This a clean, sweet easy read. A great summer, by the beach read! There are many wonderful things about this book, I just did not connect with the characters to get invested and pulled in to the story. The characters didn’t seem to have all the nuances a personality usually has and fell a little flat for me. I loved that the main character was a single mom without a terrible, horrific past with her ex, that was really, really refreshing. I could picture the scenes very well so the author did a wonderful job there! I think it is a pretty predictable love story, but worth the read.
Jenna, a single mother of two, has taken a house at the beach for the summer. She's on a tight schedule to complete her latest book, and she's hoping to find peace and quiet.
Imagine Jenna's dismay when she discovers that the other half is rented to a single man, who surfs, plays loud music, and, worst of all, has a large overly friendly dog!
The question...Can Jenna break out of her prim and proper shell to accept love?
Love at the shore is a fun, easy read. I would recommend this title to any romance reader!
In the interest of full disclosure, I received a free digital copy of this title to review from Net Galley.

Such a fun summer read. I loved reading about Jenna & Lucas, her kids. Looking forward to Teri Wilsons next book.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
What a delicious beach read this was! Full of chocolate and seashells and changing hearts and breaking barriers. I can’t wait to watch the Hallmark movie adaptation —I saved it on the DVR to see if they did it justice!
Love At The Shore us a fun summer beach book, even if you aren't going to the beach this year. I enjoyed the flow if the book, it was a quick read but I didn't feel like it was rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and will be looking for more by Teri Wilson.
I finished Teri Wilson's "Love at the Shore" in one day. I love reading quick beach reads and this one did not disappoint. I'm pretty sure I saw the movie on The Hallmark Channel has it became familiar the more I read.
A fun-filled romantic and great summer read! A book about taking second chances and believing that the relationship can be more than just a "summer fling." I loved the ease with which this book was written and read---and enjoyed it tremendously. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this title prior to publication--loved it!!!!
Love at the Beach is a cute, entertaining summer “beach” read. Jenna is a single mother with two kids headed to the beach for the summer. She’s a writer of young adult stories who has had her first hit. Now she has 5 weeks to finish the sequel that she hasn’t started. She’s hoping the kids will be entertained by the beach & their friends so she can get inspired & knock the story out. She didn’t plan on the outgoing inhabitant of the opposite side of the duplex, his parties & loud music. He is so annoying! Why can’t she get him off her mind?
Lucas rented out one side of his duplex for the summer. He didn’t expect his neighbor to be so uptight & nice looking. She didn’t think he’d fall for the entire family. His dog was as big a draw to the kids as he was. Can he find a way to change Jenna’s impression of him?
This was definitely a case of opposites attract. Jenna is uptight & anxious. Lucas is laid back & takes it as it comes. It isn’t a case of love at first sight but with every interaction you see the chemistry grow. The kids & the dog add their own little side stories which add to the sweetness of the story. This really is a fun entertaining summer read.
The finished story was sweet, but it was a rough read to get into. Characters were not well developed and the timeline never really meshed. Things like an event happening, the book then saying "a few days later", then the main character having a flashback to the event that happened the day before. I liked the ending of the story, but it took a while to become invested. However, definitely fits the ChickLit genre and is a fun beach read. Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced reader's copy.
Love at the Shore by Teri Wilson is a sweet Hallmark love story, that I really enjoyed. Jenna is a single mom of two children who writes young adult books, and her dead line is five weeks away. The problem is that she has writers block. Jenna and her children pack up and head to the shore, where they are renting half of a house. When they arrive Lucas lives in the other unit with his dog, who barks. Lucas also likes to stay up late and host loud volleyball games on the beach. Can these two opposite people find a way to get along? I really enjoyed this sweet love story, and dreamed about being on that beach too. This book has a well thought out plot and characters. I will be reading more books by this author. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre, perfect summer beach read.
I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.
Love at the Shore by Teri Wilson is a great heartwarming and quick “beach read” that is cute, funny, and leaves you with the fuzzies in feeling that, at least for a few minutes, life is better.
Jenna Turner reminds me of myself, and maybe that is why I like her and identify with her so much, and her love and passion for her new career as an author and for her kids is adorable, yet not too cheesy and definitely realistic.
Lucas is the total opposite and the reader cannot help but like him and their banter during the span of the novel. Of course one knows how this will end overall, however the journey is still well worth taking, and the few twists and additions make it even more the better.
