Loved getting the chance to reconnect with Rachel and all the other Pudding Pantry characters that I have enjoyed getting to know in previous books in the series. This time a lovely Christmas edition, perfect to read anytime, anywhere

Christmas at Rachel’s Pudding Pantry is an enchanting book that is heartwarming and full of festive cheer.

At Primrose Farm Rachel and her mother Gill are running the farm and striving to make their new business The Pudding Pantry succeed. Now that the tourist season has dried up they need to come up with some new ideas to keep the cafe afloat.

The perfect book to get yourself into the festive mood. Snuggle down with a mince pie and a glass of wine. I loved the recipes that had been passed on through several generations in the “Baking Bible” and how each recipe evokes different memories.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next for Rachel and her family.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

Nothing much in here to surprise you. A fairly formulaic Christmas romance with lashings of cake and puddings too. The writing was ok- a bit repetitive in places, but mostly kept the plot moving forward. However there were several loose ends left- which might mean more books, in what I gather is a series ( I read it as a stand-alone.)
Suitably feel-good for a Christmas read...but not a series I'd feel compelled to return to.

The second in the Pudding Pantry series but I feel you could read this as a stand alone also.

A lovely festive read – cosy up with a cuppa and your favourite pudding and dive into life on Primrose Farm with the Swinton family.

Rachel and Tom are officially a couple after the will they/won’t they from the first book. However the arrival of Tom’s ex throws Rachel into a tizzy and wondering where she stands as her and Tom drift apart due to their busy workloads and it seems Rachel has bitten off more than she can handle with the Pantry. A modern take on family life and the financial struggles the family face with a slow start business wise as the tourist season of the Summer is over. They introduce an evening pudding club which is a hit and there even seems the possibility of a blossoming romance for Rachel’s mum Jill. A snow storm threatens the livelihood of Rachel and Tom’s separate farms as they race to save as many livestock as possible from the snowdrifts.

A nice easy read to get you in the festive spirit – and reaching for a pudding….or two!

The Pudding Pantry owned by Rachel and her Mum has done well over the summer but now winter is on it's way things have slowed down dramatically. Not as many passing tourists means Rachel has to think of ideas to get them back on the map, they can't afford to not have any business over the winter, the survival of the farm depends on it.
Trying to juggle running the farm, the pantry, looking after her daughter Maisie and helping her mum is taking its toll on Rachel and her fledgling romance with Tom is suffering.
Can Rachel come up with some ideas that will save not only the Pudding Pantry but also her relationship with Tom or will this Christmas be one of her worst yet.
I love the characters in these books. They make you laugh, cry and want to bang their heads together!

My thanks to Netgalley for my copy of Christmas at Rachel's Pudding Pantry.

Firstly I found the title off putting, it was too stodgy sounding if you like, a bit old fashioned. Christmas at Rachel's Pantry or Christmas at The Pudding Pantry would have worked better for me but I can't really explain why.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book though and found it not quite so cliched as is usual in this genre. Yes, there was romance and yes there was actually snow on Christmas Day but that just added to my pleasure.

This is a thoroughly heart warming Christmas story which I was lucky enough to read whilst holidaying in warmer climes and enjoyed so I can see how reading it over the festive period would bring even greater joy.

Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately this book contains some highly calorific and delicious sounding recipes!

All in all I missed the characters when I'd finished the book and I look forward to the sequel.

This is simply one of the best festive tales I've read. Like a warm hug on a cold day. Interspersed with the story are mouth-watering festive recipes that will make you want to bake all day! Rachel and her daughter Maisy have returned to her childhood home and farm following the tragic suicide of Rachel's father. Along with her mother Jill, Rachel has started a new business venture, The Pudding Pantry. But with money being so tight and with the farm being at risk, Rachel needs to find a way to make money and fast. And so begins the Pudding Club. For a small fee, members of the community come together to talk all things baking, and get to sample scummy cakes and puddings. When Rachel's Granny Ruth comes along to introduce the group to her whisky and orange christmas pudding, sales rocket. Awards are won, newspaper articles are written, and the group grows. Young and old come together and new friendships are formed. The Pudding Club is 'a little haven of friendship and a tonic for the soul'.

Rachel learns the importance of family, community and allowing herself to be vulnerable so as to let love grow. A beautiful story perfect for reading in front of a roaring fire with a glass of something mulled and an indulgent treat.

I loved the first Pudding Pantry book and if possible enjoyed this one even more! Again the recipes that begin each chapter are mouth watering and what could be better than a book based around Christmas, puddings and romance? I raced through it and stayed up far later than I should have, unable to resist the next chapter. I highly recommend this book as one of your festive reads and cannot wait for the next one!

Obsessed with all writers British and their women’s fiction and romance titles, I’d heard wonderful things about Caroline Roberts, and this was my first chance to give her books a whirl – and I’ll admit – I’m hooked! Rachel, her mother Jill and her five year old daughter Maisy have had a rough couple of years after her father’s death. Running the farm and coping with all of that, an absentee father for Maisy and the ever-increasing bills. Trying to make ends meet and find money everywhere they can, extensive renovations of the old cow byre were made, and they’d opened a very popular small café, specializing in home made bakes and treats. But, in the run-up to the holidays, with the decrease in tourists, things are tighter than ever and Rachel is worried that this idea may be one too many.

What emerges in this lovely story is a family, doing everything to cope with changes and challenges, and always trying to move forward. As unexpected as her father’s death was, and even in their grief, the Swinton women have banded together and are working every hour sent to make things work. From the aging Granny Ruth to the pet sheep that ‘starred’ in the school nativity play – there are moments to laugh and others where things feel a bit overly focused on ‘getting through’ the to-do list. But, when one understands the pressure that the very young (she’s only 24) Rachel has – from being a single parent, to grief, to the farm work and her worries about finances, it’s pretty easy to see HOW she’s not that great at opening up and sharing, or that days seem to be filled with busywork – because they really are. Adding in her neighbor and friend Tom as a romantic interest added another level of understanding Rachel and her own personal insecurities, as she really put him through it at times.

Overall, the story was warm and cozy, and with several recipes that feel very traditional and brought back memories of my gran’s own holiday baking, as well as a solid focus on using the Pudding Pantry to bring people together to chat about bakes, meet one another, and actually sample different bakes as well as share tips and tricks, the story felt very much like a romance meets Great British Bake Off – without the judge, Paul. But it was sweet and relaxing, a non-confrontational book that lead up to the holiday and through it – sharing traditions, treats and a few surprises that bring everyone together in a way that felt meant to be.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

What a lovely and cosy feel good festive feast of a book
This is the book we all love to curl up with on a cold winters night dressed in pjs in front of a roaring log fire with a steaming hot chocolate
The story is about a family that have gone through difficult and very dark times but have survived these to find light and love at the end of the journey
Reading this book has made me feel very festive indeed and ready for the forthcoming Christmas season

Good to return to Rachael's Pudding Pantry and follow the lives of those that I met in the previous book. I was unsure about reading a Christmas book so early but that did not matter because much of the book is about the last few months leading up to Christmas and that puts you on course to think about that! Many lovely recipes throughout the book, but one draw back is that it would help if they were repeated in an index at the end of the book so that they were easy to find when the book was finished, especially if reading the book on a kindle.

Looking forward to seeing what happens in spring. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
