I received an ARC of this book by net galley from my honest review. This was my first book in this series. I originally read the description and was hooked. I like paranormal, ghosts and hauntings in particular, so I was excited to read this one. Overall I enjoyed it, but I think I would have liked it so much more if I had the background with the characters. I am looking forward to going back and reading earlier books in the series. I did enjoy this one and I recommend it to fans of this genre, this author, or those that have been reading about these characters. Enjoyable!
I think reading previous books from the series would have provided background into the unique group of FBI agents that can communicate with the dead. The story was a bit bizarre and very disjointed. There were so many characters that I found the story a bit difficult to follow at times. There was an HEA and some good interaction between Joe and Keri at times.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest review.
I honestly don't know how to characterize this latest in a long (long) running series but here goes my attempt- there are ghosts, there's a murder, and there's a romance. It's paranormal and it's mystery and of course it's a love story. Gosh that's a lot. Kerri and Joe are part of a team which plans to investigate whether there are ghosts at an inn in a creepy town in Pennsylvania. What they find, however, is the body of a murdered FBI agent. Oh, and a ghost. No spoilers but this does trip along merrily. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I'm new to this author but her fans will no doubt eat this up.
This was my first novel by Heather Graham and also my first Krewe of Hunters story. I liked that the mystery from the past informed the mystery in the present. The characters were interesting and complex. The twists in the second half of the story were entertaining. I really enjoyed the paranormal aspects of the book. I hope that there will be further stories featuring Joe, Dallas, Keri and Carl. I would definitely read more Krewe Hunters stories as well as more books by Heather Graham.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Beyond amazing I enjoyed this book so very much. The characters and storyline were fantastic. The ending I did not see coming Could not put down nor did I want to.

Goodreads synopsis:
THE TRUTH IS SCARIER THAN FICTION
Kerri Wolf has joined the crew of The Seekers, a show that searches for paranormal phenomena, as they explore a supposedly haunted old inn on the road between Philadelphia and Harrisburg. The place is famous for its warm welcome—and infamous for being the site of an ax murder rampage in the 1920s. They’ve barely begun when a very real dead body is discovered in the basement. As a nonfiction author, Kerri is supposed to be the rational one, but she can’t explain a terrifying apparition that seems to be both a threat and a warning.
Former detective Joe Dunhill knows what she’s going through—the strange gift of being able to see and talk to the dead is a struggle he shares. A new member of the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters, he’s on the team investigating the disturbing death. The town is steeped in old-fashioned superstition, and the deeper Joe and Kerri plunge into the dark secrets of the inn, the closer they get to a devastating truth. Will a bloody history be repeated? Or can the spirits of the past reach out to stop a killer?

