I'd been looking for a book like this for a long time. There's always been quite a few books on how dogs' minds work in terms of training and the things they're capable of, but I've not come across many that explore how they think and feel and to what capability they understand various things. (And we truly may never completely know.)
But this book definitely was a great start into that line of thinking. I enjoyed seeing the research, explanations, and end result!
Read if you: Are wondering if your dog loves you only because you have opposable thumbs and can operate a can opener.

Although some technicalities of the research may daunt some readers, this is a minor distraction in an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying read. (And it's understandable why it's there, in order to defend his conclusions).
I love the sweet cover of this book. I enjoyed reading this book and learning about the emotions of a dog.
