For those of us who identify as highly sensitive and/or empathic, we now have another great resource to add to our bookshelf. Author Judith Orloff offers self-care tips for every day of the year. Most of the things we probably know we "should" do, but Orloff reminds us why it's necessary. Each step is small enough to not be overwhelming but with practice each will help deal with daily overwhelm. I was highlighting my way through this book - I can't offer higher praise than that!
I found a lot of useful information in this book. Sometimes I felt a bit bored, but other than that it was a nice and informative read.
This is a good book for those new to discovering their empathic abilities. I liked this book, but already knew most of the information. However, it would be informational for beginners.
I would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
As a teacher and human being, I always try to be empathetic and the title of this book directly caught my attention! It was devised for me apparently! :)
I could not agree more with the quotation : Nothing is more important than being in the present moment. Fully aware, fully alive." This book is important because we are usually empathetic with others but much less with ourself!
The introduction tells us about self-care and the whole text is divided into the days of the year with a short text to read and ponder as well as an intention to be set every day!
It is a must for whomever is tired, overworked and needs to take care of their body and mind.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thriving as an Empath would be better suited for those who are new to the term or just finding out they are empaths. Having prior knowledge of it myself, this book wasn't relevant to me.
