A beautiful story that is sad but uplifting. Nathan and Emma have so little time together so they pack as much love as they can into every single day.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
99 days with you, is a tender sensitive read that somehow combines love, friendship and hope with dying and illness, but not in a sad morbid way but an uplifting full of hope way!
We can all learn from Nathan and Emma and benefit from making new friends in different circumstances, this book demonstrates that by forging new friendship in the most unlikely of places, your life can be enhanced and enriched even in the most difficult of circumstances! And that we should all make the most of every minute and every hour to lead the best most fulfilling life that we can!
Thank you so much net galley for this advance copy of such a thought provoking read.
Having read the blurb first, I knew this was a book I would love and would have me crying like a baby and I was right on both counts. Cancer is something that affects many of our lives. Whether we have been affected by it directly or through loved ones, a story like this is always going to be close to home.
Emma and Nathan are total opposites but a chance meeting in a hospital waiting room changes both their lives for ever. As much as I really enjoyed Emma’s character, Nathan’s character I absolutely loved. I would love an ounce of his energy and positivity. His passion for living his life to the fullest is something that I think we could all learn from. I loved also that in the turmoil of what he is going through, he manages to find a way of helping others.
I did so well, managing to not shed a tear most of the way through this novel. A story like this is guaranteed to be a tear jerker and when those tears started, they didn’t stop. In fact they just came faster and harder. Knowing now how this story made me cry, do I wish I hadn’t read it? Not a chance. Whilst it literally broke my heart, it very much lived up to being an uplifting story also.
99 Days With You is a thought provoking, heart wrenching but beautiful love story of two souls making the most of a life changing diagnosis. The author focuses all the attention on these two characters and it felt like I was getting an intimate look into their journey and I felt privileged to be sharing it with them. Such a beautiful and well told story that has taught me not to focus on loss but on living and making every day count.
What an amazing book that not only touches on the delicate subject of Cancer and how quickly and silently it can change our lives, it also shows that Cancer is not a subject to be afraid of. We was not blindsided with technology that we would not be able to understand without a medical degree, instead the terminology was put in a way that you understood clearly and concisely
I felt that the author made Nathan and Emma become friends of mine, not just characters in a book. Carole was a substitute mum who despite her own woes, wanted to take the world under her wings to protect it
And the ending, despite being a tear jerker, was the best ending that could ever have been written
Wish I could give it a lot more than 5 stars
I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. When I read the blurb about this book I knew I had to read it. It sounded uplifting and so sad all at the same time. I had high expectations for this story but for me it fell short. Granted, you have to be in the mood to be sad-know what I mean? Clearly this book about two people who have cancer that meet and fall in love-the odds are not going to be good for one of them-right? So I thought I would still read a wonderful book even if it made me cry my eyes out. The trouble for me was that I didn't fall in love with the main characters, which you must do in order to love this plot line. They both were nice, self sacrificing and heroic, but they really fell flat for me which prevented me from loving this story. Three stars because the plot was interesting.
99 Days With You is a heartbreaking, beautiful read that really pulls your heartstrings, I enjoyed this book so much.
99 Days With You by Catherine Miller packs an emotional wallop that will linger long after the final page has been turned. This is a heartbreaking, yet ultimately uplifting, story that had me welling up more than once. I could not put it down.
Nathan Foxdale and Emma Green meet at a cancer clinic, and an immediate sense of uneasiness settles in. Can such an ominous beginning possibly be a predicator of a happy outcome? Nathan and Emma become each other's sole source of support through their individual ordeals, and emotions are heightened as the two vow to consciously live for every minute of the rest of their lives. Undertaking a series of 'everlasting acts', the two recognize that they have found love, but could fate be so cruel as to take it away as quickly as it has been found?
This is an emotionally wrenching read that will make you want to live for each and every moment.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.
A beautiful story that had me reaching for tissues more than once. It was a striking way for two people to meet and fall in love and I suspect it will stay with me for a long time.
I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is one of those stories you know from the start can't end well. Two cancer patients find love, and help and support each other, but it's pretty certain at least one of them won't make it. Sad, yet somehow uplifting. A thoughtful read with a sensitive subject matter, not one for the beach.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book really tugged on my heart strings. What a sweet story.
Heartbreaking, romantic, just beautiful.
Wow! Keep the tissues handy. This is a heartbreaking and heartwarming story at the same time. Love and pain are all twisted together.
Heartbreaking story but it’s a must read. It make you sit up and think about life in a new way. You will laugh and cry with this one.
A beautiful heartwarming but also heartbreaking read, funny in parts and I just loved the friendship between Nathan and Emma, every page was so well written.
I can thoroughly recommend this book, you will not be disappointed and I look forward to reading more from Catherine Miller.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read this great book.
"What would you do, if you knew you could only do one more thing?"
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net galley for giving me an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.
A breathtaking beautifully written story that leaves you reading through tears but also smiling and finding joy in any sadness.
It is an inspirational novel about not wasting an hour and enjoying the smallest moments that life brings.
I loved the concept of two strangers in need of support and finding it in each other and how one act of kindness can change your life in the most stunning ways.
The only negative comment I could make about this book was that it ended. I look forward to the next emotionally insightful and life enriching book by Catherine Miller.
Wow! This is a heartbreaker of a story but with a strong message - live. Every hour at a time.
Loved Nathan and Emma - how they met was serendipitous but what they both went through was heartbreaking. Though they managed to find pieces of happiness and laughter along the way.
This book will not be for everyone, there isn’t a HEA in the traditional sense but there is an ending of hope and remembrance.
Thank you to NetGalley for the copy.
Emma and Nathan find themselves in a breast health waiting room after both discovering abnormalities in their breasts. They end up as each other's support for their appointments and start to build a friendship from there. For Emma, it is something minor, but for Nathan, the situation is much more dire. The book explores Emma and Nathan's budding friendship and relationship and the 99 days they get to spend together before tragedy strikes. It is a wonderful story of true friendship and putting another's needs before your own. Emma throughout the story remains selfless in her love for Nathan, trying to make his days as memorable as possible. Have the tissues ready, this one is a heartbreaker.
This book whilst dealing with hard hitting subjects is so well written and upliftinng. I cried and smiled in equal measure. A real gift of a novel that had to be read by all.
I couldn’t put Nathan and Emma down, such beautiful characters brought together in tough circumstances but fighting together to make every hour count. Tears were shed! Wine was needed I loved every word
Relationships start in the most unlikely of places.
Emma Green is an amazing character who has had to face many challenges. The reader is invited into her world and immediately sympathizes with what she has to deal with. Nathan Foxdale has his own issues. Two people destined to meet and fall in love but each carrying a burden. What a powerful story. I will read more from Catherine Miller. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this masterpiece.
Firstly I would like to thank the author and publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. It is a book that will stay with me for a long time, not least because it reduced me to tears and was so uplifting at the same time. I felt that I lived the 99 days with Emma and Nathan and I didn't want the book to end as it would mean saying goodbye to them, and I felt as if I really knew them as the characters were so well written. I shall be recommending this book to everyone I know and I cannot wait for more from this author.
