A sweet romance with serious issues in this charming small town. An unsolved murder. A young boy that doesn't speak since his dad's death. Delightful characters, along with a few despicable ones.
This was such a wonderful addition to the Sweetwater Springs series! I've been anxiously awaiting this book since I finished Springtime at Hope Cottage and it was definitely worth the wait! It was such an emotional story for me that I cried both happy and sad tears throughout this whole book especially near the end. Halona and Alex are such a great pair and when you add in sweet little Theo it just makes this the perfect family in my eyes. I finished this book with a smile on my face, contentment in my heart, and an excitement for Annie Rains next book in this fantastic series!
Another great addition to the Sweetwater Spring series. Alex and Halona had so much chemistry that it was impossible to put down.
Halona was a florist and Alex was the chief of police. They lived in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I could tell right off the bat that they would make a cute and unexpected couple. Everyone in town knew how sweet and compassionate Halona was and everyone saw Chief Alex as a stickler and sometimes heartless. They were opposites but when they interacted with each other you could imagine the fireworks.
I loved being able to see the softer side of Alex. Especially when he was with Halona's son Theo. It was so pure and sweet.
I always enjoy reading Annie Rains' books because they are guaranteed to leave you feeling happy.
I give Snowfall on Cedar Trail 4 stars. It was cute and romantic with the push and pull of characters who unexpectedly fall in love.
Snowfall on cedar trail., is a feel good everything will work out romance. This is a stand alone series book. But the stories intertwine because we encounter the same characters. This will make a nice addition to our romance section
I am so happy that I started following this author . I have enjoyed all of her books and this is another success in my opinion for the Sweetwater Springs series. It's heartwarming and a wonderful Christmas story. I read the ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I do not give a synopsis of stories because I find it irritating when other readers do that and there is one provided with the book. Be sure to catch this delightful read from a talented author.
This next installment in the Sweetwater Springs series brings romance to the town's Chief of Police, Alex Baker. Growing up in Sweetwater Springs, Alex was best friends with Tuck Locklear and Mitch Hargrove. They were inseparable as teens and even though they went their separate ways after graduation, they always remained close friends. Alex has had a crush on Tuck's sister, Halona, for a long time but was afraid of destroying his friendship with Tuck. Will he put his fear and reservations aside and finally grab onto the happiness that he has longed for? Halona, owner of the town's flower shop, has no time for a social life. Losing her husband to a skiing accident two years ago, their young son, Theo, has not spoken a word. Having to calm Theo's fears every night when he is in the throes of the nightmares about his dad, Halona will do whatever it takes to help her young son. Christmas has always been a magical season for the resident's of Sweetwater Springs but this year, there will be an abundance of miracles going around! Author Annie Rains has written a beautiful series that shows that dreams do come true and miracles do happen! As I read these wonderful books, I feel as if I am transported to Sweetwater Springs and can feel the emotions that each character is undergoing at the time! I cannot wait to see more of the residents of Sweetwater Springs! Author Annie Rains has written a remarkable series that will forever hold a special place in my heart!

Annie Rains has given us the town of Sweetwater Springs in North Carolina to base her series. In this holiday book from the sequel she features Halona Locklear, owner of the Little Shop of Flowers. She is sister to Tuck and mother of Theo, a seven year old who suffers from selective mutism. His father died suddenly in a ski accident two years ago and since then the family trauma has caused his silence. He does communicate by writing on his tablet that he carries with his special pencil. Nights are filled with waking from frightening dreams. He sees a therapist but she maintains it could take time for him to work through the terrors that he and his mother have lived through. All that aside, Halona works hard daily in her shop to support them. When he comes home from school he does his homework or draws in the back room of the floral shop. He is never a problem. He is happy just to be with his mother.
The local chief of police, Alex Baker has been a long time friend of Halona. He stops by often to have a coffee or just to chat. He has always crushed on her but when Halona married her husband Ted, a football star, he tried not to think of her in the same way. She too had feelings for Alex before she met and fell in love with Ted. Since his passing, Halona has had more than friendly feelings toward Alex but she would try to discard them from her mind thinking he could not feel the same way or that perhaps it was just too soon - she had to think of Theo.
Snowfall on Cedar Trail continues the story of another pair of characters in Sweetwater Springs. Many past personas are brought into Rains series to promote a familial feel for the reader. I have read Sweetwater Springs since its introduction in Christmas on Mistletoe Lane. This is the 3rd in the series and have found them all to be inviting and pleasant to read. Ms. Rains brings in the local cultures as well as the geography of the region. She is talented at introducing us to the new featured character. In this September 24th release, Snowfall on Cedar Trail gives us another story for the winter holidays.
In addition to this novel, a second novel, Then There Was You by Miranda Liasson, is included in the book. This selection was published in May of 2018. It too is a pleasant read that makes this a five star edition.
It is published by Forever Books of New York and Boston. I give my gratitude to them for allowing me to read the advance edition of Snowfall on Cedar Trail by Annie Rains. I very much enjoyed it.
The next story in the series, Alex and Halona's, was full of love and laughter, heartbreak and tears. Her son Tony hasn't spoken s since her husband Ted died. He's in therapy and his therapist recommends signing him up for an adult mentor. Alex is matched up and as he defines a relationship with Alex, he and Halona share life details, bringing them closer together.
As the Chief of Police, Alex is very protective so when threats move to reality, his first instinct is to back off from the relationship. He so!ves his father's cold case murder and his grandmother confronts him about his relationship with Helona. All in all, it's a Christmas to remember. Athough part of a series I think this can be read as a standalone story.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest opinions.
Snowfall on Cedar Trail by Annie Rains is a wonderful Christmas Story. Was fun to return to Sweetwater Springs. This story was filled with so much love as Alex becomes a mentor to Theo. Halona and Alex wait for Theo to return to the world of talking. I think all the love in the Christmas season helps.
Great read. Halona owns a flower shop and Alex is always stopping in for flowers. Her son Theo hasnt talked since his fathers death. Will the sparks between halona and Alex rekindle and will Alex find out who hit his dad and killed him. Read the book
Another story about the people of Sweetwater Springs. A single mom dealing with her son's mutism and her long standing love for her brother's best friend. His long standing love for his best friend's sister, and the unsolved murder of his father. You'll see how this story plays out. Very enjoyable read.
Overall I really liked the story, but there were a few things that I had issues with. There just seemed to be a lot packed into this book. I didn't realize it was the 3 book in a series, and while it could be read as a standalone all the information on the other characters felt like overload sometimes.
