Christmas from the Heart was a fun read and puts you in the mood for Christmas. I really enjoyed this book and love finding new-to-me authors. It was well written and holds your attention. If you like small town Christmas romance stories, you will love this book! Thank you HARLEQUIN - MIRA (U.S. and Canada) via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Another fun book by this author! I enjoyed the story and the characters! A very fast book guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit! Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for the early copy
I was contacted and given the opportunity to review this book, but upon downloading, it was a different book. Re-downloading is giving me the same sci-fi romance, so I cannot review the correct novel. I was looking forward to this :(
Guy was a softer version of the (in)famous Ebenezer Scrooge.
I did enjoy this story even if it didn't wow me.
Guy was easy to love but Livi not so much (surprisingly). It happens like that sometimes with characters.
A sweet story (albeit a little bland) and a happy ending... sometimes it's exactly what you need.
3.5 stars - I liked the premise of this book but had a hard time connecting to it. At the beginning, when the readers are introduced to the characters, they both came across as judge mental & critical. Olivia seemed like too much of a narrow minded judge person to run a charity. Guy seemed the more likable of the top of them until she criticized him & he got his back up. When Guy was stranded in Pine River, Olivia still had the attitude of what this guy with money would do for her charity rather than truly doing a good deed. Maybe this is just me. The writing was excellent so I’m sure there will be a lot of people that will enjoy this. It just wasn’t what I was expecting from the synopsis & something billed as a Christmas story.
A light, well written Christmas story with a Scrooge-like character and a charitable young woman. Reminiscent of a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie.
A very festive read.
Olivia and Guy's story, reminiscent of the christmas films they discuss in the book, where the cold-hearted businessman is won over by christmas cheer.
An excellent novel with a fascinating depiction of characters. I very much enjoyed this wonderful story and highly recommend it.
It may still be summer here but this book got me in the Christmas spirit! I really enjoy reading Sheila Roberts' book and this one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed Olivia and Guy's story. As always, the holiday story was heartwarming and tugged on the heartstrings. Recommended!
A great Christmas romance book. I personally like unpredictable stories and rated it 5 stars for those who love predictable happy endings. The characters were fun and had different characteristics to make them.interesting. A great book for the holiday romance reader.
Christmas From The Heart is a charming holiday romance. I am a Sheila Roberts fan so I liked this book very much. Although the main character is a little annoying. I can see me curling up to read this book again on a chilly Dec afternoon. It has all the feelings you want/need in a cute Christmas romance .
I'm a big Sheila Roberts' fan and I was a little disappointed in this book. It was a cute holiday romance but I felt it was repetitive in places and the actions of the main character, Olivia, were sometimes annoying in the extreme.
Olivia runs a charity called Christmas from the Heart that depends on corporate donations. She is very disappointed when one of their biggest donors, Hightower Enterprises, is unable to donate and stops returning her calls. She tracks down the CFO, Guy Hightower, and tries to guilt him into a donation but in her mind, he is the worst person alive, a living Scrooge. Unfortunately, while on a road trip, his car breaks down and he is picked up by none other than Olivia. He gives her a fake name, of course, and hopes she never finds out who he is.
However, Olivia cannot get over the fact the Hightower did not contribute to Christmas from the Heart. It must have been mentioned on every page and I found myself getting frustrated at the author.
In the end, it was a nice afternoon read, however.
Thanks to HARLEQUIN - MIRA for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a huge Sheila Robert's fan. She did not disappoint.
Christmas From The Heart is a holiday love story and you get all the feels from her descriptive writing.
Olivia runs a failing charity and Guy is the CFO. Sparks fly between these two and lead to a wonderful holiday romance.
Thank you to Net galley for allowing me to read and review this book.
Christmas from the Heart is a cute romance. Live is struggling to keep her non profit charity afloat and is desperate for donations. Her largest contributor has declined and Guy Hightower becomes public enemy number one. Until a car breakdown has Guy and Livi spending time together right before the holidays and they are falling for each other. Except Livi doesn't know Guy's true identity. The romance resolves itself in a satisfactory way. My favorite was Morris the mechanic, a solid reliable guy. I'm glad the autho chose to reward him in the end.
This could have been a sweet little holiday read. I did find it annoying the way Olivia would not let it go that Hightower did not contribute to her charity. She was obsessed with it. That became annoying quickly. I found I skimmed those parts.
A great escape from the summer storms with this Christmas tale. Sweet and romantic, it had me daydreaming about my own holiday romance.
Lovely festive feel good read. Enjoyed it very much. This is one to curl up in front of the fire with in the winter. Flowed well. Was easy to read and thoroughly enjoyable
Sweetly old fashioned story about the true meaning of Christmas.
The love story aspect was perfect.
The family drama was also very well done. I enjoyed it.
The recipes are fabulous.
This is a cute holiday romance. But, I did have a few problems with the story line. #1: in this day and age you do not pick up a stranger from the side of the road-a big no no. #2: then. you do not put the stranger in your car and take him to your house-crazy. #3: you do not leave him in your house alone. This could have made a good murder mystery, lol
A heartwarming, sweet Christmas romance. Loved it!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
