Such a cute story! Once I got started, I had a hard time putting it down. This sweet love story shows that no matter how hard you plan, the best things in life end up being the unplanned and spontaneous đź’ś
Can’t wait to read book 2!
This is the perfect beach vacation read for any contemporary romance fan! It was super fun and a super quick read. I loved Libby and really like Harrison as well. If you are looking for a fun beach read I definitely recommend picking The Honeymooner! I can't wait to read more from Melanie Summers.

Libby Dewitt's life is turned upside down when she is jilted at the altar. An extreme workaholic (she was even sending work emails on the way to her wedding!), she decides to still go on her honeymoon/business trip.
Harrison Banks is a nice guy, who happens to own the resort that Libby's company is trying to buy out.
I wanted to love this book, but I just couldn't. Libby is slut-shamey and unrealistic and unfeeling. Harrison is just too nice. Like, to the point of barely having a personality. Real people aren't like that. I tried to forge through it, but an off-color joke about #metoo, and I was out.
Whenever a romance novel starts with the heroine going to her wedding, you know that she’s going to be abandoned at the altar. And that’s how this starts out. After that rather predictable start, Libby decides to head out on their planned honeymoon to a Caribbean island where she hopes to persuade the handsome, hunky owner to sell to her company. Harrison the Hunk doesn’t want to sell, but he is willing to show her what his island resort offers and Libby promises to help him figure out ways to keep his resort from going bankrupt. And, surprise, surprise, they fall for each other. Much about this novel was predictable, but it was still a bit of frothy fun.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
A quick cute and funny story that would be a perfect book for the pool or beach. I really liked the characters, even if their story was a little silly at times. I’ll be interested to read about what happens next at the Paradise Bay Resort!
I don’t know what it is about summer and romance reads, for me. This was so cute. I such a great beach, pool read!!!
This was a fun, summer read. You never know where you will find true love. A fun novel that I couldn't put down
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
This book was hilarious! I really enjoyed the character of Libby and the chemistry between her and Harrison was off the charts. This was a great summer read that was light and refreshing. Harrison brought out the best in Libby and this is definitely a book I would read again. I am looking forward to reading more from Melanie Summers in the future!
This is a delightful, sweet and funny romance. Libby Dewitt was born Breeze Liberty Dewitt to a flaky, hippie mother. The first six years of her life were chaotic until her mother dropped her off with her grandparents. To keep from ending like her mother, she plans every aspect of her life including her marriage to Richard Tomey. When Richard dumps her via text at the wedding, Libby plans on going on the Honeymoon, which was also a business trip for her, and plans on getting Richard back. Harrison Banks inherited the resort from his Uncle Oscar, and runs it like all his employees are family. Harrison is hot, kind and generous. That generosity has put his resort in a bit of a financial pickle. Will Libby pick Richard or Harrison? Will Harrison sell his resort? This is the perfect book to read on the beach or poolside. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This was a very quick, short read. It would be the perfect beach-type read. It's fun and makes me wish I could have read it relaxing on the beach with a pina colada in my other hand.
This was a fun summer read! Why not go on your honeymoon after being left at the alter, especially when you had planned to do some work anyways... will he be able to save his hotel? Will she be able to let go and have a little fun? This was a cute, fun read and i would definitely read the next in the series.

This book stated a little slow for me. I was bogged down in the details. Once she got to the island, it picked up. I liked the characters and the imagery was very good. Looking forward to the next book.
I really, really enjoyed The Honeymooner. It was laugh out loud funny in some spots and undeniably sweet.
Libby is a seriously organized planner who is sending out work emails on the day of her wedding.
Harrison is a super hero brother, owner, and all around good guy who is taking care of everyone and trying to keep his family business afloat.
Though I was sure I knew how this story would end, it was a fun read, and I liked the chemistry between the main characters. Written from both Libby and Harrison’s POV, I liked Harrison’s POV more. I sort of felt like Libby was a little too neurotic for my liking and Harrison was more straight forward.
Great beach lounging read!
Also, I can’t wait for Emma’s story!
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the option read this book.
The Honeymooners was so good!
The synopsis does not do it justice! Every word in this book will either but a smile on your face, have you giggling, or it will have you wanting to hit something.
First you have a wedding that doesn't go to plan at all. A calm bride who has so much grace. Then you have a super scared Groom...who is a complete jerk!
Then you have the Honeymoon with a super hot as heck owner.
This book will have you swooning and laughing out loud.
I absolutely love how Harrison helped Libby! She needed that push to learn to live life!
Ugh I am so sad it is over! I want to learn everything there is to learn about Libby and Harrison.
While reading this book 311's Love Song was playing over and over in my head.
Enjoy!
Laugh out loud funny!! Such a good story of life even when it goes wrong. So very wrong. I loved it from front to back. Definitely a great beach read.
Libby Dewitt always has a plan, for all aspects of her life; until just before her dream wedding to Richard he dumps her, via text. Humiliated Libby heads off on what should have been her honeymoon (which she has also planned to double up as a work trip) to come up with a new plan to win Richard back. Arriving in Paradise Bay, Libby is quickly reminded that if she wants to progress at work she'll need to put her feelings about Richard to one side and concentrate on her reason she booked that location, to initiate an acquisition of the struggling resort by conglomerate GlobalLux; in order to do that she'll need to spend plenty of time in the company of owner Harrison.
I really enjoyed the way the characters were written, particularly the side characters, Harrison's employees and Libby's infuriating colleagues all really added to the humour, however, I did have some problems with the main characters, for me they both felt a little exaggerated, particularity at the start. Obviously, this makes Libby's character journey feel more pronounced but it took me a while to like her and personally for this style of romantic comedy I need to be able to get behind the protagonist and root for her from the start to love a book.
The book opens with a few emails sent from Libby to Harrison letting him know she's booked her honeymoon at his resort and would like to set up a business meeting to discuss the potential acquisition, this was a great little prequel which set the scene perfectly. Overall a quick read at just under 250 pages, I've given this 3 stars as I struggled to get into it but was definitely enjoying it more from around half way through, plus it made me really excited for our holiday later in the year.
This was a fun book and perfect for reading by the pool. While the plot may have been largely predictable the journey itself is filled with warmth and humor.

3.5 stars
This was a witty and humorous read that's absolutely perfect for the summer or as reading material while on vacation. It gave me all of the vibes of being on vacation and I know for certain it would be a perfect addition for a day at the beach.
Both of these characters were vastly different but at the same time worked well together. It brings truth to the statement of opposites attracting. Their dialogue was often humorous and there was even a couple of moments that had me laughing out loud and I mean that in the literal sense.
The writing and the story seemed similar to works from Sophie Kinsella (whom I love) so for fans of her novels, this one may also be of interest.
I'm really interested in reading the next novel in the series after reading the summary. It will feature a different main character and I'm suspecting my favourite trope--'hate-to love' between an author and chef. I will be keeping my eyes peeled and hope it's just as enjoyable as the first novel in this series.

A good, fun read. There were parts that I actually laughed aloud at, and the interaction between the two main characters was really great. It was missing some element that my favorite books have, but I can't put my finger on what. Overall, really enjoyable, and I'd read others by this author in the future.
Such a fun read. Both Libby and Harrison were great characters. Loved the alternating pov chapters as they were a really great way to understand both characters and get into their heads and their hearts. The story was written in a very accessible way. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout and the romance between the leads was very engaging. I look forward to the rest of the series and hopefully seeing Emma, (who seems sooo fun), and adventurer Will get their own happy endings.
