A Story Like Ours is the sequel to A Love Like Yours, and when I finished the first book I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait long to get my hands on the second book and luckily I didn't. A Story Like Ours was an emotional journey, but definitely one worth taking. I will say that it is necessary to have read the first book in this duet to fully understand and enjoy this book.
I don't want to say too much about what happens in this book because it is important to allow it to unfold. There is no doubt that Lucy and Sam are tested in many ways throughout this book, but the connection they have and the obvious love they share helps them to navigate all that is thrown at them. It's emotional, it's heartbreaking, it's hopeful and it's beautiful.
Robin Huber did a wonderful job writing the conclusion to Lucy and Sam's story. It felt right and it felt real. I definitely felt every emotion you possibly could throughout this book and that to me says that the author was hitting on all of the right points. While this may be the second book Robin Huber has released, I for one look forward to more of her work.
I was lucky enough to read the first book in this series, A Love Like Yours, just days ago and from the second I started reading, I knew I'd found a gem. The story of Sam and Lucy is an exceptional one, a rocky road paved with heartache and longing, victories and losses, triumph and defeat. But it was always so hopeful, so romantic, so breathtakingly beautiful, and as soon as I turned the last page of book 1, I was sure I wouldn't be able to handle a lengthy wait for this sequel.
Well fortunately I didn't have to wait long but even if I had, A Story Like Ours would've been well worth the wait. This sequel was arguably more complicated than the first book. It was bumpy and so emotional and it never let me forget just how far these characters had come.
I swooned over how deliciously romantic this story was. My heart ached over how gut wrenching things got. I was overcome with grief and with joy and with awe on every page of this entire series. It was just so good, so beautifully written, so RIGHT. I adored it. Robin Huber is an author to watch and I look forward to reading more of her work.
