How have I never read Mel Teshco before?? This book was so amazing. With an extremely well developed cast of characters especially Galan and Layla. They had the perfect amount of romance, sexual tension, and sexy times to keep readers turning the pages. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and I will definitely be looking up author for further books in the future and now. Happy reading!!

A steamy, passionate, romance
One that will definitely be for you if you are a fan .

The two main characters have challenges of their own.
Gallan is a ladies man , but his one night rule stands no matter who the lady is , no long term relationships .

Layla comes from a dysfunctional home , her dad is a womaniser and a drunk , her mum is a stripper, but the two stay married, go figure.

When after 6 months Layla decides now is the time to get Gallans attention she does it by auctioning herself in his club , of course he has to bid.

A good read, but I felt it didn’t do justice to their relationship other than in bed .
In around 3 weeks they went from boss and employee to a lot more and the only thing in common was sex .
Maybe I missed something but I felt they should have had more of a connection. Hence the 3 stars .

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Layla works for the Black brothers in the bar and café areas of their nightclub/event establishment. She has had a crush in the oldest brother, Galen, for months. Finally she comes up with a way to get his attention ... join in the lineup of women who are up for auction at their charity event!

Although their attraction is steaming hot, both of the characters are flawed, and have family and trust issues that threaten to interfere with blossoming relationship.

Highest Bid is a great book for the cottage, the beach, or anywhere else you want to lose yourself in a romantic story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Layla is instantly drawn to her new boss, Galan, but tries to keep herself out of the limelight until she feels the need to attract his attention. She puts herself forward for the annual charity auction hoping he won’t be able to resist her. Her dreams come true but then she starts wondering how long can their relationship last considering his past record. Quite simplistic but entertaining. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Sorry, but this just didn’t do it for me. I really struggled to finish. The story didn’t interest me, I couldn’t connect with the main characters... it was mainly just sex and dialogue. Thank you to netgalley for the ARC.

A great start to the Bachelor Brothers of Sydney series.
Highest bid by Mel Teshco.
A spicy romance with great character development and dialogue.
I can't wait to see what the next book in the series brings to us.

I feel like I got whiplash from this story. One second someone is mad and/or overreacting, the next they are sweet to each other. This goes for the main characters and secondary characters alike. The dialogue seems stilted and it made me feel embarrassed for the characters who had to hear them speak. This just didn't do it for me.

Sex, sex, sex. That pretty much sums this entire book. Let's be honest, the relationship between Layla and Galan was a complete joke and the instant love component to this erotica was almost too much to bare. I'm not going to lie, I was slightly intrigued at first when Galan discovered that Layla pretended to be the ugly ducky before blowing him out of the water during a charity auction event where she revealed her true colors but then they suddenly wham! Bam! I love and want you in my life after what… 1 week of endless sex and and barely there conversations? Nevertheless, the writing style wasn't too cringe-worthy so I'll give the author kudos for that and if you're a reader looking for a quick erotica then look no further, this would be ideal.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I have to admit I was conflicted with a number of things with this book. The age difference bothered me for some reason, the whole “bidding” concept rubbed me the wrong way and the secret turned out to be kind of lame. I was thinking the secret would be he had relations with her mother since they were closer in age.

This was not one of my favorite storylines but I would give the author another chance.

Highest Bid by Mel Teshco is a quick and very steamy read. Unfortunately I never seemed to connect with the main characters and they didn't seem have any connection except in the bedroom. I'd give this 3 stars.

An unapologetic player and a reserved wallflower… one night would never be enough

That's the blurb but I'm not sure I'd describe Layla as a wallflower given how you first meet her in the book! She does have good reasons for being cautious around men. However, she choses to do something outrageous to get the attention of Galen, who she's physically attracted to but has had next to no time to get to know - that wasn't convincing to me at all. It seemed way too out of her supposed character for me.

Galen has his reasons for being a player and not wanting to settle for one woman, with the family secret he's keeping. This I found much more convincing, once I found out the family secret right towards the end of the book. He's all for sleeping with Layla, and gradually comes to care for her, that I found that more convincing.

The story flows well, but I preferred Galen to Layla.

I struggled to finish this. It felt like it started off in the middle of a story, and everything was so instant that it just didn’t flow nicely or even feel real. Everything that happened was in the space of a couple of weeks, which is just unrealistic and not believable at all. Very disappointed.
