"Chakras" by Tori Hartman is a comprehensive guidebook that explores the seven energy centers in the body known as chakras. The book provides readers with an in-depth understanding of each chakra, including its location, corresponding color, and the physical and emotional issues associated with it.
Hartman begins by introducing the concept of chakras and explains how they work to regulate the flow of energy in our bodies. She then goes on to describe each chakra in detail, starting from the root chakra and moving all the way up to the crown chakra.
Each chapter focuses on a specific chakra and includes exercises and meditations designed to help readers balance and align their energy centers. Hartman also provides practical advice on how to incorporate these practices into everyday life, making the book a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their overall well-being.
What sets "Chakras" apart from other books on the topic is Hartman's unique approach. She draws on her background as an intuitive counselor and spiritual teacher to provide readers with a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological aspects of each chakra.
For example, Hartman explains that the root chakra, located at the base of the spine, is associated with issues of survival, safety, and security. She suggests that those who struggle with feelings of fear and anxiety may benefit from focusing on this chakra and using the exercises and meditations provided to help balance their energy.
Similarly, the heart chakra is associated with love and compassion, and Hartman provides practical tools for those looking to cultivate these qualities within themselves. She also explores how imbalances in this chakra can lead to issues such as jealousy, anger, and resentment.
Throughout the book, Hartman emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and encourages readers to pay attention to their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. By doing so, she suggests, we can gain a better understanding of our own energy centers and take steps to bring them into alignment.
Overall, "Chakras" is a well-written and insightful guidebook that provides readers with a comprehensive understanding of the chakra system. Hartman's approach is accessible and practical, making it a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Thank you so much for allowing me to read and review your titles.
I do appreciate it and continue to review books that I get the chance to read.
Thanks again!
VERY informational for anyone interested in chakras. This is a well-written, informative, and comprehensive guide to the seven chakras. I feel I now have a better understanding after finishing this book.
It was an interesting book it really went into detail about your personal chakra and how to use that to your advantage. I enjoyed Hartman's description used to make Chakra's something that I could easily understand. It is something I am for sure interested in but that I know little about.
I found this book quite refreshing! It's been a good while sense I have focused on my chakras and reading this book was the perfect refresher course I needed to get some much needed chakras unblocked and to remind me of all the facts that were buried. Reading this book, as well as reading Ms. Hartman's other books and decks has definitely had a positive impact on my life. Working on my chakras, has helped me strengthen reading the tarot & other forms of divination.
I think this book is perfect for a beginner wanting to increase their awareness of their chakras or even someone that has learned but could use a refresher. In this book, there is a well laid out table of contents that tells you which page to focus on which chakra and specific areas that you can learn more about
This is a well-written, informative, and comprehensive guide to the seven chakras. I love the correspondences given for each one and the reflections/meditations. There is also history for both traditional Eastern practices and modern Western practices.
Thus far, this is the best beginners guide I have come across. I would even say that it is a handy guidebook for those already versed in chakra practice.
Found this book really informative and interesting. One of the better books that I have read about chakras. Thank you for the copy!
A wonderfully detailed, easy to understand, introduction to the seven chakras. Great for beginners. As someone who understands nothing about the energies of chakras this was a really interesting book for me. I know a few things about tarot but not much about chakras and this book helped explain in a way that wasn't overly confusing. I think this would be great for anyone interested in learning more on this topic but needed an introductory guide. Users already familiar may find more to learn here as well.
Thank you Netgalley and Publishers for granting me early access to "Chakras".
I'm currently in the middle of a major move, and will definitely come back at a later time and write out a full review and rating.
Thank you so much!
I found myself really confused by the end of this book. While the layout was fairly clear and fit the subject at hand, the author could use a strong editing hand when it comes to anecdotes and the longer winded philosophy sections.
As promised by the author and publisher, this book is an excellent introductory guide and the language is accessible to beginners- no confusing "woo-woo" banter, I promise. Though the concept of chakras can be difficult to understand with no ability to visually see the chakras, author Hartman explains their locations in detail, how to visualize them, and what physical parts they impact. Next, she gives a breakdown of how to understand, utilize, charge, and calm the chakras, along with tips like what crystals to utilize while working with each specific chakra. Then, Hartman caps each chapter on the chakras with a short example story of how the chakras can influence our lives, even if we don't realize it, and then she provides an guided exercise on ways to get in tune with each specific chakra.
I read through the book without putting any of the tips into practice, so I can't vouch just yet for the effectiveness of this guide book, but as far as the amount of information involved, I can say Hartman has thoroughly explained anything that a beginner might want to know about chakras. I also really enjoyed that in the sections of guided exercises, because she writes as if she's speaking to a yoga class- deep breath here, visualize there- leaving no guesswork as to how to go about utilizing her information. It's conversationally written between sections, and practical for readers who are of the DIY type. I'm hoping to go through the guide again when I have a weekend to myself this winter!
In the final chapters of the reference, Hartman goes over additional ways to center and align all the chakras, and things to keep in mind while going through the spiritual journey. These final notes also summarize the key information the reader should have gained while reading, and provide additional reference materials in case they prefer to deepen their research on chakras. Overall, I'm really pleased with Chakras: Using the Chakras for Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual Well-Being and am glad that I'll be able to reference it for my own spiritual growth, as well as share it's knowledge with others.

If I were to pick one book for my go-to reference on chakras this would be it. "Chakras", by Tori Hartman is a wonderfully written book to give you a deeper understanding of each of your seven chakras points. Each chapter is dedicated to a chakra, with several different references such as color, meanings, organs it is associated with, as well as physical challenges you may be experiencing with each one. I thoroughly enjoyed the meditations created for each chakra, and the personal guidance for journaling, contemplation and chakra exercises the author gives you in each chapter. I now have a better understanding on how to activate each of my seven chakra points, with a renewed sense of personal intuition. Blessings💜

"Chakras" by Tori Hartman is a very in-depth look at each chakra. It goes into detail about how you can recognize troubles with each chakra, also crystals that can be used to balance the chakras and activities (i.e. journalling) that can also help to balance the chakras. It Is one of the most detailed tomes I've seen dealing with chakras.
I'm not sure what I was expecting when I opened this book, but it was definitely more of a textbook style than the fluffy style I anticipated. Each chakra is fully defined and Hartman even includes meditations to help you hone in on your chakras.
The other thing I really liked about this book is that Hartman offers a list of other recommended books to further learning about the chakras. I will be hopefully checking these out as well!
This is a book that I'll return to again and again to keep my chakras balanced. It's great for both novices and those already experienced in chakras. Highly recommend!

I think this is a great place to start if you're just looking into your chakras.
Not sure what to make of this. I am still not sure I believe in Chakras but the author has an interesting view on the human body.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy.
What I liked about this book: I appreciate that the author started the book with a brief history of chakras. I found this quite interesting. I also liked the meditation and journaling exercises for each chakra. The entire book is really comprehensive and perfect for beginners.
What I disliked about the book: A glossary would have been nice.
