What starts as a routine run becomes anything but ordinary for sexy NHL player, Jude Christensen, when he stops to rescue a yowling kitten in distress. He rushes the mauled kitten to Dr. Megan James, the most gorgeous woman he’s ever seen. Even though she seems reluctant to respond to their instant chemistry, Jude is used to working for what he wants. A new town, a new beginning, and a new life put Megan at a safe distance from the man that nearly killed her. But when her past returns to threaten her once again, the Savannah Heat captain walks a fine line; Megan is suspicious. She is hyper-alert to the dangerous difference between a man’s natural desire to protect his loved ones, and the need to own and dominate. Once fooled is more than enough for Megan. Will Jude be able to make her safe without interfering with Megan’s need to fight her own battles? Jude’s Sweet Fire is the first book in the Savannah Heat series. Boasting a real hero, a spunky heroine, fun and sassy friends, Southern charm and danger. The passion in this suspenseful romance will leave you breathless with satisfaction.
This was a pretty good book. I really liked both characters. The story really pulled me to not put it down until it was done. I recommend.

Megan and Jude have an interesting story. The meet cute is fun. The relationship is a little ineffective but the story overall is good.

This had an interesting blurb that caught my attention and while the plot was indeed interesting, the book seemed to drag a bit for me and seemed too drawn out. I liked the characters and it was an okay read but not one of my favorites. Maybe because I still had a book hangover from my previous read! I would still suggest it if you like hockey romances. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An interesting plot with a charged chemistry clearly evident in the main and secondary characters. At times the characters seems flat, lacking distinct personalities, yet other times they were quite dynamic. The dialog flowed well enough, dragging at times with extraneous tidbits that only served to lengthen the story. All in all, a promising start to a new series.

I wanted to read this book because I love hockey romances. It follows Jude, captain of the Savannah heat, and Megan, a vet. It started off promising, with the hero rescuing a kitten and Megan saving the kitten. But then this book had like 15 different story lines going on at once. First there was Megan’s crazy ex. Then Jude and his family, teammates, Megan’s family... there was just way too much going on with secondary characters and chapters skipped storylines etc. this book needs some serious editing.
Thank you to netgalley for the arc.

The story of Megan and Jude. She is a vet and he is an ice hockey player, who meet when he brings an injured kitten to her rescue. She has had a bad relationship in the past which comes back to haunt her - once she starts dating again her ex starts to stalk her and gets violent.
Interesting range of characters, and a fast paced story that keeps you interested.

This is Jude and Megan‘s book, this is the first book in the savanna Heat series. Jude is an NHL player and Megan is a veterinarian. While Jude is out jogging he sees a dog attacking a kitten he manages to get the dog away and remembers he saw a animal clinic So he rushes the baby kitten to the clinic and he can’t keep his eyes off of the hot sexy veterinarian! Megan is in a new town with a new beginning trying to keep far away from her ex that basically was a psycho! But when the captain of the savanna Heat hockey team comes in with a baby kitten she’s shocked about the heat between them and the chemistry but she also has no idea who he is LOL this book was really good I definitely enjoyed it the only part I didn’t like was there’s a few parts in different chapters that she explains kind of on and on about stuff that has no meaning ?! she just describes certain things , different scenarios that basically have no relevance to the storyline?! I was kind of scratching my head like why would she put so much of that in there and made no sense LOL but other than that it was a really good book, there wasn’t too much of that but enough that I noticed it! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
