I will start this review by saying I did not read the previous books in this series, so I was constantly trying to fit pieces of the puzzle together. Especially in regards to the relationships of the characters. I would suggest reading the other books before reading this one..... The year IS 1902 and Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza is an all-female show filled with women of extraordinary talent with horses. Ella one of the trick riders is running from a man her father wanted her to marry and she is afraid of him. She finds out that her family, especially her father is not what she always thought him to be. There is mystery, suspense, danger along with romance within these pages. Also faith and learning to forgive and trust........I received a complimentary copy of What Comes My Way by Tracie Peterson from Bethany House via NetGalley, but the opinions stated are all my own.

I met Ella Fleming in the first book of the Brookstone Brides series and followed her story through the second book. So, when I was finally able to read the rest of her story in What Comes My Way by Tracie Peterson, I was really excited. This book had the same great wild west show details that the first two books had. Ella is a trick rider so the emphasis is on trick riding in this book, but there is some sharpshooting too. Although the main character is Ella, so the story focuses on her, the book does continue the stories of the other characters from previous books so it was really fun to see them again. One of the mysteries that was started in the first book is continued into this book which creates some exciting times. I admit that I was a little worried about those involved. I also enjoyed seeing Phillip grow even with the struggles he faced. If you haven't read the first two in the series, I would definitely recommend starting with them since What Comes My Way is a continuation of their plots. This book is superb and I highly recommend it especially for historical fiction lovers.

I just want to preface this with that this is book #3 in the Brookstone Brides series, and they do need to be read in order for the books to make sense. Here are my reviews for books  #1 and book #2.
I loved being back with the characters of this series in this book. It was great to have a conclusion for Lizzy, Mary, and Ella. Each woman had come so far over the course of this series, and it was great to see them grow and develop. This book does focus more heavily on Ella and the problems that she has had with her past. She also has to figure out what is right for her future.

The thing that I struggled with with this book is that it felt rushed, which I feel affected the writing style. There was a lot of telling happening in this story instead of showing. With it being rushed, I feel like the book almost took on too many issues and subplots to make it a solid story.

I would still recommend this series because of the strong, female characters. Also, the Wild West Show setting is so interesting.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from the very beginning. The All Female Wild West Show really intrigued me. I loved the take Tracie took on it.

I loved getting to catch up with the group as they headed back on tour, a meeting some new characters along the way. While I was a tad disappointed that some of the characters hadn’t grown much since the last books, the story was still enjoyable. Not my favorite of the series, but still a nice addition to it.

1902. Jump right back into the drama! This is such a memorable series that you'll have no problem doing so. After all, this is a wild west show, with riding and shooting tricks, and it's all girls. Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza is an all-female show filled with women of extraordinary beauty and bravery. Their families and support staff go along as well, weaving a rich story. There are personal struggles, mystery, danger and breathtaking suspense as they travel the United States and Europe. Lots of wonderful Christian lessons, as Tracie does best, especially forgiveness. Secrets are uncovered, lives are changed. A special group of people, all endearing and easy to be attached to. Excellent read!

I really enjoyed this whole series. I wish wild west shows would be more prevalent today. It was fun to read more about trick riding and trick shooting. I don’t think I could be as still as Chris was when Mary was shooting at things held in his mouth. It was an exciting time in history and Peterson portrays it in a compelling way.
I love closure so I was glad to see that the series finished up well, tying up the loose ends. The mystery of what happened to Mary’s brother was solved. There were big twists and the reality was unthinkably awful. It was nice seeing Philip grow and change.
This was a satisfying conclusion to the Brookstone Brides series. I’d highly recommend it and the series. Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

What Come’s My Way
By Tracie Peterson
I was excited to read the end of the Brookstone Brides series. Although I was eager to discover how this story would end, I felt the story line was repetitive of the previous book in this series. I was also thrown off by the drama of the series. It seemed like there were very large issues happening to the characters but I was not impressed with how they approached each situation. It was an easy to read book and well written but not a favorite.

I was so excited to welcome the Brookstone Troupe (plus meet a few new ones) back into my life!
The troupe is back on tour which, of course, means new adventures and troubles.

