I have had a hard time finding sweets recipe on the Keto diet. I tried a couple of these and they are easy and delicious! My son who is also on the diet thought I had made regular cookies! Thank you for helping our diet out with delicious alternatives.
I've been doing a low carb diet for a while (not keto but i'm counting macros and sticking to under 100 for carbs). That doesn't leave any room for any sort of desserts. So i was very excited to get this book and was very hopeful that i can now enjoy a dessert once in a while. This book didn't disappoint. There's a great variety of desserts in there, the recipes are simple and you have an option (and explanation about) of sweeteners that i wasn't even familiar with (monk fruit for one). I've been using Splenda but i'll be switching to monk fruit for daily use as well. The photographs are beauitful and allow you to visualize how the finished product is supposed to look- something that i personally really struggle with without pictures.
I was a little worried that these would be "fake keto" like a lot of recipes out there, loaded with carbs, but these really do stay on point.
I just love this cookbook!!! One of my biggest struggles with dieting is my love of desserts. the Keto lifestyle with the higher fat content has been perfect for me and the recipes are a home run. I absolutely love the pumpkin cheesecake recipe it is delicious and the chocolate mousse with the avocado is surprisingly creamy and tasty. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review. This dessert cookbook is one of the best I’ve found.
Fantastic! I’ve made 7 recipes out of this book and every single one has been stunning. Pictures are lovely, but I wish there were more throughout. Overall an excellent book!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with the ARC. I thought this was a good reference took for me as I am on a new Keto journey!
I really enjoyed this book! Great photos, great recipes! It is a keto sweet tooth lovers dream book to have.
These recipes look really delicious! I can’t wait to start making these yummy sounding cookies/cakes/desserts!!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is a really nice cookbook. The photos are beautiful, and the recipes have a nice variety. There is nutrition information handily broken down at the bottom of each recipe. The chocolate chip cookies are a winner, and my husband also enjoyed the "rice" pudding--he didn't even guess it was cauliflower!
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC.
I'd been on a keto diet for a week when I was approved to review this book. I wanted to see what options there were for me since I'm new (and grumpy) to the world of keto and I was pleasantly surprised. The book itself is simply and tastefully laid out, the instructions simple and easy to follow, and for the most part, the ingredients are common enough. I broke down and bought some sugar alcohol (no comment) and my first attempt at the chocolate coconut cream pie went well. I'm excited to try others that are even more simpler than the pie (dark chocolate peanut butter cups!) and embrace 'fat bombs' rather than run away from them. I'll be sharing this book with family for sure.

This sweet cookbook is one of the best in its category. The recipes range from simple to a bit more complicated and the pictures are gorgeous. There are many, many recipes I will be trying and perfecting--starting with gummies which I'm totally obsessed with! Be warned that some products that are used in the Keto recipes can be expensive comparatively speaking. Also, you'll need lots of eggs for some recipes. However, if you want sweet alternatives with less sugar, carbs and flour that are used in traditional recipes, this is the book to buy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book via Netgalley.
Mmmmm ..
Yum yum yum!!!
Ive been on the Paleo lifestyle for about 4 months now and the thing I miss most is something sweet as a treat. This book has so many great ideas, they are simple and easy to follow. For me they are easy to adapt to the Paleo eating style and they taste good !! Highly reccomend using this book to help cure your sweet fix :)
This book is amazing! A comprehensive guide to Keto baking. I've been doing Keto for 3 months (down 25 lbs, yay!) and while in the beginning it was hard to find adjustments, now I'm pretty stable. The only thing that makes me a little sad about Keto is the lack of sweets. I've tried Keto baking in the past, but my cookies, muffins and desserts have come out strange. The lack of gluten makes the dishes really moist and crumbly, and often has a strong nut taste. After reading this book, I've discovered xantham gum and guar guar! These act as binding agents, and now my desserts come out looking and tasting a lot like normal dessert! I love the variety of desserts in this book, the beautiful photos, and the very clear instructions. Learning about xantham and guar guar makes it much more likely that I'll stay Keto or low carb as my lifestyle of choice for a long time to come.
Keto Sweet Tooth Cookbook is a new low-carb dessert cookbook by Aaron Day. Released 9th July 2019 by Penguin on their DK imprint, it's 160 pages and available in ebook and paperback formats.
I have heard so many people comment that they could never follow a low-carb diet because they would have to give up desserts 'forever'. This interesting collection of recipes provides 80 tasty counter-arguments.
The author has done a good job of writing an accessible and logically formatted cookbook. The introductory sections (~14% of the total content) define the terms and give a very basic layman accessible overview of the metabolic processes behind ketogenic diets and how to make sweet foods sweet without adding sugar to them. This chapter also includes an overview of nut flours, binding agents and other specialized ingredients used in the recipes. The next chapters contain the recipes arranged by type: cakes, puddings, cookies, tarts, fat bombs, and frozen treats. The book does include an index.
The book is very well photographed and the composition is pleasant and easy to read. The recipes themselves are clear and easy to follow. Each recipe has a header with special symbols such as nut-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, with a short description of the recipe and approximate prep-times. The ingredients (given in American and metric measures) are listed in a sidebar, along with yields and serving sizes. Step by step directions are followed by nutrient information. Many (but not all) of the recipes are pictured.
We tried the peanut butter cups (p. 120) and have made them twice since the original experiment. They're a huge hit. We also tried the chocolate covered cheesecake fat bombs (p. 126) and they were also delicious.
It might be worth noting that some of the ingredients (nut flours, binding agents, confectioners erythritol) could possibly be difficult to source outside of mail-order or unless the reader lives near a very well stocked specialist grocery store.
Four stars. Highly recommended for people who enjoy dessert treats who are following a keto diet and also nice to have some keto-friendly recipes for work functions or keto-friendly dinner guests.
The following review will post on my baking blog on 8/19/19:

