I love the Krewe of Hunters and how well Heather Graham can weave a story (and solve a crime!) with the perfect blend of other world help and good 'ole detective work. I enjoyed that this plot hasn't been done by her before and that's what kept me engaged. A worthy next installment to this series!
Thank you Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The seekers
A paranormal mystry that follows ghosts from the past, more recent deaths and a crew of people all trying to get it on camera while an investigation takes place.
The best way to describe this is on the show Supernatural there is a show within it called Ghostfacers. They hunt ghosts but dont really know what to do. These people know what to do but are sort of getting in the way of the investigation but also bringing forth important information that they wouldnt have been able to find without their paranormal expertise.
This is an imaginative story with ingredients from the paranormal. It includes romance, murder and developing relationships. The character are not described in depth, but probably don't need to be for a story of this nature. Descriptions use a broad brush with little added detail. The ending provides a bit of a surprise as the bad guys are unveiled. I enjoyed the story, but this book did not make me want the next in the series.
The seekers started off a little slow for me, but once it figured out where it wanted to go it was an enjoyable mystery with ghost and light romance. As always Heather Graham throws some history in there, enough to snag the interest of the curious. There is a murder or two in the present and ghosts from the past. It was nice for a few visits or mentions of some of the original Krewe and I look forward the the next ghostly sighting.. thank you to Heather Graham, publisher and NetGalley for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and we're unsolicited.
This was an interesting suspense thriller! I enjoyed the storyline, and the characters. It felt like I was in the story, and it was awesome!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
What a great story to read, I really enjoyed this book. Heather Graham is a very good writer .I think if you read this book you will enjoy it very much, It doesn't hurt to give it a try even when they aren't your normal author to read. I do look forward to her next book.
Heather Graham offers a unique narrative that combines a culmination of genres. Those seeking a bit of police-procedural, paranormal, and romance can find it all in this novel. As a newcomer to the series, it was hard to become engaged in the story. Graham’s writing seemed to be sporadic and the plot line or perhaps plot arc was difficult to pinpoint and follow. The characters were significantly underdeveloped. The reader was given facts, rather than allowed to incorporate emotion about the cast. While one can appreciate a complex story line, this one seemed to jump around a bit too much, leaving the entire book to feel anticlimactic. 1 star.
The Seekers (Krewe of Hunters #28) by Heather Graham ...Only five stars...are you kidding me?... Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for allowing me to preview this book. I don't know where to start..I can't say enough about how I love the KREWE OF HUNTERS books. This one kept me on my toes and I hated to even sleep til I finished it. Joe Dunhill (former detective and almost KREWE member) Keri Wolf (author of books solving old historical crimes) Dallas Wicker (FBI agent with the Krewe..showing Joe the ropes) Carl Brentwood ( actor who bought the Miller Inn and Tavern) Brad Holden( creator and host of the Truth Seekers..studying the tavern) I was on pins and needles as I always am with Heather's Krewe books. I enjoyed the interaction and the laughs..There was plenty of suspense and scary stuff..with a love story mixed in...all getting us to a HEA. I won't tell you anymore just that you need to read this. Can't wait for THE STALKING...coming 9/24/19.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Witty Romantic Informative Happily Ever After Great world building Scary Action-packed Haunting Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Entertaining Unpredictable Page-turner
Graham at her finest. Good book with fast paced plot and a little ghost story mixed in with some psychological drama
This book was a bit like a Criminal Minds episode with ghosts thrown in. I think this will appeal to readers who are looking for a crime mystery thriller with paranormal elements. Although this book is part of a series, it may be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed the haunted inn and ghosts that were part of this story, and wished they would have been a larger part of the book. I also liked the romantic relationship that developed. I did find that I enjoyed the second half of the book more as the story seemed to pick up the pace.
Many readers will enjoy this book more than I did. It is part of a successful and unique series.
Keri is a nonfiction writer, who writes about historical murder houses. She has joined the cast of The Seekers. Her and former detective Joe Dunhill. A nice suspenseful read. Love the Krewe series
I liked this book as much as the other books written by this author.
Good storyline, character development and some romance.
Highly recommended!
A great read for people who like romance, ghosts and murder. An especially good book for people who want to read a bunch of books by the same author. Light and enjoyable.
For me this was just okay. There is an episode at the beginning of the book where a characters sees a ghost and then it felt like most of the book was just rehashing that original incident. I never felt a strong connection to any of the characters (though that may be because this is book 28 in the series and the first I've read so I don't know the history of these characters). Overall, I wanted more tension and more actual plot.
The Seekers surprised me in a good way. There are many books written about ghosts and hauntings but I found this one to be unique. I won't tell why because it would ruin the surprise for future readers. The characters are skillfully written with depth and understanding about human nature. What started out as a possible haunting turned into a much more complex story with a satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed each new development that kept me interested to the last page.

I read everything Heather Graham wrote years ago - was a huge fan. Then my tastes changed & I wanted less romance & lost touch with this Krewe of Hunters series. When this book was offered I thought I'd give it a chance again. I did always like her writing style, just not a fan n of the "love at first sight" feel of some books.
Im so glad I took a chance with this book! I was engaging & i appreciated her character development again. The mystery isn't too heavy - perfect for a relaxing read (for me - I suppose some might find it more involved).
I didn't find any of the usual cliches, it was just an enjoyable mystery & after reading this one I will consider returning to her books. The romance happened a bit too quickly for my liking, and this wasn't a traditional thriller.
Many thanks to the author, publisher & net gallery for the chance to read it.
I have been reading this series since book one. Number twenty eight does not disappoint. As usual, characters from previous books make appearances but the new additions add a lot to the story. The history in this book is compelling and doesn't overpower the plot. Action packed and fast paced, with mystery, romance, and suspense The Seekers is one of my favorites of the series.
Thank you NetGalley and Mira for the eARC.
This was my second in the Krewe of Hunters series and I decided to give the series another try as Heather Graham is so popular. Unfortunately, my opinion stayed the same: this author is just not for me. I didn't like anything about the book, not the story, not the characters or the writing. Sorry!
Every Krewe book brings with it some similar themes, but each also has its own unique characters and circumstances. While the plot was a bit slow at times, the story was still strong, and the characters were nicely developed all around. Graham is a master at her craft, and this shows in each of her books. Readers of suspense who like a little paranormal and romance mixed in can't miss here.
This book is part of a series but I had no issues with the characters and past things that had happened.
I'm going to go back and catch up on some of the other books. Thanks Netgalley for the Arc
