A historical mystery filled with romance, How To Train a Viscount is a delightful short read.

In this story, we find Adam dealing with the death of his employer a viscount. When he has to flee unexpectedly he is erroneously introduced as a viscount. No one knows the papers he holds are not his but of his previous employer.

Now, he must learn how to be a viscount quickly or risk being imprisoned for impersonating a nobleman. In comes Lady Isla McIntyre to the rescue.

I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Very sweet historical romance. The heroine has been jilted and the hero is not really a viscount. An entertaining read with a bit of intrigue mixed in.

Adam and Isla are people with secrets. Adam witnessed the murder of his employer, a newly named viscount. Unfortunately for him, he came upon the body and the murderer. Fortunately for him, he had already arranged passage to England for his now dead employer and also had all his papers in hand. His escape, assume the viscount's identity at least as far as England and safety, after all he knows nothing about being a nobleman. However, once he is assumed to be the new viscount, he finds no way back to his normal life. He meets Lady Isla at his first public soiree and recognizes her as a kindred soul even though she is definitely noble. He hired her to teach him how to be a viscount. Just what kind of a discount does he make? What is Isla's secret, she only tells Adam? I love Bianca Blythe's books. She has such a great imagination, so she is able to place her characters in very unique situations. This tale is no different from her other offerings, quick paced, full of intrigue, danger, and rich, very likeable characters. I have not yet read a book of here that I did not greatly enjoy.

Good book to read if you like historical romance genre.
The main leads were sweet and lovable.
The plot keep me enough entertained to make sure I read more books of tgis author.

Adam is a working man. After being confronted by a murderer he runs and turns into a Viscount. What a lovely story! Isla is alone, after being jilted. She thinks she's content till she meets Adam. They are such a sweet couple. This story is a true love story. Enjoy it!

This is Adam and Isla’s story, book 4 in the Wedding Trouble series; a standalone, no cheating, happily ever after, historical romance with some heat.
This is a well written story with some humor, however; I’m not a fan of the characterization of Isla and her life choices, this prejudiced my view of the entire story. I did like mild-mannered Adam.

Adam isn't a viscount. He was living in the cape in Africa when he saw his boss murdered. The murderer was the local magistrate so Adam can't report him, instead he flees on the boat to England the real viscount was meant to be on. Things are ok until they get to Brighton where it turns out that the captain works for the Duke of Belmonte who just happens to reside in Brighton... The capatain offers to take Adam to meet the duke and nothing Adam does can stop him!

Isla was jilted by her fiancé who married someone wholly unsuitable. She has decided to become a spinster and move to the seaside. Thing is, she isn't the type for a quaint cottage in a remote town. She wants to live in Brighton

Isla gets invited to a ball where she realises that she is feared by the ladies of the town, she is too young and pretty to be a spinster, so is she there to steal their husbands and make trouble? Adam ends up at the same ball, feeling totally out of place and uncomfortable. He is taken by Isla's beauty and speaks to her briefly before escaping out through the window!

Realising that he won't easily be able to shed the lie of being a viscount, Adam needs help. He goes to Isla and asks her to train him in how to be a viscount, how to cope with the aristocracy, what he needs to do to blend in

Can Isla's lessons teach him enough? Can Adam become confident enough to pull of being a viscount? Will they be able to get through his lessons without falling for each other?

I enjoyed this book, however although I understood why he had them, Adams insecurities started to annoy me. Isla was more worried about appearances and for a large part of the book it seemed that for her there was nothing more important than how she looked, how she presented herself. Once they developed more as characters I started to enjoy their story more. I will say that Isla's list on what one must do to train a viscount did make me smile!

I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a historical romance with a bit of a twist!

This was a quick read for me and it was quite enjoyable. I completely shipped Isla and Adam but it would have been nice to have more back story rather than being told the main characters past.
I liked this book but as I said, more backstory would definitely help the plot feel smoother.
Not a bad read at all :)

Heroine (Lady Isla McIntyre): 2/5 Isla is a woman approaching spinsterhood after being jilted by her childhood friend. She understands the edicate of the ton and would like nothing more than to continue attending parties for the rest of her days. During the war she used her ability to mix at parties to be a proficient spy.