I love Hallmark books and movies, and this one does not disappoint.
This is my first book by Ms. Wilson and I am looking forward to more.
5/5 stars
Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this ARC and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.
I loved this story based on one of Hallmark's most popular movies. The author did a great job of providing insight into the characters' motivations and thoughts. I'm definitely looking forward to Teri Wilson's next book!
Love at the shore is a sweet beach romance with all the required ingredients for a good summer love story. The setting is idyllic, the characters are charming and the storyline is lovely. It is a novel about new beginnings and turning a new leaf, finding happiness and love. Although I found it quite nice and easy to read, I still had the feeling that the stakes weren’t as riveting and gripping as other Hallmark novels. But it is still an entertaining seasonal read.
Such a warm, funny beach romance! Lucas is not the surfer bum that Jenna takes him for, but Jenna is exactly what Lucas sees. She's a control freak, and not ready to let anyone in, especially someone as lazy and irresponsible as Lucas. Lucas, on the other hand, wants Jenna to lighten up and enjoy life. Their journey to romance is hard-fought and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny! I really enjoyed it this easy, quick read. Plus there's a recipe for Shrimp Scampi at the end that I can't wait to try!
Loved this book. Always nice to find a good wholesome book with a good plot. I look forward to reading more books by this author. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital arc. This is my unbiased review.
Perfect book for the summer. Jenna’s character is relatable. I loved how the author slowly built Jenna and Lucas’s relationship
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
As always, Hallmark has done it again, succeeding in adapting one of their movies into a brilliant novel that will sure to keep you interested and intrigued.
I loved the movie Love At The Shore when it first aired so naturally I was excited when I found out that it was coming in book form. And man, did this not disappoint. Not only does it capture the spirit of the movie but also adds to the storyline with narrative that you couldn't really see on a TV screen.
Jenna Turner has two things in mind for this summer. Give her kids the vacation that they deserve and finish her novel. Being in a rivalry with the surfer stud next door neighbor wasn't part of the plan. Lucas is as free spirited as they come. Nice enough but not stable and Jenna needs stable. She has five weeks to put her life together and she doesn't need any distractions along the way.
Lucas lives by one rule: Don't get attached. So far it's worked. He's a free man with little responsibility and more time to do what he loves: surfing. That is, until Jenna Turner and her two kids rent the other part of the duplex that he owns. The kids are fine but the mother....as hard as a stone when it comes to relaxing. The two of them couldn't be more opposite, but, as always, love finds a way between a stoic single mother and a hands off surfer.
This was a nice beach read perfect for the summer. Like all Hallmark Channel content, this book is appropriate for all ages. No foul language, sex scenes, or violence here. Just a good, clean romantic read that will make you wanna watch the Hallmark Channel Original Movie "Love At The Shore" all over again.
Will there be love in the end?
Teri Wilson is the author of many novels and RITA-award finalist. Some of her books have been turned into Hallmark movies. With "Love at the Shore" she is presenting another book published by Hallmark Publishing. Jenna Turner, a single mom from Savannah and an author came to the beach of Tybee island to finish the first draft of her second book while her two children, Nick and Ally, attend the summer camp there. She does not realizes that Lucas, who she considers a sloppy surfer-beach bum with a dog is not only the owner of the summer camp but also of the rental where they are staying and where she divided the patio with a fence in order to keep his mess from "her" side. Sparks fly when she realizes that he is helping her son to improve his swimming time and even more when she discovers that he got hold of her first draft and wrote reasonable suggestions for improvement and correction into it. But will the sparks fizzle or will they turn into something else? And what will happen when Jenna's five weeks at the beach come to an end?
This was the first book by Teri Wilson which I read. I can highly recommend this clean and wholesome romance which is a fast and easy read. The characters are believable and the story contains emotional elements. Additionally Hallmark Publishing has included a recipe for Shrimp Scampi.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

While this was not my favorite Hallmark read, I think many readers will enjoy it. For me it started out really slow, mostly because I didn't like Jenna much. I felt like she blamed other people were the cause of her problems, giving her a victim mentality. I had to push myself to continue reading.
I adored this Hallmark movie and the novelization by Ms. Wilson doesn't disappoint. I love the Tybee Island setting. The whole thing is just perfect!!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
