Peyton Kerr suffered a horrible loss when her husband was killed in a car accident. It has been a year since his tragic death and she has made the move to Stoney Creek, Maine…the last vacation place where they were so happy. There she meets some wonderful new friends including Detective Boone Knight. The attraction between Peyton and Boone is immediate and hot, but neither one of them are ready for another relationship. She needs time to grieve and he is still recovering from his first wife’s betrayal and their divorce. When a body is found in Peyton’s new lingerie store, a body that resembles Peyton, was this a robbery gone bad or something more sinister? When Peyton is almost killed in an accident, Boone and the department believe that someone is targeting Peyton…but why? A wonderful first book in this new series about danger, love and new beginnings. I very much look forward to the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
I love this new series by Stacey Kennedy! Peyton leaves Seattle to resettle in Stony Creek to start her life anew and leave tragedy and sadness behind. Little did she know, that she would a new purpose, a new family where she is. Boone is a local detective and brother to Kinsley, the club owner. Their first encounter marks a turn in each of their lives. This is a story of survival and rebirth as the past is left behind and a clear future is exposed to Boone and Peyton. The story is full of crazy characters that I am sure, all have stories to be told in the future. The chemistry between Boone and Peyton is intense and Stacey was able to use this wrap the suspense and thrill of danger in one neat package that will make your head spin with it’s conclusion that you did not see coming. I can’t wait to read the next instalment of this series. I honestly reviewed an arc.
A recent widow, Peyton, wants a fresh start so she moves to a small town and becomes a small business owner. Stoney Creek, Maine seems to be the perfect place to start over until it looks like someone is out to kill her. Boone is the police detective investigating the case. He's immediately attracted to Peyton and wants to protect her at all costs. Great romantic suspense with lots of plot twists make this a good read.
Naughty Stranger
by Stacy Kennedy
Peyton Kerr is a young widow, whose looking for a fresh new start at the last place she was happy.
Boone Knight was a man deceived by two women, and has no need for another.
So what happens when 2 broken hearted people meet? A hot night and promises of not fall in love with each other.
This is an emotional read with the mix of romance and suspense! Right at the start you could feel the heart ache and that’s just the prologue. Then the suspense kicks in a couple chapters later. The plot had such a great layout with the meeting of two broken hearts and a bunch of unexpected twists. Murder, break-ins, accidents and more, but I don’t want to give it away!
Read it for yourself and with a Kleenex handy! I think you’ll love it as much as I did!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From the moment I read the summary I had the feeling I was going to like this book, and I'm glad I wasn't wrong. The novel had the perfect amount of romance and mystery put together. The main characters were insta-lust to love but it worked, both characters just needed a second chance and their attraction and love felt believable. The short snippet at the end made me look forward to book #2.
4 1/2 stars.
This was such an awesome romantic suspense from Stacy Kennedy. I really enjoyed the wonderful use of balance between the sweet and sexy and the suspenseful and scary. I love Peyton and Boone as characters and as a couple. Both have been torn apart by their pasts and even though their situations are different, they are no less life changing. They meet when Peyton moves to the small town of Stony Creek where Boone is a police officer. Initially neither wants anything serious, but they become super close during the murder investigation surrounding Peyton's shop and soon they know they never want to be apart. Great story! I am really looking forward to Book 2 after that teaser!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
Ms. Kennedy is a new to me author and I AM A FAN! This story had a little bit of everything. A sexy cop , a widow, murder , mystery, and smoking hot off the charts chemistry. Boone Knight , is a local detective along with his life long friends Asher and Rhett .
Payton is on a mission to move on. Move on from her grief, from her old life back when she was a Mrs and her life as a nurse. This is what brings her cross country to Maine and Boone Knight. Having bought a local lingerie store, right next to the local bar, owned by Kingsley Knight Celebrating her new shop and meeting her new neighbor, leads to a drunken kiss between Boone and Payton. Wanting to forget , she keeps her distance from Boone, but little does she know a dead body is about to end up in her new shop.
