Kasia Amon is a master at hiding. Who—and what—she is makes her a mark for the entire supernatural world. Especially dragon shifters. To them, she’s treasure to be taken and claimed. A golden ticket to their highest throne. But she can’t stop bursting into flames, and there’s a sexy dragon shifter in town hunting for her...As a rogue dragon, Brand Astarot has spent his life in the dark, shunned by his own kind, concealing his true identity. Only his dangerous reputation ensures his survival. Delivering a phoenix to the feared Blood King will bring him one step closer to the revenge he's waited centuries to take. No way is he letting the feisty beauty get away. But when Kasia sparks a white-hot need in him that’s impossible to ignore, Brand begins to form a new plan: claim her for himself…and take back his birthright.
This was a pretty good book. I’m a sucker for dragon shifter books and this one didn’t disappoint. I really liked both Brand and Kasia.I liked following them through this journey. I look forward to reading more in this series.

"The Rogue King," by Abigail Owen was an engrossing read. I love paranormal books, with unusual worlds and tropes that you don't see that often. This book grabbed me fast with lots of action and a steamy encounters with the hero. The heroine was strong and more than capable of defending herself. I happen to love romances with strong heroines and this book lived up to that expectation. I will admit the middle dragged a bit, but the slack was picked up at the end.

I will add this author to my auto-buy list. I hope that this promising author continues to write books in this wonderful universe.

I am absolutely in love with this book! The Rogue King is everything I want in my paranormal romance! I mean, it features dragon shifters, phoenixes, and other paranormal beings!

As you may have noticed, I have been reading a lot of dragon shifter books, so I picked this up when I read the blurb. I loved the premise and The Rogue King did not disappoint!

Our hero is a rogue golden dragon, who doesn’t belong to a clan because his family was murdered by another golden dragon usurper. The heroine is a half-phoenix-half-dragon who just inherited her powers when her mother died.

Kasia and Brand are an amazing couple! It was clear from the moment they met that they had chemistry and they were destined to be together! I love the initial hate to love thing they had going on. In fact, Kasia tried to run from Brand after their initial meeting!

Kasia is a phoenix and in this book, phoenixes only gain power when their phoenix mother dies and gives her child (or children) her powers. I love reading about Kasia’s journey in gaining control and understanding her power. This also helped explain the world without “telling” the reading because we are experiencing everything the same as Kasia is learning about herself and her powers.

The romance between Kasia and Brand was so damn good! And the sexytimes are so damn steamy! I LOVE listening to Brand’s POV. (The book is written in the third person, but we still get Brand’s POV) and his struggles between revenge for what was done to his family and his growing love for Kasia. Because he is a rogue dragon and doesn’t belong to a clan, he has allied himself to the King of the Blue clan and works as an assassin for hire of sorts. By bringing the phoenix to the Blue Dragon King, he will be guaranteed a clan and he can seek revenge.

I can’t say enough how much I love this book. This is the first in the new Inferno Rising series and it sort of ends in a cliffhanger for the second book. Kasia and Brand get their HEA but the main villain has not yet been defeated.

I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to read book 2 in the series! I will also be checking out Abigail Owen’s backlist!

*4.5 Stars*
Wow! I'm so happy to have unearthed this one on my kindle. AOwen delivered an exciting story, full of action and steam as well as characters I'm fully invested in. Plus, DRAGONS! Oh, and a Phoenix, too! Brand thought the only important thing in his life was revenge. He had no room for a woman. So I enjoyed watching Kasia break down Brand's walls and wiggle her way into his heart. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

For those of you who haven’t heard. I’ve struggled to pick up a book recently. And when I started reading this one, I quickly found myself unable to put it down. I’ve officially found one a new paranormal romance series to obsess over.

I need to own every book ever written by Abigail Owen.

After reading mostly YA fantasy books for the longest time, The Rogue King was such a refreshing read. It made me question why I ever stopped reading adult paranormal romances in the first place!

This book was everything I needed to read and more. Kasia was such a strong female character who, after the loss of her mother, has lived life on the run. When she starts to experience things that she cannot understand, she looks for help and that’s when our resident dragon, Brand, enters the picture.

I’ve read many dragon-themed books in the past, but what stood out to me with The Rogue King, is that Abigail Owen has actually managed to capture the essence of a dragon in Brand. His character oozes dominance and that combined with our hard-headed heroine, and the chemistry between these two that flies off every page was perfect.

After reading an ARC of this book, I knew I needed the physical copy – so now I’m very impatiently waiting for it to arrive!

If you’re looking for a face paced, sort of steamy paranormal romance. Then I’m a hundred percent recommending this book. Abigail Owens has officially been added to my list of all-time favourite paranormal romance authors, alongside Donna Grant and Christine Feehan.

I will be looking forward to the next instalment in this series!

This was fun ride with a side of steamy. I liked the dragons. This was a satisfactory resolutions but I want to know what happens next. I am interested in the rest of Kasia's sisters and am definitely hoping for all sorts of fireworks between Skylar and Ladon.

