A wonderful start to a new series.

This book is about two people, Gwen and Lam, who are brought together and discover they needed each other more than they imagined. They just didn’t know it at the time. Both have suffered at the hands of fate and deserve a new chapter in life. After Gwen’s fiancé leaves her and the twin girls, she returns to Last Stand, Texas, and begins cooking at the Draeger’s ranch, where her mother works. Lam runs the ranch and still in pain over his divorce and son’s death. He stays busy and has no time for much of anything, especially a new relationship. But, fate has a way of working things like this out when you least expect it.

Gwen and Lam had really good chemistry and I enjoyed seeing them get their happily ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of this promising new series. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Sweet on the Cowboy is a great start to this new series, The Draegers of Last Stand, Texas and is my first read by Sasha Summers. The story captivates readers from the very first page with the flow of the writing style, the easy to follow storyline, and the cast of amazing characters.
As first stories go, it had everything I would have expected; angst, personal demons, emotional challenges, heartwarming moments and the required HEA. I look forward to the next in this charming series.

Just what I needed to read on Sunday without plans just lounging around.

Loved the story and especially as it had a real story in it. Really enjoyable and made me hungry most of the time, either for a great food or hunky cowboy 😉

Will definitely read the others when they come out.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the story of Gwen returning to Her hometown and the ranch she lived on with her mother, the cook. Gwen has been to chef school and is an amazing cook. We learn she had been living with her fiancé, also a chef and their twin 3 year old girls. He decided to leave and take all their money and get rid of their home. She is so happy to be away from the stress. The book takes place in Last Stand Texas and she arrives at the ranch of the Draeger family, her mom’s employer. Her plan is to take over cooking for the family and her mom will take a vacation and watch the girls. At first oldest son Lam is against the idea. Then his brother, sister and mom want Gwen to stay. Lam lost his son in an accident and then his wife left a couple years earlier so he is still grieving. We see lots of chemistry between Lam and Gwen. It is very enjoyable to read as the romance plays out. There is some drama too with Gwen’s ex. I am really enjoying all the books taking place in Last Stand. This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Summers but I plan to read the rest of the series when it’s available. I give it 5 stars.

Such a sweet story! Lam and Gwen knew one another when he was a teenager, and she was a child. It had been years since they had seen one another when she and her twin daughters returned to Last Stand, Texas. They had both experienced tremendous pain in the past. Is it possible that they could help each other heal?

It appears that this is the first book in a new series about the Draeger family of Last Stand, Texas. The author did a nice job introducing her readers to the members of the family. This first book was warm, charming, and funny at times. While Lam and Gwen had chemistry in spades, the real stars were her darling three-year-old daughters. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

The story of Lam and Gwen.

She is on his ranch wth her young twin daughters, staying with her mother who is housekeeper at the ranch.

He runs the ranch, shutting himself off from love after the death of his son and his divorce. They are attracted to each other but both have their own reasons for being wary.

Looking forward to the rest of this series.
