The Dreaming Vol. 1: Pathways and Emanations is a great graphic novel. I love the artwork and the storylines throughout.

I'm a fan of the Sandman and was very happy to get this ARC.
The drawings are amazing and baroque, the plot is well written even if it's not always easy to follow.
It's quite different from the original series but a very good one.
I want to buy the hardcover because I simply adored the drawings.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I am very excited for this return to the Sandman universe, the art is spectacular, and I love that it picks up with familiar characters following the events of the final volume of Sandman. The new Dream Lord is an angsty teen, ignoring his realm while it is still reeling from his previous extended absence. As much as I enjoy seeing how the residents cope with the situation, it seems like an awkward start and I hope it intertwines with Lucifer, Books of Magic, and House of Whispers more in the future.

I grew up reading Sandman and I have read them all. I even read the newest one and this one just feels wrong. The art is still great, and Dora is fun. I also like how active Eve is but the lack of Daniel feels off and the characters do not feel like themselves. I am not sure I will keep reading. I may just go reread the older ones.

This is really quite beautiful... but also disjointed. It starts as a taster for four different series but then only contains one series - which is gorgeous but never quite feels right. Moments of the characters we know from Sandman but more like slight off facsimiles.

I had very mixed feelings reading this. After reading previous graphic novels from the Sandman Universe, this wasn't what I expected. My interest just wasn't caught and it was difficult to focus on to complete. The art was beautiful, but it was often difficult to follow what was happening.

Thank you to NetGalley, DC Entertainment, and Vertigo for providing me with an ARC.

This comic was a treat. I loved the story, I found it creepy and very engaging. I read it in an hour and I couldn't stop. The artwork is amazing, much like DC's dark style. There is little more to say, I really loved it and will definitely be reading the volumes to come.