This was a great story! I really enjoyed the world and the characters that the author created. The hero, Brand, is a dragon shifter that does not belong to any of the dragon clans. He is considered a rogue. He is sent on a mission to find a phoenix with the stipulation that he hand her over to one the dragon kings. Kasia is feisty and fearless. She has been in hiding until Brand finds her. As the two make their way, they encounter danger at ever turn. As they fight their way through their opponents, the attraction between sparks. This book was such a fun read. Hopefully, there will be more stories in this world!

Solid story. Suspense, sex appeal, and enough mystery to keep me guessing.
I enjoyed the character development. Kasia was likeable, sassy, and the chemistry between her and Brand was smoking.

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Yes, this had all the smuttiness that I needed.

The Rogue King was such a fun book to dive into. Wasn't expecting all of that sexiness to just be shoved into my face but I'm also not complaining one bit either. In it, you will meet Kasia and Brand. What Brand - like Hershey's? No, his name is just Brand. Weird - I know.

Now these two had amazing chemistry, like right from the start. Plus, this is a dragon shifter book so I was of course down for everything that was happening around Brand. Besides all of that, the bantering was on point and all the lovey-dovey stuff was too. Ugh, not a lot to complain about - other than the fact that it is over.

I look forward to the next book in this series!

Kasia is a phoenix, making her one of the most sought-after creatures in the world. All paranormal creatures seek to capture and exploit the good fortune a phoenix can bring. In an act of self-preservation, Kasia and her sisters have led reclusive lives. When a centuries-old vendetta threatens the phoenix sisters, Kasia is forced to put her faith in Brand, a dragon shifter mercenary hired to safely deliver her into the hands of the Blood King for a potential mating match. Brand, however, has his own secrets fuelling a vengeful agenda.

Rogue King was an engaging read from start to finish. This is a dynamic start to a series I cannot wait to explore. Owen’s characters are multi-faceted. Even the villains are granted a stint in the spotlight so readers can understand their motives and desires. The characterization is rich and has set the table for future installments. The politics of the dragon world is complicated and perilous. I’m hooked.

This is my first Abigail Owen read and I’m impressed. Owen’s work is on par with paranormal romance greats like Felicity Heaton and Christine Feehan. Her writing is sexy as hell. Owen’s plot and characters were more complex than typical paranormal romance fare, which is rare in this genre. I appreciate her creativity and shifting perspectives.

I eagerly anticipate future installments in this series

Tearful opening. Informative opening. Hope in the opening.

Kasia finds her life has taken a huge turn and she not sure if its for the best or the worse. She had a somewhat sheltered life. And now on her own she had to use the skills taught to her over the years. Alone but not, Kasia finds that life has something more in store for her.

Brand finds himself on the hunt for a key to the dragon shifter world. He finds that its his key to reclaiming what's his or at the least getting his revenge for a wrong done him long ago. Brand was the outcast, the rogue, the feared. At least to some point he was and wasn't. He finds that scent that activates his protective instincts. He will do what is needed to protect Kasia because she is the key to his revenge. She becomes so much more.

There were fantastic characters both good and bad. All of which you want to know more about. The full glimpse in to so many characters and you could still tell and feel this story was about Brand and Kasia. There was action, intensity, chemistry, passion. There were plots and secrets. The simple fact that it was dragon shifters was just enough for me but the rest of it all made it all come together and just take on more. A phoenix. Some wolf shifters. A few vampires. A bit more dragon shifters. A prize that was to be had.

The fire, the heat, the chemistry between one sassy, feisty phoenix and a rogue, alpha, dangerous dragon was off the charts good. Abigail Owen has put down a terrific start to a new shifter series that will have me coming back for each and every installment. It was more than the characters. The plot. The action. The danger. The eluding of what's to come. The ride that some characters will have to take to find that elusive dream of forever.

Dragon shifters galore!!

A quarter through this book and I was invested. I fell for Brand pretty quickly. I knew that there was something special about him, even when he was a brooding man.

I’ve always loved Phoenixes, so the whole story with Kasia and her sisters was very intriguing to me. It was very thought out as was the stories of all the shifters. I like the dynamic between all of them and I am truly wondering in future books how it’s all going to come together.

Also, can I just say that I loved all the men in Brand’s clans. They are a band of brothers and I love the dynamic.

There was plenty of action and adventure. There was also a LOT of steamy scenes. I was very happy with all of those and the passion that came with them. If you are looking for a steamy beach read this summer, DEFINITELY pick this one up.

Kasia has to hide as she is wanted by everyone that's supernatural. A Phoenix is the biggest treasure of all especially for the Dragon shifters who would treasure her for what she could be used for. Brand is a rogue dragon shifter, living by himself but he knows if he can find Kasia, he would be able to exact revenge he has harbored for centuries. When Kasia and Brand meet, he can't hide the longing he has for her. He wants to claim andkeep her for his own. I love the chemistry between them. The author creates a world that only a great imagination could. I want to go there. I received this book from Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for a honest review.