My husband and I try to eat pretty low-sugar, low-carb. Another version of that diet is the Keto diet, and while we are not strict Keto practitioners, recipes from that realm are often aligned with how we eat. So when I saw Keto Sweet Tooth Cookbook in NetGalley, I requested a copy to look at. I found a lot of recipes I thought I could make, although a few had ingredients I would have to buy for a few of them. I went for one where I had everything on hand.
When you eat consistently in this lower-sugar way, you don't need as much sweet to taste sweet. So to an outsider, the use of ingredients like straight unsweetened chocolate may seem strange, but it makes sense to the people in it. This recipe is lightly sweetened but is mostly high-fat ingredients. They will be shown plain but we are probably going to melt some of our Stevia-sweetened chocolate chips to drizzle on the top.

I found quite a few recipes in this cookbook that I would try:
Vanilla Cake with Fresh Berries
Lemon Coconut Cake with Cream Cheese Icing
Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding
Raspberry Souffle
Chocolate-Covered Cheesecake Fat Bombs
Chocolate Espresso Truffles
Whenever I see the DK logo, I know I'm going to be in good hands. This low-carb, low-sugar cookbook is approachable and filled with gorgeous photography. Recipes range from a basic vanilla cake with fresh berries to a decadent chocolate coconut cream pie.
This cookbook has beautiful pictures that made me want to bake everything. I've tried several desserts myself and so far my personal favorite is the chocolate coconut cream pie and I'm looking forward to making the ice cream sandwich. The wide variety of desserts should satisfy those eating keto who want to indulge their sweet tooth. The recipes are also easy to follow and the beginning is full of great tips for those new to using nut flours.
This book is great for those baking with dairy or gluten allergies as well. A lot of the recipes in this are gluten free due to the use of nut and coconut flowers. The recipes are clearly marked when they are gluten free, dairy free, or free of some other allergen.
I was first attracted to Aaron Day's recipes when I came across a video where he baked and compared several tiny loafs of bread made with different binders. That's when I knew that he works hard on his recipes and immediately subscribed to his channel!
All his concoctions are sugar free and can be enjoyed by people on keto or low carb diets. Many of them would be great for special occasions, though there are some that you can bake everyday if you chose to do so!
There are headings on top of each recipe stating whether it is nut free, gluten free, or egg free. Useful for those who have allergies.
No special ingredients and equipment are needed - an essential criteria for me in a cookbook. In fact, the ingredients are often what I look at first when I open the pages of a cookbook! I think there was one recipe that needed a special brand of ingredient (I forget which one now!)
Almost all the recipes are accompanied by very beautiful photographs (something we've come to expect from DK.)
Thank you, Netgalley and DK for the ARC. This is my honest review in exchange.
I appreciate this Keto cookbook. I love that they go into explaining ingredients as well as having fabulous recipes I will be looking to buy this book.!
5 big stars!! The fact that I am on a keto diet, and still learning, and I can make things like pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate dipped eclairs makes me want to scream with excitement. The pure joy of this cookbook has completely given me a new outlook on this new journey with keto. I can not wait to make and try everything in this cookbook. I did not go into this very confident and something simple as this cookbook, will help me get over any cravings I have. I am so glad I was able to be given a copy of this cookbook.
Thank you to Net Galley and Penguin Random House for a copy in return for my honest review!
Until recently, I was under the impression that the keto diet involved meat and sadness, but now I'm convinced that with a little bit of online research anything can be made to fit the keto diet. This collection of recipes did nothing but confirm that belief and make me want to run to the store.
There are even versions of desserts I was 100% sure could not be turned keto. Rice pudding and biscotti. They're both in here, and I am very curious about the rice pudding!
It has a great introduction to flours and sweeteners for the beginner keto baker, and some great tips and tricks to help your first experiment and beyond go smoothly.
If you're curious about the keto life but are a little hesitant because you'll have to give up the good stuff don't worry. There's still cake. Lots and lots of it.
