This is a book about family secrets

There is a lot of content in this book. However at times it did feel far fetched. The ending was quite melodramatic

A truly engaging and thrilling family drama.

I found the begining a little hard to understand but as the story unfolded it all made sense.

I stayed up to finish this as I couldn't wait to reach the end.

Gripping. I didn't guess the twist and actually thought the story would end a completely different way. I read it all in a day and into the night (who needs sleep?). I want to reread the book to work out where the clues were that I missed and I never usually reread a book. I'll be looking out for more by this author. Recommended.

A book where nothing is as it seems!

A great read with an awful lot of twists and turns and as the title implies many family secrets.

If your after a story that's well balanced with mystery, intrigue, speculation and a good dose of love than this is the one for you. A perfect psychological thriller!

Even though the book was well written I found the ending quite far fetched.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.

Her Sister's Secret by E.V. Seymour is a fast-paced mystery that will keep you engaged from beginning to end.

When Molly's sister Scarlet is killed in a traffic accident, the circumstances of the crash do not sit well with the victim's devastated family members. Some of the details that emerge are not consistent with the sister that Molly knew. Taking it upon herself to dig into her sister's life, Molly unwittingly opens a pandora's box that will shake the entire family to its core. Once revealed, secrets cannot be unlearned, and Molly finds herself in a desperate bid to uncover what really happened to Scarlet on that fateful night.

This is a novel that is full of twists, family secrets, and shocking revelations. I was gripped from the very first page, and look forward to reading more from this author.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Harper Impulse and Killer Reads, and One More Chapter for this ARC.

Her Sister’s Secret by E.V. Seymour
🌟🌟🌟💫

When Molly gets a phone call informing her that her sister has been in a horrible car accident, she just can’t believe it. When it turns out her sister didn’t survive the whole family is wrecked with guilt. As days go on Molly starts to believe that all is not as it seems.... what was her sister hiding, and what really happened on that road?

I enjoyed a lot about this book. The story was very fluid, the chapters were nice and short and the main character was quite likeable. It was a fun fast paced read and great for anyone who enjoys a good crime novel.

I had a very hard time getting into this book. The plot was intriguing but I found the characters hard to relate to. Nate is trying to hide something but does not appear to care about the accident. He wants to bury his head in the sand. I also did not relate to the brother. He did not reach out to his parents after the death and the parents did not reach out to him. I wanted to enjoy the book but couldn’t.

This is my first novel by E V Seymour and it does not disappoint. Molly is on a mission to find out why her sister Scarlet died as she partly blames herself as they had a blazing row before Scarlet died in a road crash. Lots of secrets are thrown up and no one is being honest. Into the mix comes, Lenny, her best friend, Nate, Scarlet's husband, Zach, Molly's brother, Rocco, a new boyfriend and Molly's parents. A brilliant story, just when you think you sussed it, another secret comes to light putting Molly in grave danger as she unravels it all. I will be looking out for more novels from E V Seymour.

Wow. Well I didn’t see that coming!
This book tells if the sudden and rather brutal death of Scarlett in what may be suspicious circumstances. So her sister Molly tries to uncover the truth. And uncovers more than she ever imagined. Because sisters know each other...right? Molly discovers a whole new Scarlett living a life she never knew had happened. Really well written, engaging, challenging and a few shocks in there too. Read it. You’ll be surprised!

I appreciated the opportunity to read this ARC from Netgalley. I started the book and tried to give it a chance but I did not enjoy the writing enough to continue. I have read others' reviews and I seem to be in the minority on my thoughts of this novel. Thank you though for the option of trying to read this novel in advance of publication.

As the title suggest, this is a novel of secrets . . . and secrets and more secrets. The story centers on the three children of the Napier family, which is headed by a retired police officer. When Scarlett — the favored, supposed “perfect” child — is killed in a car accident, the other family members start to become unglued as they each try to deal with their new sudden reality and to adjust to life without Scarlett. Although the police are certain that Scarlett purposefully caused the crash, Molly thinks otherwise. After her brother-in-law Nate makes a comment that gets Molly to suspect that Scarlett may not have been the perfect daughter everyone thought she was, Molly begins delving into investigating what really happened to Scarlett and what she was hiding. Molly’s investigation leads to her discovery of secrets, lies and deception that have long engulfed her family, including affairs, drugs and even police corruption. The more she learns, the more Molly struggles with keeping all these secrets hidden or risk losing her reality and what means the most to her: her family.

Although I found the novel a bit difficult to get into, I enjoyed it. Much goes on in the storyline, which seemed to stretch the imagination too far from time to time. Additionally, some of the dialogue, especially in the last third or so of the novel, seemed overly melodramatic, and I thought portions of the ending came out of nowhere. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this book. It was a pleasant read, which I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller.