This is the twenty-eighth book in the Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham.
I have to admit this book did start out pretty slow. There was a lot to introduce in the beginnings besides the normal Krewe characters and the main leads. There were also a plethora of townsfolk and Truth Seekers cast members.
Keri Wolf was invited by popular tv and movie star Carl to assist with the opening of his newly purchased haunted inn. Carl brought in the Truth Seekers to do a paranormal investigation to draw all sorts of possible clients to his new venture.
Joe Dunhill was a former cop who discovered he had a knack for seeing dead people. He is nearing an entrance to the FBI academy and to join the Krewe but he is brought in on this investigation by Dallas as a consultant.
Things turn deadly when the body of an FBI agent is found murdered on a makeshift alter in the inn’s basement. Keri sees who she later realizes was the ghost of a former resident. She, Joe, Dallas and Carl make an unlikely foursome as they look for clues to discover the killer.
I thought this book was very good. Since there was so much paranormal activity in the beginning with the Truth Seekers and the investigation into the murder the romance between Keri and Joe takes a while to unfold. But it is worth it so keep plodding through the meat at the beginning. Lots of info is duped up front.
This book is not as high-drama as some of the previous books but it is right up there with the personal stories of the cast. Purely enjoyable read. Check this one out for sure.
Highly recommended.
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
I read a few of Graham's other novels a few years back and really liked them - THE SEEKERS is no exception. This book combines several genres into one compelling story - it includes aspects of crime fiction, paranormal fiction, a little bit mystery-thriller, and crime novel. The haunted hotel in this story was my favorite aspect - I am a sucker for novels that include or revolve around creepy old houses, especially those that are haunted. If you are into paranormal stories about ghosts or also love creepy houses then this one is for you. Thank you to NetGalley for a chance to read and review this novel.
The Seekers a paranormal group are excited to look for spirits in an old tavern where multiple murders occurred.
When an FBI Agent is found dead in the cellar of the tavern, the big guns are called in. The Krewe Hunters are a group of Agents who have the special ability of being able to see and at times communicate with the dead. This has helped them solve crimes. Joe and Dallas are at the tavern with the Seekers and their true crime historian, Kari.
Little do these people know the danger they are about to encounter. The murderers are near but how near will be a life or death situation.
A novel of mystery, romance, and murder.
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book
a kidnapped girl
a hit and run
a murdered fbi agent found on an altar as a sacrifice
haunted tavern with ghosts
rumours of a cult
it has all the elements one would want but i felt it lacked something i am sorry to say..though i kept reading as i wanted to find out who were in the cult and why
it hasnt put me off reading this author again but i wanted more ghost interaction though i did find it amusing that an detective sees a ghost talks to a ghost twice and then quits his job and applies to be a member of krewe, hope the others books in this series are a bit better than this one
This is part of a continuing series. I haven’t read any of the prior books, and I was able to follow this story, as it can be read as a standalone.
I enjoy shows like “Criminal Minds,” and this book reminded me a bit of that, with a bit of “Ghost Hunters” thrown in, as a paranormal group called the Truth Seekers is called to investigate an inn in Pennsylvania, along with a true crime writer. Things change after an FBI agent is found dead in the inn’s basement. I would’ve enjoyed a bit more of the ghost angle, but the romance angle wasn’t overwhelming, though the relationship did develop a bit too quickly. If you’ve read all the books, you may enjoy this book a bit more, as you’ll have more of a connection to the characters. I may go back and check out some of the prior books in the series.
4.5 out of 5 stars
Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin-Mira publishing for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
When I requested this I didn't know this was part of a series but I am glad I didn't know because I am not sure I would have requested it. I don't think you need to have read anything else in the series to be able to follow this.
Keri Wolfe is a Non-Fiction writer has recently joined a paranormal investigation show. The show goes to investigate a haunted inn known for axe murders. As they begin to set up they discover the body of an FBI agent. Are the killings starting all over again?
Keri and Joe are likable characters that you will definitely root for. If you like romance, mysteries and ghost stories this one will be for you!
This is one of three of the Kreawe Hunters series I have read. This can be read as a stand alone someone of the characters over lap from the other series but as always Heather Graham has the abilities to give readers everything they need without losing the story.
The story moves quickly from start to end. This time Ghost Hunters are seeking to find answers to a haunted building.
The romance between the two lead characters work as a intra romance the ending is a little too much but it is a insta romance.
The mystery will keep readers guessing no matter how many times readers think they know the killer or the reason it will change quickly many times.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Mira for the advance copy of Heather Graham The Seekers.
Heather Graham is a terrific storyteller who has a unique ability to weave history with the paranormal. Each time I am treated to a compelling story that hooks me from start to finish. Not to mention this particular story takes place in Pennsylvania, which holds a special place for me. Definitely one suspenseful and enjoyable read you do not want to miss. I am a big fan of the Krewe of Hunters Series and look forward to more of this series to come.
Meet Keri. A Non-Fiction writer. Keri has been asked to help the crew of The Seekers, a ghost hunter type show, as they explore a haunted inn. It's famous for a lot of reasons, the main one being the site of an axe-wielding killer in the '20s.
They have just begun to set up when they find a body in the basement. And not just anybody but the body of an FBI agent. Are the killings starting again? And who is the woman in white Keri sees by the body?
Joe has joined the Krewe of Hunters. A group within the FBI with paranormal gifts. Together with Dallas, they take over the inn and plunge into an investigation into not only the death of another agent but all of the odd things going on in this strange town.
And this was a strange town! Ghosts popping up, kidnappings, satanic cults. All the good bells and whistles.
This could be a stand alone. Or be like me and read them all!

Keri and Joe are such interesting characters. I love all the history and examples that is given in the book about witches and ghosts. It was such a fascinating book. I love trying to guess what’s really going on. The writing is wonderful. I was so engrossed until the very end!
The Seekers brings the suspense in the latest Krewe of Hunters novel. With her time and time again proven formula, Heather Graham mixes a creepy mystery with a touch of paranormal and a taste of romance to deliver a page turner of a novel. The latest recruit for the Krewe, Joe joins forces with Dallas to investigate when the body of a fellow FBI agent shows up in a ritualistic looking murder. The agent is found on an altar at in the bottom of a historic inn known for a past mass murder by researcher Keri. Some ghostly appearances later and a trail of creepy clues put Joe and Keri in the path of some psychotic killers. Fast paced and action packed, the story drew me in with the mystery and the budding romance was just icing on the cake for a good read. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
Murders, Cops, the FBI, ghosts, witches and satanists - what's not to like. All set in an old - haunted - inn.. Deaths in the past can help to solve current murders. Especially if their ghosts help. What an ace book.
I read an advance review copy which I received for free. This review is optional, and my own. It is a true review.
The Seekers is one of Heather Graham's Krewe series. Until I read The Seekers I was unaware of this series and I had no difficulty following the story, so definitely a stand alone book. The Seekers was an interesting story, but seemed to me more of a YA novel. I would give this story 3 and a half stars, since impossible I'm upping it to 4 stars. I was given an early copy to review.
THE SEEKERS is a read that will keep you glued to the pages. The danger, drama, and energy of this books will blow you away and just when you think you got it figured out ... wrong!
THE SEEKERS will have you thinking hard on who the bad guy, or guys, could be.

I don't normally read paranormal stories but this one is almost more mystery than paranormal and its very well-written. I am new to this series but really like the Krew and all the characters although I was a bit surprised that they had some Keystone Cop moments when they should have known better. I would say this is more thrilling than scary but it had its moments of fright done nicely and the balance between solving a murder and dealing with a possible ghost was handled perfectly. Now I need to go back and see how this group started out. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.
