delight in Samantha Chase’s newest book, A Dash of Christmas. Returning to her beloved Montgomerys, we finally get Carter’s story and it was worth the wait; Chase delivers an enemies to lovers romance that is full of warmth and humor.
The banter between Emery and Carter was fun and flirty, and there was a connection between them that was clear even when they were arguing. With the right amount of drama and personal conflict, Chase was able to create authentic characters that readers are sure to enjoy and connect with.
This was another great winner from Chase and a perfect addition to her Montgomery brothers series. A sweet, fun, and lighthearted romance that readers are sure to enjoy.

A Dash of Christmas is a delicious addition to the Montgomery Brothers series!
Carter Montgomery is a famous chef who has three restaurants in major cities and a fourth in development in Montauk, New York. He's been focusing on this restaurant for some time, but things are just not coming together for him like he wants. He wants this one to feel and be different from his others and landing on the right menu and theme has eluded him thus far. His mother had reached out to him to help her with a charity cookbook, which he agrees to, even though he's not really all that thrilled about having to be involved.
Emery Monaghan's life as she knows it is being blown apart. Her politician fiance has been caught in a cheating scandal and due to the amount of press being garnered over it, she really needs to go into hiding in order to have a moment's peace. Eliza Montgomery is gracious enough to offer Emery a place to stay and also asks for her help with the development of the cookbook. Emery is grateful for the place to stay and for a project to distract her from her imploding life.
While Carter and Emery have known one another for years, they've also been at odds for years. They love to antagonize one another and they spar with the best of them. When they are thrown back into one another's orbit because of the cookbook, neither is happy at first, but as they begin to work together, albeit grudgingly, not only is the chemistry between them undeniable, they figure out that they make a pretty great team. And when I say they make a pretty good team, that is both in and out of the bedroom! While things heat up between the pair, they both still have insecurities that could derail this great thing growing between them. Can they get out of their own way to make it work?
This was a fantastic story and I enjoyed every single minute of it. It was great to see other members of the family and the letters at the end were such a wonderful addition. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone that wouldn't be in a holiday mood after reading this book!

3,5 stars rounded up to four stars.
What a sweet Christmas story! You will fall in love with Emery and Carter who are two old enemies since school. Now they're in their thirties and they still can't stand each other. When they are forced together by Carter's mom I have to admit I was impressed by her matchmaking skills :)
Of course Emery and Carter realize they can actually like each other, be friends and maybe something more.
I really liked this cute story, it was well written, but also because I have a weakness for books that involves Christmas!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the free copy in exchange of an honest review.

Perfect addition to Chase's series. Loved this one!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher. All opinions are my own.

A amazing addition to an amazing series.
Carter was the Montgomery who broke the mold. As a chef, he did not go into the family business (which I guess is marketing) and broke much of his father's expectations. Emery's life is pretty much as messed up as it could get, she was cheated on and her family sided with the enemy. They have known each other since middle school, always hiding their feelings in bickering and competition. But his parents saw through his ruse, and it was inevitable that with a little bit of matchmaking, these two would find their way into each other's arms.
This romance was very believable, there were no extreme circumstances and no unintended miscommunications between the protagonist, they said what was on their mind and did exactly that. The banter between the two made was a super fun, quick read.
I recommend this book. It can be read as a standalone, but it's much better read as a part of the series.
P.S. I loved the Christmas newsletter's (are they a thing? Like Emery I wonder if a family like this could exist in real life. ) at the end, I didn't know I needed it, but it was great to see that all the HEA are still going strong. Are they any more single
Montgomer's left?

Holiday Magic!! This is a great holiday story full of love, romance, forgiveness and family. It made my heart happy to see Carter and Emery finally stop competing with each other and realize they had more in common than not. They made me laugh and get mad and in the end I was swept away in the romance. The update on all the Montgomerys at the end was a great bonus. Awesome catching up and reading how happy everyone is. Loved it!!

A Christmas love story mixed with a lot of cooking. And not so much cooking on Emery's part. I really enjoyed, A Dash of Christmas. I laughed so much. Made me stop and remember some of my family traditions for Christmas when I was a kid.

I loved this. I thought it was an adorable love story and a great add on to the Montgomery series! Thank you to netgalley for the ARC!

Frenemies to lovers romance at Christmas. Her ex fiance is a douchebag and Carter's mom finds a way to help her stay out of the limelight and push Carter to realize his fellings for Emery are more than old class rivalry.

