The Horrors of Fox Hollow Farm was downright creepy! Told from the perspective of paranormal experts, the sad story of the deaths of so many young, innocent men was lightly touched on however this story was mainly about the paranormal activity left behind by those who succumbed on the property.

I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

The Horrors of Fox Hollow Farm details the original criminal investigation of the allegedly murder of eleven men at Fox Hollow Farm in Indiana. The farm to this day is haunted. I love a good ghost story, so this was a good read.

This is part true crime, part paranormal memoir, and tells the story of hauntings at the home of a serial killer that I have never heard of. This was interesting but ultimately fell flat to me.

I enjoyed the first part of this book, but the second half fell apart for me. I just could not get into this book. It was silly in some parts to me. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

This book is scary, creepy, and will keep you up at night! I read it very fast and enjoyed it, even though I was thoroughly scared most of the time reading it. This would be a great read during the spooky season and will not disappoint!

This was an interesting book about Herb Baumeister who murdered many young men at Fox Hollow Farm and the paranomal aftermath at the farm that followed the murders. Even though this was mainly a story about the hauntings, I was impressed by how the author laid the ground work by detailing Herb Baumeister's life and crimes. All in all, it was a very interesting read.

True crime fascinates me, and this book didn't disappoint. Going over details of the, while maintaining respect for the victims made it a truly fascinating and engaging read.

I really wasn't sure what to expect from this book. It was the first book I have read of its kind.
Although I had, like many ,heard of the terrible events of Fox Hallow Farm, I didn't know a huge amount about it.
I found this book hugely informative, and the investigation undertaken fascinating.
The felt the whole book was written in a very respectful way towards the people interviewed, the victims and families involved.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved this book, crazy that it happened in my state. It is very well written and very informative. Even if you know some of the story this book has way more details that you dont know.

This book was very different than what I expected. I entered into it expecting to read a collection of scary encounters, what I got was so much more.

The beginning part of the book is a respectful account of the events that occurred at Fox Hollow Farm. This respectful tone and consideration for the victims is thankfully carried throughout the entire book. The telling of the paranormal events that occurred at the house after those chilling real life horrors are discussed with a certain degree of skepticism and scientific inquiry. This only worked to heighten my enjoyment of the book.

I really enjoyed a great many things about this book. Characters were fleshed out and the plot was well spaced. Some of the secondary storylines could've used a bit more page space but all in all an enjoyable read!

I received an ARC of this from the publisher via Netgalley 8n exchange for an honest review.

I’m not sure about anyone else but I found this particularly hard to read because the version I had was littered with spelling mistakes. It was frustrating to try to piece together words and sentences that were missing most of their parts.
As for the story itself, it was interesting. I’d never heard of the crime but I knew of something similar that happened in Canada years later. Regardless, the murders committed on fox hollow farm were haunting and very creepy.
I liked the way this book was divided up in terms of the factual with details of the family and the crimes involved vs the ghosts, haunting and supernatural elements. It’s really up to the reader to discern what’s real and what’s not and whether or not they believe. There are some weird things, possibly paranormal things still happening but I’m not sure how credible some of the players/witnesses are in this book.
This was just ok for me.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a combination of true crime book and ghost story and it's hard to say which bit was creepier, the parts that are 100% proven (the serial killer targeting gay males in Indiana) or recounting of the haunting of the home where the crimes are supposed to have occurred.

The book starts with the history of the home and the horrors of an alleged serial killer and his crimes. It then goes in to the story of the next owner of the property and finally, into the paranormal investigation of the property by Richard Estep and his team.

I found the entire book utterly fascinating and didn't want to put it down.

I received an uncorrected ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley, and my biggest complaint is that the version I started to read had missing letters that made it annoying/hard to read. I finally borrowed the final version from my library, which didn't have the same issue. That's the only reason it took me so long to finish. I actually read the hard copy version in one sitting.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley!

My apologies for the delay in the review.
Overall, it was a decent read. It was a tad repetitive in some spots. And it read a little more like an informative book about the killings/killer than I expected. I’d read others by the author, but this wasn’t my favorite.

While Richard Estep and Robert Graves have a very accessible writing style, this book seemed to be more a history of the serial murder case than an actual paranormal investigation of the site of the murders. I was highly disappointed in the book and it only received two stars due to the accessible writing of the authors. Enjoyable, but not what I expected.

A perfect read for October. I had heard about Herb Baumeister but I learned so much more by reading this book. I liked the writers approach of focusing on the location. I was impressed that we got to hear from the owner of the home and the victim who got away. There was a little repetition in a few places, other then that would have been a five star read.

***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
I was not as familiar with the serial killer Herb Baumeister and this was an informative look at the horrible things that happened at Fox Hollow Farm. I was intrigued with the ghost story aspect as well.

This was a somewhat interesting read covering the killings at the house and the after effects of potential hauntings. Unfortunately, it wasn't written very well - a lot of unnecessary secondary details, while at the same time not delving deeper into the more interesting elements of the case. Let's just say I'm glad it was a free copy.
(I'm also hoping that the glitch that was leaving out certain letter combinations in the text was fixed before this was published.)

This was certainly an interesting book to say it the least. It has a good flow to it, well researched and has several angles to it. If one likes to read both about serial killers and ghosts, I think this book could be suitable.

This is the story of Fox Hollow Farm where Herb Baumeister would pick up guys in gay bars and take them home and and then kill them. Once he killed them he buried them on the farm or burned their bodies. With all of the killings that have taken place at the location it is no wonder that it is haunted. I had seen several tv shows about the farm but didn't have a lot of history. This book helped fill in the gaps.
Robert Graves with his wife Vicki and their two boys moved onto the farm. The farm was a perfect place for the family with lots of home room and with its own pool. in the basement. Then Vicki started to see a young guy but with no feet. Once they realized the place was haunted some investigators came through and checked things out.
Richard Estep, a paranormal investigator and his team went and twice checked out the farm This is his story with information from Robert Graves.
This book is very informative and very interesting.
