An action filled read. This is the 2nd book of the series and can be read as a standalone. I look forward to the next installment and seeing more of my favorite characters.
This is the first book I have read by this author and hope to read more in the future.
Demon Cursed is a great, well-written fantasy story that I truly enjoyed reading.
Kids and I don’t get along. Never have. They cry. They’re needy. Don’t even get me started on the smell.
Then a baby lands on my doorstep—FAE Investigations—with her elfin parents. They claim a demon wants her. My first thought is, “Let the demon have her.” It would save them so much hassle.
But I take the case anyway. Then I discover things aren’t as simple as they look. Sure, a demon wants the baby, but for good reason.
This baby may turn out to be the worst type of kid.
This book was so fun, interesting, and magical. The FAE investigations and a journey down a rabbit hole of surprises and twists. When the investigation takes a surprise turn there is only one thing to do, try and solve the mysteries before it is to late.
Demon Cursed (Dark Fae Decree Book 2) by Ilana Waters is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary. There is fae, a goblins and demons. But the the story is about an elf judge that doesn't like babies but has to care for a baby the is surrounded by a demon. Simple, elf, demon, and baby! Well, it really isn't simple at all because a detective thinks the elf is guilty of certain crimes, which she is but not for the reasons the detective believes! It all gets crazy!
Pretty good story!
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this fun book
if you are into magic, fae goblins and fighting then this is the book for you...
this one i found was a quick fun read, one that flowed really well and the characters came to life so quickly
about a fae with some sort of evil side that investigates for her clients....in this one justine has to look after a baby after the mother made a deal with a demon...and that demon has come to collect on that debt...
how to save the baby and mom and keep everyone sweet....love how this author writes...and another one to add to the list of authors to keep an eye out for
I've loved all of Ilana's works, and this is no exception! Slow start, built rapidly and I loved some of the twists it took that I wasn't actually expecting! Excellent start!
Received this book from Netgalley. Thanks to everyone responsible for making it available.
Been a fan of this author for many years and love most of her books. Usually as many laughs as slugfests but not this time . Justine and Roo as the main leads are ok but not as appealing as they could be. The amount of damage to children and Justine was excessive without a valid reason , the whole plot a bit too easy to figure out. I know it is fantasy but need to put the fun back!
Story line - a nymph and a brownie set up a detective agency for the supernatural community. This is the second in the series. Today's cases involve saving children from demons. This was a quick read with lots of action.
I didn’t really like this story. Not sure why, just didn’t. Most of it was interesting. #DemonCursed #NetGalley
Demon Cursed is a great book that will keep you entertained. The characters are well developed and the book is well written.
Justine and Roo are back for some fae fun. This time Justine has to find out how to get rid of a demon that’s after a baby, and she can’t stand kids. This book was fun, interesting, and had some very interesting side characters. I did see the twist coming at the very end which makes me very anxious to see what’s coming next. I do have to admit that sometimes I don’t like Justine very much, but it isn’t enough to really derail my enjoyment, and, TBF, she does have a nasty dark side. Now begins the wait for the next one. This is a good book for those who like PIs, fae, and/or urban fantasy. I recommend this book and was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
Thank you NetGalley and Ilana Waters for this arc.
This is the second book in the series and to truly enjoy it, I feel like I should have read the first book first. But I haven't, so I felt slightly behind the eight ball until about half way through. But I've been behind the eight ball plenty in the past. This was a fast and easy read all the same. Justine is my kind of gal.... she takes lickin' after lickin' and comes back kickin' EVERY time. Then she drags herself home and lets Roo clean up after her. (Where do I find my own Roo?). Nonetheless, Justine knows she's in over her head and keeps going her own way trying to find the moral high road. I enjoyed her sense of humor. Plenty of action, lots of fae, demons, hobgoblins... all interesting characters.