The small town is rocked by the murder of a young innocent lady and even more shocking is the location of the body. Determined to find out who is guilty of murder and his unwavering need to protect Payton , Boone becomes her everything. I thought that maybe I would have a problem with this instant connection they shared, but it works very well. This is an all encompassing story, all the supporting characters are important to the story, but not overpowering the leads at all. I loved the friendships that were formed between Remy, Kingsley and Payton. It actually was my favorite part of the story.
The ‘whodunnit “ that ensues keeps you guessing. Boone and his boys are all over the placing in trying to find the suspect and figure out why Payton is a target. When it becomes clear that the women are not safe Boone, insists that Payton, has round the clock protection and he is all to happy to provide that. Leading Payton and Boone, to some smoking hot encounters. As a reader you are treated to amazing chemistry.
The ending leads into book 2 which should be Remy and Asher’s story, which I am totally here for.!!!
This was a good second chance story for both our main characters. It isn't a second chance for them as a couple but more like a second chance in life.
Peyton was happily married, living a normal life back in Seattle with her husband when tragedy strikes. A year after her husband was killed in a car accident, she goes back to the place where she was last happy, Stone Creek.
Boone's a changed man. After moving back home after his wife betrayed him, he doesn't think marriage will ever be an option for him again. When Peyton moves to town, there's an undeniable attraction between them.
First, I am so happy that this series is set in a small town in Maine. I always seem to enjoy books set in a small town in Maine and this has proved to be the same. I love when you get a several side characters that really add to the story. When a setting is in a small town, you get that. I loved all the side characters but I'm cautious about Rhett. You'll know why when you read this book.
Secondly, despite Boone and Peyton starting out not wanting relationships, their story never felt casual. That's a good thing for me. I never like casual so I was happy to see these two were invested even if they didn't think they were.
Boone drew me in right away. His physical description, the fact that he's a detective and very protective, and even the fact that he rides a motorcycle. Peyton wasn't really all that special but she was a nice person, got along with everyone and you do get a couple of fun girlfriends in Kinsley and Remy.
I enjoyed Boone and Peyton's story and I'm looking forward to what's to come next.
This was a very good story from an author I have read in the past. Well developed and likeable characters and a foreshadow for the future stories in the series. If I had any criticism, it would be that the story reaches its peak, but then ends too quickly.
Stacey Kennedy is a new author to me and I was pleasantly surprised to read such a well-balanced book. It had likable main characters with interesting backstories and a varied cast of supporting characters, an interesting plot that did justice to both romance and mystery. I was engaged from the start and I am now looking forward to the rest of the series.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Good start to a new series. Peyton and Boone are hot from the first kiss. There's angst and a bad guy, plus hot sex. It just lacked some of the usual spark that I'm used to from Ms. Kennedy. Lots of peeps in Stoney Creek to find their own HEAs.
Full review to be published online in mid June.
NAUGHTY STRANGER is the first book in Stacey Kennedy's new 'Dangerous Love' series; which is much more mainstream and less erotic than some of the author's previous books. Boone is a detective who has had his life torn apart by his ex. Peyton's world has been destroyed by tragedy. Neither are looking for forever; but forever may have just found them.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I loved this little gem! It had suspense, romance, and 2 very deserving characters of a HEA. Even though the mystery wasn't hard to solve, it made this book that much better. I also sensed a bit of one of my favorite author's writing style, which made this book that much better.
The first time Peyton sees Boone, she grabs him and kisses him passionately. That pretty much sets the rhythm for the book. I love, Naughty Stranger.
How does Stacey do it. Every story (to me) is a hit! This is another great new series. Peyton is leaving her past behind and moving to the last place she was happy. Her husband Adam has died and she needs to leave that life behind (and just wait till you read about his death...poor Peyton). Boone is a detective and had his life torn upside down by his ex. Neither are look for forever. Stacey draws you in right away with the "connection.... WHAT A FIRST KISS! I loved Boone's sister Kinsley who becomes her new best friend in town. This story gives you drama, suspense, hot freaking chemistry and hotter sex and AWWWWW LOVE! It has a HEA and amazing characters who I hope are next in line in the series. Stacey really kept me on my toes because I had it all wrong in the who done it! GREAT GREAT WORK STACEY!!! You never ever disappoint me!

