I was really looking forward to this book. It was a bit disappointing. I did enjoy if, but not like I had hoped. The characters were a bit flat, and the story a bit boring.

My dear bookworms 📚, if you are looking for your next read, look no further than The Mummy Bloggers by Holly Wainwright. The characters are extremely relatable and outright hilarious in their love / hate relationship with the people and the things that matter to them.

The things these women do to each other to boost their online engagement is outrageously funny. Seeing them struggle with their insecurities and overcome them in the best way they know how is pretty entertaining. I’d say, there’s a lesson to be learned somewhere in there.

I’ll wrap up by saying this is one of my favorite books in 2019.

This was an all out fun, audacious read with a good fist pumping ending. Really enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is a favorite I have read this year. I love books about the hilarity it is to be a mother. I love that there was the aspect of the marriage with humor. This book was a huge disappointment for me. I persevered and finished it but it was hard work.
I felt that there was no substance to it and it was incredibly dull and not interesting

I found this book funny, warm, shocking and realistic. The three bloggers included in the story showed some of the extremes people can go to to create the Instagram perfect lifestyle that maybe they want, or that they want to at least portray.

I was slightly horrified by the lengths that Elle goes to, to project as seemingly perfect image of herself, her family and her life. What worried me even more was I am sure this sort of thing really goes go on, maybe not always to the very lengths she goes to but all the same!

Abi seems more realistic but she is frustrating at the same time. Her blog is a space for green, eco friendliness but she, like most people, ‘slips’ occasionally. Whereas personally, I would want someone to show that side of themselves as no one is perfect, she begins to project an image which is so far removed from herself online, with some pretty extreme opinions.

Liesl was probably the mum who I connected with the most. She is a working mum and is happy to write about the torubles of being busy at work and home. Following a horrible and scary situation with a ‘troll’, Liesl starts to realise she has a platform to make a difference and that being a wife and mum, while not always a bed of roses, can be enjoyed and celebrated.

A great read whether you are yourself a blogger, or you enjoy reading them and following them on platforms like Instagram. I think any fan of ‘chick-lit’ style fiction will like this one, and perhaps even be able to spot some of the traits in these women in people they follow online. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a light hearted read though, as I think it contains a stark warning about the perils of posting online and trying to create an image of someone rather than just being you.

This was okay, but not great. I didn't connect with any of the characters and the writing style wasn't my favorite.

Mom bloggers is a tale of three moms. One to have but envy, one to like but pity, one to annoy the s... Out of you. They are interchangeable stereotypes of women we see all over social media. That said, it is light, fun and quick.

I thought this was a very timely book! I follow a lot of influencer and mummy bloggers are a whole nother story! It was a fun, slightly frothy look at a group of people who have to keep up appearances at an extreme level. I always love Australian books and this glimpse into Australian yummy mummy life really kept me entertained.

This was a cute, mindless summer read. I enjoyed it, but thought it could have been a lot shorter and it would have held my focus better through the end. Also the characters were EXTREME. And I hated Elle, as I’m sure everyone does!

This was a light beach read that I enjoyed in between some heavy reading. Definitely a good thing when you are in the mood for something light to read!

Ah I loved this book. Got to admit, I'm a addict to blogs, especially those related to books, films and motherhood and this book called to me! It was lighthearted, fun and easy to read. I really enjoyed it, exactly what i wanted from this book.

Let me be 100% clear I loved this book.

LOVED it, I mean laughed out loud in public places while reading it loved it.

The Mummy Bloggers had me cackling at Abi’s antics, and Elle’s straight up insane vibes, and even relating strongly to Leisel’s exhausted mommy musings and self deprecation.

In a time where most of us are attaching our sense of self worth to the number of likes and follows we have on social media, this romp into one dark corner of the internet is all too relatable and crazy funny.

It’s perfect for by the pool or wherever your adventures take you this summer!

Everyone online thinks the three mummy bloggers lives are perfect. Why wouldn’t they?

ELLE is the stylish one. Perfect body. Perfect husband. Perfect kids. She’s all the #momgoals but how far will she go to grow her followers and keep up her perfect life?

LEISEL is the working mummy. Balancing her time with long work days to coming home and spending time with her stay at home husband and kids. Isn’t this what she’s always wanted? She writes to her followers who are working mums who can relate. But on the internet not everyone loves you.

ABI is the crunchy mum. We all know one of those (or are one of those). No sugar for the kids, no screen time, organic everything is what she preaches to her followers as the Green Diva but can she practice what she preaches?

A good holiday read. If you love blogging then you’ll love this book. Based around three women and their lives. Tried this book out of interest. Not necessarily my kind of book but an entertaining read.

This novel follows the lives - real and those portrayed online - of three women who all blog about motherhood, but from vastly different angles. The three women are all nominated for the ultimate blogging prize and drama ensues.
I really like the premise, but was a bit. concerned that it might fall into stereotypical territory.
It is an easy read and doesn't fall too much into expected narrative, however the characters are all very familiar. This of course is going to be expected when the whole story is based around the mummy blogger category - there are quite obvious real-life characters who anyone familiar with the genre can recognise in possibly all three characters - but one in particular seemed to me to be a very close Co-opting of an actual Mummy 'influencer' who is popular in certain circles now.
Having said that, it is important for me to note that I'm not 100% sure is this book a re-release or is it only being released on this side of the world in the last month as this novel has been around a while and, crucially, around ever before the particular blogger I referred to above was 'big', so Ms. Wainright must be a very perceptive writer to have created this character so closely to her real-life counterpart who came later!
There is plenty enough in the novel which steers clear of the obvious cliche to make me happy that I read it, and the ending is not what I would have expected either, which is always a bonus.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it.
The book follows the lives of 3 totally different mummy bloggers who's lives are intertwined. You get a insight to what their blogs are all about and how the mums live their lives. They all get nominated for a blogger award and then we see how far they will go to win.
It was a good insight to the world we are living in with social media and shows that things aren't always as rosy as people would like you to think. I just didn't find any of the character that likeable which left me feeling not to bothered about the story. It was a nice easy read just maybe not my cup of tea.

The humor in this book is great. As a mom, I can obviously relate to the characters in this book. Many other moms will be able to as well!
