Thanks to NetGalley and Limerence for the advanced look at this book!
Y'all, this is some fantastic super smut. It's playful, it's beautifully illustrated, and it's... well, super fun sexy times. Definitely not for the kiddos, but I dug it. :D
Honestly, there's nothing wrong wit the title, It simply wasn't for me. I was drawn in by the art, but the story didn't catch me,
I gave this graphic novel 4/5 stars because the illustrations are done really well and I loved all the subtle colors. It was a little too graphic at times, but I was expecting that so it didn't bother me.
This was a super fun collection of definitely-NSFW graphic stories. I haven't seen anything quite like this before and really enjoyed the range of different people, situations and emotions. Although all were super kinky, I was surprised but just how lovely they still managed to be! All the characters were so interesting - I just wish the stories had been longer, or there had been more of them!
I was taken aback when I started reading this as I must have missed the genre when choosing this to review from Netgalley. If you have missed it, this is very NSFW.
Anyway, I like that this is about the different and diverse relationships of superheroes. Even though it touches on the diverse types of relationships, I left feeling empty after finishing reading this.
This book is as valuable a read as it is a fun one. The diversity alone within these pages makes it such a valuable resource, not only for education but just so people see themselves represented. Especially because I grew up in Texas, which teaches abstinence-only sex ed, it was really different yet inspiring to have access to something like this and to be able to add it to an arsenal of books to recommend others. Stunning, brilliant work.
Although this is a hilarious, graphic - graphic novel, this not something for everyone. The images are very graphic and I would guess that most libraries would not put this on their shelves unless their patrons and collection coordinator are very open-minded. With that said, I thought it was hilarious and a great read. It reminded me of a funny version of the Saga graphic novel series. Once again, be prepared for the sexually explicit content, and remember it is a graphic novel so that includes the images.
A fun, creative read. I have never seen anything like it before. The artwork is cute though I personally prefer more realistic drawings. If you like fun stories and you don’t mind the explicit content, you’ll definitely love this book!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect of this one going in, but had heard that it was sex positive and composed of a number of stories including superheroes and/or villains. I found myself wishing each story was longer, and that there was more in depth regarding the different characters. If there will be further stories I hope they expand more and give more information regarding the characters and their personalities. Still, this was a fun graphic novel with some very interesting characters and situations and was an enjoyable read!
The stories were creative and good at building sexual tension, they were just all about specific fetishes that I'm not into. I think it would be great for someone exploring their sexuality.
2.5 stars.
Unfortunately this just wasn't really for me.
I honestly don't know why, i think because the stories are so short I could not get into them. I think however if you like the synopsis and you go in knowing what this is you will enjoy it.
Short smutty graphic stories. I will however say this was diverse and has something for mostly everyone.
ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Really fun sexy stories including LGBTQ and superheroes :)
I am not fun of the art style but overall I really enjoyed it.
Highly recommend it!
I got an ARC of this book.
I got this based on the title and cover alone. I did not read the description until after, you know the way I normally do things when I see a title like this one.
The book has five short stories. Each one focuses on a different pairing. There are trans men, women with other women, men with other men, and there is even an inter-species relationship (or two). I am all for this amount of diversity, though the book was still lacking something for me.
The trans man scene was fun, but eh. I am happy that a trans man was included and I would have killed to see this when I was starting my transition. Now, it just felt a bit weak. Most of the conversation is about his packer. I wouldn't have minded if he had been the top, but he wasn't. There is nothing wrong with a trans man bottoming (I can go full TMI if needed, but my father has access to my reviews so lets leave it at I have NO problems with trans men bottoming *cough*), but I needed something more exciting in this story for it to really capture me.
The story that really stood out for me was the last one. There was a hitman who had "gone soft". He helped a kid survive in a situation that he shouldn't have been in, but it messed with his tough guy image. He called his husband and his husband said he would help. The husband is this chubby black man who is perfection. He is clearly the dom to the hitman's sub. Instead of using "sir" they use "dear". Also the dom was a bottom which HELL YES. I was super into this in so many ways. It was diverse, it was the most engaging story of the bunch, and I could have read about them forever.
Each of the stories had something that was wonderful, but they all fell just slightly short of something. I don't know what it was. Maybe it was the lack of condoms, though there was a conversation about testing and statuses in one of the stories. Maybe it was they seemed so emotional and soft, compared to what I am used to (though I 100% preferred these to any of the others I have seen). I don't know. There was something missing, but I am not sure what.
I gave this a 3.5 stars out of 5!
If you're looking for a spicy graphic novel with light hearted, superhero and supervillain fluff, then this book just might be for you!
Erotica isn't really my thing but nevertheless, I decided to read this graphic novel with hope that the positive representation of characters and sex would be done right. And let me say, I wasn't disappointed! This graphic novel does sex education, LGBT and plus size postivity the right way!
The first story was my least favourite, which explains why it took my a little while to get into it. But after that, I I started to like it even more.
After reading other people's reviews on Goodreads, I noticed that a lot of the reviews mentioned how they didn't like the art style. Personally, I don't see where they're coming from. The illustrations are really good! Yes, this particular style may not be my favourite, but it certainly is not bad!.
This was so fun! Everything the title said it would be. Sexy, and fun, but also surprisingly sweet. I loved that it was inclusive and had a spotlight on consent. The only thing that would have made it better would have been for the stories to be longer.
This is a really cute collection of sexy short stories in comic form. The first story was my favorite and I’d really like to read more of 5heir story. :) I love the diversity of this collection: m/m, f/f, genderfluid/female identifying, mixed race couples, various power dynamics, consent, various kinks/bedroom play, all just depicted so well.
Superhero/villain erotica!!!
That’s it, that’s all you need to know. But seriously this was a wonderful graphic novella collection full of sexy diverse characters not just of different backgrounds but different sexualities as well!
I recommend this if you love superheroes falling and love and having sex.
Enjoy!
I really enjoyed this collection of stories! I really loved this art style, plus it being so diverse in its cast of characters was amazing. All these different types of sexual experiences through the eyes of all different types of people was so interesting. The whole super hero/super villain aspect just added to the fun!
3.5 stars
NSFW!!!!! (Probably 10x the number of drawings of private parts compared to a Saga installment, just FYI).
These are fun and sexy, and sex positive in almost every conceivable way. Even the superhero stories made sense! (You know how hard it is to find erotica that makes sense?!)
The art is not entirely to my liking, but still...
The story was not to my liking
The drawings were very good but it was all too focused on sex and I felt there wasn’t a concrete storyline. Others may like a plot based completely on sex but this was not for me.
