I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the picture and I liked the concept, but it seems to be A LOT of text. Most younger kids will have a tough time focusing.

Princess Fuzzypants here: As a kitty myself, let me say this: Nora’s humans do not deserve her. Here she is doing her best trying to save her family and home from threats and all they do is scold her. Harrumph. Clearly they need to be taken before the Kitty Council and severely chastised for their errant behaviour. It is not Nora at fault. It is the humans- as it always is.
On the other paw, it is an entertaining story of a brave kitty who defends her home and humans. The drawings are delightful especially the exceedingly beautiful Nora. I do hope, now that the story has been told, her humans smarten up and treat her like the royalty she deserves.
Five purrs and two paws up.

This is an adorable book that both children and adults can love. In it, the reader learns about how Nora, the cat, does her very best to protect her family from Gustave the Mouse and even aliens from the moon. But does her family understand her? NO. Do they know the reasons for her behaviors? NO. Do they empathize with her? NO. Any reader may be able to relate to the difficulties in Nora's life.

The illustrations in this story are funny and appealing. They very much enhance the text.

Give this one a try for a fun read. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me meet Nora.

I really enjoyed this story but at times I felt so sorry for Nora!

Nora is a lovely cat who is always trying her best to protecting her house or her family but she always seems to have an unfortunate accident where things don’t quite go her way and end with the phrase - No, No, Nora!

It is 3.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads and Amazon, I enjoyed the story and it has some lovely images!

This is the story of a cat that keeps getting blamed for mucking up, but not being praised for the reason she is mucking up.

The cat goes into the cupboard to protect the crackers from the mouse, but gets scolded for going in the cupboard.

It isn't funny. It isn't fun. If anything, it is kind of sad that this cat can't catch a break.

And the culprit of all these problems is a mouse who is dressed up as though he is a stereotype of a Frenchman. Because...the French like cheese, and a mouse likes cheese? I guess.

So that cat keeps getting blamed until some cheese steeling aliens come, and take the mouse away with them, and Nora gets blamed one last time for something that she did while chasing the aliens.

The pictures are ok, but the story is very confusing and rambling, and to throw in space aliens just jumps the shark and goes off the rails.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

This book just isn't for me. I struggled with it even when it was just a book about a cat who gets in trouble for trying to protect the house and its contents from a wily mouse. But I was completely unable to find any love for this book after the aliens came into the picture. That part was just so silly, nonsensical, and contrived that I couldn't understand the point of it all.

Why are the aliens "dishonest"? We're told this more than once, but they appear to simply be harvesting natural resources (just like humans do all the time without being accused of dishonesty). How did the mouse get into the spaceship at the end? How does cheese dust protect an alien ship from being detected? Too many unanswered questions...

The stupid (the idea of a finger-sized laser pointer being able to fit into a cat's nostril) is somewhat offset by the clever (the aliens' spaceships looking like cheese graters, which I found amusing), but not enough for me to really enjoy this one. Some kids might find the ridiculous story funny, but there are probably others who won't want to slog through all the text for such a silly payoff.

Such a cute story that is told from the perspective of the household cat. The illustrations are charming and the wording is perfect for young ones to read with assistance.

I just adore book about pets, so I couldn't resist this one when I saw it. That cover looked cute, and the blurb piqued my interest. Pets who protect their families even though those families may not see it until the end? Sign me up. I want to see what kind of things the kitty does to save his family.

We meet Nora and read how she loves sleeping and getting compliments... because when she is awake she doesn't get those. Oh no, apparently her family thinks she is very naughty. I can just imagine why though if she goes after a mouse with vengeance. :P If I had a cat who acted the way Nora did I may also have thought she was naughty or bad. I mean, the mouse is much smarter and knows to stay away, and what do you, as humans, see? A cat who is climbing on things, making a mess.
Gustave.. what do I have to think of him? I did find it a bit weird he was all dressed up.

I did love that, despite all the things that seemed naughty, the family still loved Nora and tried to help her out. By giving her other things to distract her from doing the so-called naughty things.

And here come the aliens, I wasn't sure about this part. And my first meeting? Still not sure. It just feels odd to go from a naughty cat and a bad mouse to aliens. In the end... I still don't like it that much. I am sorry, it just felt weird and off. Plus, why didn't the family search a bit harder for Nora? That poor thing has something in her nose, something she shouldn't have. If this was my pet I would have turned the house upside down to find her, no matter how long or how late. Then again, this laserthingie in the nose was a plot device/convenience. Without it the story wouldn't have gotten to the point it got now.

I am glad what happened to Gustave though, and I hope with this that Nora can get her reputation back again. Then again, she is protective, so it is only a matter of time before she wants to protect something again. :P

The art was very adorable, I just loved how Nora was drawn. Little cutie!

All in all, I had fun reading it. I am glad I requested this one on Netgalley and that I had the chance to read it.