Carter Montgomery broke the family tradition of going into the family business when he decided to go to culinary school and eventually opening a string of successful restaurants. This decision put him at odds with his father and lead to a strained relationship that was never resolved.
Emery Monaghan find herself in the center of a scandal when her fiance' is accused of sexual misconduct and her family sides with him and wants her to stand with him in order to keep up appearances. Eliza Montgomery offers her a much needed refuge from the chaos she is going through. That refuge involved her working with her childhood nemesis Carter. What neither Carter or Emery realizes is that Eliza is working her matchmaking magic and it will be the best thing that ever happened to them.

Where do I even begin with this book? It has everything you could want in a sweet Christmas read that warms your heart and keeps you turning the pages from beginning to end as fast as you can! Samantha Chase knows how to write! That is one thing for sure. I fell in love with all the characters in this book very quickly and the writing just flowed flawlessly.
Emery is caught up in a local scandal involving her fiance. Emery is doing her best to stay out of the spotlight and away from the preying news reporters on her front lawn. When an old friend's mom, Eliza, calls and offers a safe place for Emery to go to while things are in the press with her then fiance, Emery takes her up on the offer. Eliza also offers a small job to Emery helping put together a fundraiser cookbook for a charity that she is on the board of. Emery accepts the offer in hopes that it will keep her mind off of what is going on.
Carter, Eliza's son and Emery's longtime friend, is a cook with several of his own restaurants and has offered to help his mom with the cookbook as well. Carter and Emery have been long time rivals and have always found a way to get at each other with their banter. When Carter finds out that Emery is going to be helping with the cookbook as well, he is not sure how all of this is going to go since he and Emery are always out to get each other seems like. Even though Carter and Emery grew up together, there was never any advances of a relationship or even a thought of it.
With Emery being caught up in all the mess with her fiance and her parents. she needs some support but no one is there for her. Carter feels sorry for her and naturally wants to help her. Will Emery accept his help and sympathy though? What happens when Carter and Emery end up spending more time together than they had expected?
Carter is such a thoughtful and likeable hero to Emery in their story! I love the way that he was always still trying to get back at Emery as well as Emery to him. Their banter back and forth reminded me a lot of my husband and I. I guess that is why I could relate to well to them. The way these two share their Christmas memories together is so heartwarming. I loved how this put you in the Christmas mood! Samantha Chase definitely cooked up a hot one with Carter and Emery. I just wish we could get more of them!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thanks for Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book.

What an amazing book, I loved this story. I loved the banter between Emery and Carter, it was laugh out loud funny and also hot. You could just feel the sexual tension between them. They were explosive together. It was also an emotional journey for both of them. This is a must read.

Love the Christmas magic of this book. Samantha has such a say of describing a scene that I feel like I’m right there. I want to be in that house in Montauk. I love the banter between Carter and Emery. I love how strong Emery is. She can hold her own. One of my favorite parts was the newsletters at the very end. I love the updates.

What a great Christmas romance. Long time friends Emery and Carter reunite after Eliza, Carter's mom has Emery help Carter write a recipe book to be sold at a fundraiser. Carter finds Emery living in his families condo and without knowing Emery is there he a accidentally attacks her. But then they found out her ex boyfriend attorney finds her and tells her she needs to support her ex who has sexual allegations against him. Instead she goes to monatuak with Carter to hide out until her ex boyfriend trial ends. What an amazing read. To hear more read the book

Carter and Emory have known each other since the fifth grade. There has always been a competition between them. Now Emory's life is barreling out of control and Carter's mom swoops in to help.
Watching Emory and Carter learn about each other is a fun read. Their biggest roadblocks are themselves. Witty banter, great to visit past characters from previous books in the series.

This is the first book I have read about the Montgomery family and even though I could follow along it would have been helpful to start at the beginning. Overall this is a well-written contemporary romance, characters that were interesting and a good plot line. I will definitely read more from this author. I received an Advance Reader's Copy e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review..

I loved the story of Emery and Carter. what they both went through in the childhood. They were friends and very competitive. Eliza , Carter's mother matched them up with them working together on a cookbook as Carter is a chef. See if they get together and if they can make it work. A GREAT READ. I highly recommend this book.

I can always rely on Samantha Chase for a feel-good romance. This was a fun book that I read in one sitting.