Hero (Adam, Lord Tremont): 1/5 Adam is a dreamy idealist who starts with the belief that aristocrats are so far above him. Until he is one of them and needs to start acting like it. He was an aid to a third son of a Lord and never saw himself as being able to meet a Viscount let alone be one.

Plot: 2/5 Adam was an aid to a third son who never dreamed to inherit and was working in the Cape Colony in Africa and when he does but suddenly dies it is Adam that goes to take up the mantel. It is either that or face the murderer. Once on English soil he makes arrangements to take the inheritance but will need lessons on how to act the part. Isla offers to train him in order to take her mind off her ex fiance who is in town with his wife. But Isla falls for Adam quickly and soon they are spending time together outside of their lessons. Will Adam fool everyone and get the girl?

Personal Review: Honestly everything seems to happen off page so I just couldn’t get into the story. The murder of Randall happens before Adam arrives, Adam’s lessons (and thus where chemistry should heat up) are off page, and all of Lady Isla’s career as a spy happens before we meet her.

We know Randall for less than two pages and are beaten over the head into understanding that he is not a good person and basically deserves his fate. This is so Adam is in no way a bad person for taking his identity. Adam can’t possibly be a morally grey character despite his morally grey actions.

Adam is the weakest male lead I’ve read in awhile. Things happen to him under the guise of him making decisions. He is forced to flee the country or die, he is forced to keep up his disguise because he is forced to accompany the ship captain to the Duke’s house, and he is forced to attend a party where he meets Isla. He is also very naive (which is understandable given he is basically culture shocked) and is very simplistic in his thoughts (yes I understand he didn’t attend school like a real heir). In some books of this genre it is the heroine that assumes these traits

Why didn’t Callum or his brother or Isla’s brother talk to her, like at all since Callum broke the engagement? I’m sure there was a way to end the betrothal without hurting Isla’s prospects. They avoid her like the plague until she’s in a relationship with Adam and suddenly she’s just back in the group. It’s unsettling. That’s not how you treat family and the four of them grew up together.

Why didn’t Isla’s history as a spy be of use in the story? She could have figured out the bad guy was in one scene instead of being directly told he was there. Something like that.

There was a servant at the first party Adam goes to that is later fired for being skeptical of Adam. He meets him again a few scenes later and is again skeptical that Adam is the real Viscount. And then he is never mentioned again and the servant never openly accuses Adam of lying or cast doubt on him in any way. Why have this character at all?

Honestly I wanted to like this book, but it had too many things that pulled me out of the experience to find it enjoyable. I might try this author again later, but this book was not for me.

I loved Adam and Isla's story. Such a sweet story. A quick read!

The plot for How to train a Viscount was very interesting. Adam is a witness to the murder of his employer. To escape being the next target, his only choice is to impersonate his employer, the Viscount, and travel to England. Once there he meets Lady Isla McIntyre, recently jilted and looking for a distraction. Teaching Adam the tricks to pass off as the true Viscount seemed the perfect opportunity to move forward. In the process, they fall in love, find the murderer and uncover the truth.

Adam was an amazing hero. He was cute, funny and non-brooding gentleman who are so rare in historical romances. His slipups after he arrives in England were cute and funny. While it was easy to like Adam, I was not able to warm to Isla so easily.

While I would have liked to read more about their romance and how she teaches Adam, the story focused more on Isla's past miseries and his nervousness. I did like the mystery behind the murder and I thought it was well plotted.

This is the fourth book in the Wedding Trouble series but can be read as a standalone. It was full of drama, misery, mystery, murder and romance. The characters from the previous books show up in this book and add an interesting twist to the story line. I really liked the characters in the book and felt sad for Isla. Her brother and their friends deserted her when she needed them. Adam was such a great hero and so sensitive to Isla's loneliness. The book well written and kept the readers attention. I couldn’t put the book down once I started to read it because I wanted to find out how it would end.

this was my first time reading a book by Bianca Blythe and it will definitely not be my last. The characters were unique, had some depth and truly captured my attention. Training a viscount might seem to be an easy job but... when you grew up on the wrong side of the pond there is a lot to learn and they have so little time.
The only thing about the book I didn't like was that it seemed to skim over details and lessons, I would have loved to see more lessons as I know there are many things that need to be learned in order to pass as a viscount. But it was still a good book to read and get lost in for a few hours.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars for fun characters, unique twists, and lessons learned.