What a perfect blend of suspense and romance! I really enjoyed this read and am so excited for future books to come. (The teaser at the end had me screaming at my kindle! I cannot wait for the story of the next couple.) This was the first book by Stacey Kennedy for me and it most definitely will not be the last.

Boone and Peyton had intense chemistry and their story pretty much sucked me in from the first page. As engaging as their characters were, my favourite thing about them was the mystery with their painful pasts. The author did a fantastic job writing this romantic suspense.
I knocked a star off because although the story was amazing, I did have the plot twist figured out at the beginning - which was disappointing to me, I really thought the author was going to throw a wrench into the plot and shock me with the "who did it." Other than that - it was perfect for me.

I read this book in one day because I couldn't put it down - I highly recommend it to all of my book buddies who love a good hot-cop/widow story. You will fall in love with Boone and Peyton, as well as all of their friends.
This is no only a red hot romance, but also a mystery! Boone is a small-town detective, and Peyton is the new owner of a lingerie shop. Their chemistry came through the first time they met, but both had been hurt before, and neither was looking for a relationship. They tried to stay away from each other, until the day that Peyton arrived at her shop to a woman who looked like her dead in the office. Their romance and the murder mystery both took off from there. Along the way, Boone and Peyton fell in love and made peace with the painful episodes from their pasts. I can hardly wait for the next book in this new series!
The perfect blend of romance and suspense, Naughty Stranger is a fast moving adventure. Stacey Kennedy finds just the right balance of steam, sweetness, suspense and sad moments, all combined with two leading characters you can’t help but want to find love again. The story follows Peyton, a young widow who moves to a small town in hopes of finding a new, happier life. She meets Boone soon after she arrives, a detective whose divorce has left him unwilling to open his heart to another woman. They are both a little broken when they meet, but a murder investigation brings them closer together as they both open up about their painful pasts and look toward the future.
I’ve never read anything by Stacey Kennedy, but the cover intrigued me, so when NetGalley offered me an ARC in exchange for an honest review, I thought I’d give the book a chance. I am so glad that I did! I haven’t read any romantic suspense in awhile, and this is a great one. The writing style drew me into the story, the likeable characters kept me connected, and the suspense combined with the romance made me turn the pages late into the night. I am definitely looking forward to reading the story Kennedy set up at the end of this book as well.
Naughty Stranger is book #1 in the new Dangerous Love series by author Stacey Kennedy.
A tragic accident changed Peyton's life forever. A year later she moves across the country to the town where she last felt true happiness. She buys a house and a lingerie store hoping to escape the pain. Boone, a local police detective, doesn't believe he'll ever be in love again after his marriage ended badly. When they first meet, they are instantly drawn to each other and after a while agree to a casual affair. Unfortunately, a body turns up in Peyton's store and Boone, along with his close friends who are also police, must work hard to find out who killed the woman. While Peyton and Boone are enjoying their time together, someone is causing havoc in the small town and Peyton may be the target.
Will they be able to let go of their past hurts and allow themselves to love again? Will Boone be able to keep Peyton safe from the merciless killer?
I loved this story and read it in one day. Loved how Peyton's strength grew despite the hardships and how Boone was there to help her along the way. I instantly fell in love with the main characters and the secondary characters are intriguing. I'm looking to reading their stories when released.
*I received an advanced readers copy from NetGalley for an honest review.*
Peyton goes to Maine after a tragic accident almost destroys her. She goes to the last place she was happy, Stoney Creek. She buys a house and opens a lingerie store. Boone is a detective and has been married before and doesn’t plan on doing it again. When he meets Peyton, they both just want a casual fling. When a body is found in her shop, Boone and his friends, who are cops too, can’t figure out why the young woman was killed. When Peyton is involved in a car accident, they believe it all has to do with her. Can they figure out who is after Peyton before something bad happens to her? Awesome story that I couldn’t put down. Action, suspense, and sex. Two people who’s past has almost defeated them but find each other and a second chance at love. This is the first in this series and can’t wait to read what happens next. * Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *
