Then we have excerpts from the following books:
Legacy and the Queen by Annie Matthew - This one is Carrie Soto but fantasy. I mean it gives similar vibes but I didn't actually read Carrie Soto, so I can't know for sure. However, this book starts out pretty great and I can't wait to get to this one someday.
The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake - I knew of this book (and had it on my tbr) since it came out, but for some reason when I decluttered I took this one off.
Now that I got to read an excerpt from it I can say with all confidence that is my favourite in the whole book and it's really high on my tbr! Fast-paced but also as slow as you need in order to meet the characters and the events. Really need to get to this one.
Coral by Sara Ella - From the summary I thought this is H2O (tv show) vibes, but it was kind of disappointing. The characters are cliche and the story dragged. But the plot sounds pretty good, so who knows?
I'm Not Dying with You Tonight by Kimberly Jones - Heard of this one before but as I'm not a YA Contemporary fan nor a football fan, it was a pass.
However, this excerpt made me really curious of how the story unfolds. I like both main characters and I might give this one a go one day.
Dear Haiti, Love Alaine by Maika Moulite - Heard of this before, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it's within a "journal" format, which is my favourite thing in books.
However, this seemed a bit chopped and all over the place. Still, I might give it a try.
Harvey Comes Home by Colleen Nelson - Pretty heartbreaking, although the synopsis sounds good.
Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart - For a debut, it sounds pretty great and heartbreaking. But although it tackles a great subject, I'm not a fan of the characters and I feel like I'm not going to read this one.
Home Girl by Alex Wheatle - The last one is among my least favourites after Coral, I think. The main character annoyed me, although I'm guessing this is the point at first.
I won't get to this one.
Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.
This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.
I thought I reviewed this but I defn love these little buzz books. Defn good heads up of what's coming out
These are a great way to explore new authors and see what's coming at any time. I do find that I tend to like a few of the titles and want to read more, but it's hard to remember which ones. I know that's what Goodreads is for. This collection was no exception. A few authors who I had never heard of - well, I had never actually heard of most of the authors here - and enough of a teaser to get me intrigued. More to come I'm sure.
I always love picking up these Buzz Booklets to see snippets of upcoming books. Either to get glimpses of my most anticipated or to see others that I might or might not read!
This reminded me of the Scholastic book order forms I used to bring home as a kid. So many books that pique my interest, how do I choose?!
The PubLunch Buzz Books samples are always a great collection. A solid selection of books to look forward too!
Great options for the 2019 catalog. I am not a huge fan of these sampler type listings though they are extremely helpful in showing me titles that I might not have heard of before.
Really enjoy these little samplers great getting to read a little teaser of some upcoming books. It's a great way to see if you'll like them and should put them on your tbr.
A nice selection of samples from a bunch of YA novels coming in late 2019/early 2020. Some of the books are more interesting than others, but that's normally what happens with these collections anyway.
Why does this need a review? I mean thank you for letting me know the options coming out. I’m not sure what else to write for this.
I always enjoy the buzz books previews, it is helpful to see what is being marketed as a "buzz book" of the season.
I never have anything bad to say about these books because it gives you a sneak peek into upcoming releases. There is always a good mix of authors being featured along with release dates. Being able to read excepts definitely gives it another element because there have been books I wasn't sure about buying and then having those few chapters ended up selling me on the book.
I love these because most of the time I discover a book coming out that I didn't know about at first or some hidden gems. It's a great resource to keep you updated on upcoming books.
I simply love these Buzz books filled with upcoming books. It helps me find books for my tbr list, know if a favorite author or a debut author is releasing a new book. It hypes me up for the next season of releases!
I read this a while back but I gotta say how I enjoy the fact that Buzz books does these samplers as it does give me a good idea of launches that are upcoming. I get a better idea of what to look out for and put on my tbr.
As with most Book Buzz editions, I appreciated the many book excerpts, and the opportunity to learn about new titles before they're published! What I really enjoy about the Young Adult edition is that the titles included are ones that are sure to be exciting and will cause a buzz. This edition included the sequel to Tomi Adeyemi's Blockbuster hit Children of Blood and Bone, as well as anticipated sequels by holly black, Natasha Nagan, Veronica Roth, and more! I will DEFINITELY be making reviewing my Book Buzz a priority as soon as it's released!
Love these little teasers of upcoming novels! It gives readers a glimpse of what is coming out and what to be excited to look forward to!
What a great way for librarians and all book people to get a look at new titles. Thanks to the publishers.
One of the best parts about being a member of NetGalley! Love getting these and finding new authors each season!