I was slightly disappointed some of my favorite characters were not further along in their lives and were still struggling with things I'd thought we'd gotten past in the previous two books.
That being said, I was very pleased with how much Phillip Deshazer changed and grew throughout this story.
In the previous books, and beginning of this one Phillip is a struggling alcoholic with a past he refuses to share. He believes he's unforgivable and that if the people he cares about knew the truth they'd hate him. Fortunately the people he cares about have a heart for Christ and His forgiveness.

I was equally impressed by Ella Fleming's ability to overcome. She's endured a lot of heartache where her family is concerned and in this installment of the Brookstone Brides it may have been worse than ever. We're finally given the answers to questions asked in When You Are Near and Wherever You Go.

What Comes My Way was a delightful tale of forgiveness, family and Faith.

The conclusion to the Brookstone Brides will give readers answers to the secrecy around Emma's family ranch. And the wild west show will have a few surprises to add to the mix. The faith of the characters and their reliance on God throughout the series shines. Recommended!

(4.5 stars) - favorite of the series!

[This is the eagerly awaited conclusion of Tracie Peterson's Brookstone Brides trilogy. While it is capable of standing alone, I do recommend reading the series for a fuller appreciation of the story]

Ella has made her place in the Brookstone show, but her past isn't done with her yet. Phillip's past is haunting him in a different way, but it's making it really hard to quit drinking.

This one is the most action packed and suspenseful of the three & was very exciting. The conclusion wraps everything up satisfactorily & happily. This is one of Tracie Peterson's best series to date!

*Clean romance level: sweet kisses
*Religion: overtly Christian, characters' religious discussions are fairly generic. Non-Christians will likely find it a tad preachy, but excepting those disposed to be annoyed, it's easily skimmed

What Comes My Way is the third installment in the Brookstone brides series. The cover and description of a Wild West show that is all female is what hooked me. I have not read the first two books. I think this book can stand alone as the author gives some background information about the characters so you know a little about the supporting ones. That being said, I would like to know more about them and plan on reading the first two books.
God’s love, His forgiveness and reliance on Him are central themes throughout.
Ella has family issues that are very upsetting to her and remain central to the story. Her tale of family and friends with a romantic interest is very sweet. The western theme with the trick riding and shooting was fun to read about. I would have liked more about that. All in all it was a nice easy read.

What Comes My Way is an excellent story continuing the series Brookstone Brides. Ella Fleming has joined the Brookstone Wild West show to avoid getting married to Jefferson Spiby, and she meets Phillip DeShazer. Of course, they fall in love, but they can't be together until Phillip overcomes his alcoholism. At one point, Jefferson manages to kidnap Ella, and a daring rescue ensues. Another wonderful story from Tracie Peterson!

WHAT COMES MY WAY is the final novel in The Brookstone Brides series by TRACIE PETERSON. It is a most entertaining book, with the Brookstone Wild West Extravaganza and the amazing performers taking centre stage. I love the whole horsey and carnival atmosphere and the unforgettable characters. The author has a really good insight into human nature, and shows us how guilt, rejection and bullying can affect the various people involved, and how prayer and trusting the Lord to change situations and relationships is the only thing that helps.
This is Ella Fleming's story. She has taken Lizzie Brookstone (now DeShazer's) place as the lead trick rider. Having fled from her father's house when she was being virtually held prisoner, and being nearly forced into marrying a wicked, murderous man, she feels very vulnerable.
Wes DeShazer feels responsible for his brother, Phillip's, lapses into heavy drinking. Otherwise a kind and gentle man, Phillip cannot get over feeling responsible for his father's death, which leads to his irresponsible behaviour.
The book is action packed, with a fair amount of suspense. I have read all three novels in the series and I suggest you do so as well, although What Comes My Way can be read as a stand alone.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

What Comes My Way by Tracie Peterson is a wonderful way to end the Brookstone Brides series. I loved hanging out with these characters and watching them change and fall in love by the end of the series. With What Comes My Way, Peterson tied up a lot of loose ends and allowed the predictable romance to follow its path. Even though I knew how the romance would play out, I was still invested each of the characters' lives and couldn't wait to see how the story ended. Not much a spiritual element to the plot, but overall, the characters lived out God' s love in their stories. Organically included in the story. I enjoyed it that way. The plot was wonderfully written, and I really can't wait to buy all three novels and place them on my keeper shelf. I believe anyone who enjoys historical stories should pick up this novel and leave reality for a couple of hours.
