Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I really like this book. I read anything with a motorcycle on it and this book did not disappoint at all. I am always pleased to see a guy be sweet with a girl. A lot of us forget that love is out there
This was for sure a quick read for me and though at times I found myself so annoyed with the female lead, I could see the draw of this book. It didn’t go through the will they won’t they plot that a lot of similar romance books have but rather the author jumped straight into having the female & male lead fall into a relationship. These two did have some previous connection and I think the author did a great job in explaining their background so the character’s rushed relationship wouldn’t feel too forced and quick so I definitely appreciated that.
It did have some low level angst pertaining to both the female lead’s insecurities and fears & just plain miscommunication but this issue was wrapped up pretty quickly as well. All in all it was for sure an entertainingly short read!
Allison and Nick spent time together when they were young. Years later, Allison is dealing with the death of her father from a motorcycle accident. She is living in her father's house and her childhood crush Nick show up on a motorcycle. Allison has sworn to never data a guy with a motorcycle. Nick understands but isn't giving in and is determined to have Allison. This is a fast paced story with so much packed in it felt rushed at times.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
The book was nice, but it felt a bit rushed. Like other reviewers said, it was a bit too fast paced. I would have liked more... well, more. More conversations, more tellying, more interactions.
The chemistry between the two MCs was great though :)
I received this book in exchange for my honest review. THank you NetGalley!
Revving Her Heart is a short story. The characters had amazing chemistry. I'd love to read more by this author!
This book was complementary of Wild Rose Press and Net Galley. I think the pages of this book burns in person because it was so hot. If you ever wondered what kink can be in real life, this book gives you a great view of it. The story is a touching love story for past years. As a whole, this book was one of my favorites.
Revving Her Heart is a sweet sort of second chance romance with almost lovers from a decade ago. It also had heart more than romantic wise with grief, loss, healing, family, friends and passions. Absolutely loved how those elements created depth and relativity that may connect to readers and resonate in them in multitude of ways. Doesn't hurt that it will have readers rooting for the hero and heroine, as well as hoping the brothers find better love interests too, perhaps in their own stories?
DNF at about 10%. It was a too formulaic and the characters didn't feel real at all.
ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review
Revving Her Heart is the first book in the Blacke Brothers series by Cadence Vonn. After the sudden death of Allison Lorde's father in a motorcycle accident, she vows never to love a man who rides the beastly machines. But when a memory from her past rides up on his bike, looking all bad-boy sexy, the sweet promise of a shared kiss long ago makes it difficult to deny his steamy seduction. Nick Blacke's number one passion is motorcycles until the gangly girl he'd kissed as a teen shows up with womanly curves that beckon to be explored. She seems eager to let him and even embraces his penchant for kink, but when he wants more, he realizes revving her engines might be easier than revving her heart.
Revving Her Heart is a contemporary romance with a lot of heart. Allison is dealing with the loss of her father, and a less than loving relationship with her mother. She is trying to come to terms with it all when Nick comes back into her life. They each have their own fears and doubts, but Al's seem to be much heavier to bear, and sometimes cut the deepest. I also like that they really had some struggles but in the end compromised and worked things out like adults rather than just ignoring the issues that might cause issues down the road. I liked the banter and connection between the pair, although even with their history I do think some things moved more quickly than I expected. However, I really enjoyed the story as a whole. I do need to say that there were a couple moments that I had to go back and reread previous pages because I missed how they got to a certain location or in mentioned outfits, sometimes giving up and just going with it. This is definitely a book with plenty of heat, and exploration of some kink. So, if you prefer your romance without some serious sex scenes, then you might want to skip this. The heat starts fairy early and regularly makes itself known. I really liked the secondary characters, and want to see how Nick's brothers find their own happy endings, not to mention Hailey and Rebecca. So, while I enjoyed but did not love this read, I do find that I like the author's voice and want to continue reading about whatever might happen next.
Revving Her Heart is a good romance, and I can see a great deal of potential for this series. I will definitely be giving the next book a read.
3.5 stars for this book
I liked the story it just felt a little rushed at times. Especially at the beginning and end of the book. I understand cliffhangers but it still felt rushed to even leave it with a cliffhanger.
