I fell in love with this series after reading this book and decided to read the whole series. Currently I''m on book 5 and have no plans on stopping. This series is a great fun fast and thrilling ride that keeps entertained from beginning to end.

After reading the 13th book in this series, I wanted to see how it all began. The series started with Raphael, someone kidnapped someone that was very important to him. Now he was on a serious mission on finding the culprit and making them pay. To do so he must hire a human, to follow the human trail of suspects, before he can find the mastermind behind the plot.

Raphael  (Vampires In America #1) was fast-paced and highly entertaining as we see what Raphael would do to protect the ones he loves.

While I was reading this book, I didn’t like Raphael. He came off to Alpha if that is even possible. But later I see that him being to Alpha was just his character. So, in a way, his strength was an advantage and a disadvantage. It was a good thing he found a mate that was just as strong. I liked Cynthia’s character right off. She showed guts and fortitude among the vampires.

Raphael (Vampires in America #1) was one of those books that you might find your unable to put down until the very last page is turned. So, after reading now the first and the last book in this series, I determined that this series could be read as a standalone, but to receive the full entertainment value I would read them in order.

A good read, especially if you love vampires, could be a bit cheesy at times, but this is one of the better vampire rapper Mande type books. but it’s all the fun, head strong female, alpha male and chemistry. It’s an entertaining fun read.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Re-read; still 4.5 Stars. This one a was pre-Kindle era Trade PB. Are those still published? Great UF, and a really, really good series; even it evolved from solid UF to gritty, edgy PNR as the series progressed. Note - the current Vampire Wars arc is pulling the series back towards the early UF days.

Great UF series, Be forewarned, however...this is actually a two-parter story with the second book Jabril. The rest of the books are self-contained with some over arching threads continuing through. Fun series, highly recommended.