How to Train a Viscount by Bianca Blythe is book 4 in the Wedding Trouble Series. This is the story of
Adam and Isla. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Isla was to marry a Duke but was jilted so now she is pretty much shun by the town but she has went forward to take her life in a different direction. Adam was helping his employer get ready to travel to claim a Viscount title in England that they both were surprised about. But then his employer was murdered and now they are after him. Adam ends up taking his employers information and heads to England for safety. Once there he asked Isla to help him learn the way of the town and their mannerisms. Of course they are both attracted to each other which leads to feelings start to build between the two.
Enjoyed their story.

I love books by Bianca Blythe. She keeps them interesting and you never know what is coming. While this book was not what I was expecting it was very good. Adam is an unlikely Viscount and Isla is just the woman to teach him how to be a proper one. The reader will like this story from the first page.

Adam is shocked when his employer unexpectedly becomes a viscount, but he is more shocked when his employer is murdered. When the killer spots Adam, there's only one thing Adam can do: flee.When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Bianca Blythe is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work.You should definitely read this book.Can't wait for the next book.

A short book and very different from anything I've read in quite a while.
Adam witnesses the murder of his employer, who just inheirted his title. He assumes his employer's Identity and sails to England. Once in England, he hires a young lady to teach him how to make his way in society. Eventhough he reveals his true identity to her, it doesn't make any difference. Soon their lives are in danger from a murderer.

The story begins with the murder of George Randall, the soon to be Viscount Tremont, and from then on, the storyline is equally engaging and enthralling. Having witnessed the murderer at the scene of the crime, Adam flees to London with the documentation that he had obtained for George, his employer. On his arrival in London, he soon realises that he is missing many of the necessary skills to make everyone believe he is the true Viscount and enlists the help of Lady Isla McIntyre. Isla has decided that after her betrothed, the Duke of Belmonte, publicly left her to elope with another, that she will remain a spinster. But it is on meeting Adam and the etiquette lessons that follow, that their relationship develops. However, Adam’s past soon returns to haunt him, threatening their blossoming romance.
Both Adam and Isla were such genuine and authentic characters. Their romance was so lovely to read about. They both find the goodness in the other as the basis for their friendship and it grows as they realise, they can’t be without the other. What makes this book stand alone is the gentle, caring nature of Adam, who grows into the role of the Viscount, whilst never taking anything for granted.
As the fourth book in the series, many of the characters from the previous three books appear, yet the author is so clever in her ability to immerse other characters into the storyline, that this can be read as a standalone book. However, it would be worth your reading pleasure to read all the previous ones!

-Murder, mystery, suspense, romance all rolled in one story.
-I didn't see any chemistry between Ilsa and Adam but I still thought they were a good match.
-Somewhat by surprise we learn facts about Lady Ilsa that shouldn't have happened in her past. But she's not even contrite about them and they are endorsed by Adam as if it was all normal stuff.
-The story line is good. We see all the other couples from previous books again and they somewhat left Ilsa behind. Society also left Ilsa behind. She loves socials so it's really difficult for her. Then comes Adam and he needs guidance. She needs someone to need her. She does a good job too. I wish we could have seen more romance/flirting while she was teaching. Then when Ilsa needs help herself, all her friends and family are behind her to advise and support. That was great.
-I particularly didn't like Ilsa's companion, Mrs Grant. She was too open with her opinions and if she was my servant I would have cast her away a long time ago. I don't understand why Ilsa put up with her.
-Like any of Blythe's books, the editing needs another pass and maybe she should put more $$ there. Hamish has no title so he's not Lord Hamish. Missing words/Too many words here and there. Misnamed people.