That being said, I did like the characters. I found the book easy and quick to read. It did keep my attention right to the end. If there is a 2nd book in the series I will read it. I'm hoping it will expand more on Nick and Allison's relationship towards the end of the book.
Allison seems like a sweet girl who struggles after the death of her father. Her concerns were legit and relatable. I like it when characters have realistic feelings and issues, it makes the story easier to connect to.
Nick holding a candle for Allison for 10 years seems interesting. I would have liked more background on what they were like while they were apart. I felt like he and Allison rushed into their relationship without much talk about their time apart. I would have enjoyed that back story.
When I started reading I felt like there were parts missing. For me, it moved too quickly throughout this rather short book. The characters are great and really relatable and I hope there is more in future books, hopefully, she’ll make them a bit longer too.
This book was not at all what I expected, but was pleasantly surprised for lots of reasons. First, this was a new-to-me author and when I see a motorcycle on the cover, I MUST read it. I don't know what I was really expecting, to be honest, but what I got was a very thoughtful and sweet love story between childhood acquaintances Allison and Nick, who reunited after the death of Allison's father. First, this all takes place in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is only 40 minutes from where I live and that was pretty awesome because the author really stayed true to geographic locale, weather, etc. The relationship between Nick and Allison is cutesy and then grows to passionate and then there's a tad bit of eroticism thrown in for good measure. But there's still an underlying issue between the two that neither one of them can seem to communicate correctly about and the last few chapters of the book are about whether they will or won't, and how they deal with a new tragedy will either make things easier or harder for the pair. So you'll have to read it to see how that goes. The supporting characters are great and had wonderful personalities that really aided in the storytelling. I will definitely recommend this book and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.
Revving Her Heart is fast paced! I was impressed by Candace Vonn's ability to balance this romance with the launch of the series. I really didnt feel the story suffers for the introduction of so many series characters; and the characters are layered and intriguing, which bodes well for the series. Candace creates a detailed world and has peopled it with compelling characters. Revving Her Heart features a strong hero and heroine, clear voiced and passionate. Their journey to happily ever after was entertaining. I'm on board for the series!
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.
Really liked the premise of this book and the story line but I think the book needs a content editor to help with the story flow. I really liked Nick especially the handcuff scene. Allison issues seemed to take over the whole book so I didn't really like her. In my opinion Nick was the better character. I would try another book by this author
The blurb sounded promising, but when I started reading I felt like there were parts missing. For me it moved to quickly throughout this rather short book.
Some of the side characters where just annoying and it didn’t really fit in some places to add them into the scene. I think it was meant to cause drama/a twist, but for me this fell a bit flat.
I received this ebook copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
This is fast paced and a short read, I liked the characters but I didn't feel like I knew them. This was just okay for me something was missing for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
The blurb was great and the idea behind it was also interesting but I felt like the story was still in the rough draft phase. There were passages that felt like they were being summarized rather than told. The pacing felt off in places and the dialogue didn't really flow cohesively with the story.
Both MCs were great but I personally needed them to be a bit more developed. They were two dimensional and again (I feel like a broken record, sorry!) it felt like we just got a quick rundown of who they are rather than getting to know them through their story.
This definitely has potential but I think it needed a bit more work.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. Whew, Nick and Allison have a deep connection right from the beginning. They had a lot to work out in their relationship but once things started to heat up, there was nothing that could come between them.
While I’m all for a fast, action-packed thrill ride read, this story felt somewhat rushed and left me feeling that there should have been so much more. A lot of areas were covered, such as death, lost love, mistrust, bitchiness, and some wonderful canine cuteness too; but it all felt to hurried. I did like the main characters though and found their depictions to be realistic and relatable. I’m hoping the author will either extend her next story's length, or maybe not try to put so much into fewer pages. Overall, a good read.
Allison is devastated by her fathers death riding the motorcycle he so loved and vows to have nothing to do with another rider until her first crush, Nick, returns on the scene. She puts her misgivings aside as she starts to fall for him slowly starts to explore her attraction to him. Entertaining but ends abruptly, not really a cliffhanger as its not that sort of book but there are obviously follow ups planned. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
