I want to be Jenny Slate’s best friend. Funny and entertaining read! Enjoyed reading this little book of essays so much. They were so amusing. The sandwich dream had me laughing. Just the thought of it! 🤣
This is a quick read and I highly recommend reading it.

I love Jenny Slate, but the book is not appropriate for classroom usage. Either way, this was an excellent read and hilarious,

The title perfectly describes this book. It's at once charming and strange. Ultimately, it was not my cup of tea, but I know several people that will love it. I don't think it's for everyone, but I can see some people being completely obsessed.

Love Jenny Slate and will recommend fans of hers give this a chance as I did, but it just wasn't for me.

Little weirds indeed. I just could not make it through this book. There was very little thread to follow. Just a lot of...weird. Disappointing.

I appreciate having had an opportunity to read and review this book. The appeal of this particular book was not evident to me, and if I cannot file a generally positive review I prefer simply to advise the publisher to that effect and file no review at all.

I wanted desperately to love this book. I love Jenny Slate! However, as beautiful as her writing is sometimes, it felt like she was trying so hard to be literary and unique. It desperately needed an editor’s heavy hand with a red pen. I had to stop reading about a quarter of the way through - Little Weirds was too weird for me.

If you're a fan of Jenny Slate (and who isn't?!) it's impossible to like this book. It was charming, it was very unexpected, and it felt true to what those of us who have followed Jenny Slate's career know about her. I'll definitely be buying a copy of this so I can revisit it and lend it to friends!

Who doesn't love Jenny Slate??? I love her, her writing, this book, and pretty much everything she touches because it's magic. I was not disappointed.

This was a great read that was weird in the best possible way! I never thought I would be reading a book that featured a singing vagina and enjoy it! Seriously, this book is weird!

I don't even know where to begin with. this book. It lies somewhere between poetry and essays. I NEED a physical copy that I can hold close. Each paragraph holds little bits of beauty. Slate writes with such ease, such purity. While some may find the lack of theme frustrating, I found the thought flow soothing, like a dream.

There's something disquieting yet charming about Jenny's thoughts, and they deliver in such a humanistic and personal way. I was a big fan of this one, namely to find an author whose voice often mirrors the one in my own head. Also really funny!

Like many others, I was so excited to have a chance to read this book. I love Jenny Slate and I expected that I'd love her book too. It never quite worked for me, although I gave myself a lot of time to warm up to her writing. Some of the pieces worked for me (listening to a man talk at a party, experiences while she visited Norway) and then so many of the other pieces just didn't land for me. I can't quite put my finger on why they didn't work...they weren't weird, I just didn't connect to them. Still worth a try, though, as it seems like this one did work for many others.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Little, Brown and Company for an opportunity to read a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I don't think I've ever read a book that lives up to the title as well as Little Weirds. This book is a fun, quirky collection of essays and memories that can only at times be described as train-of-thought retelling of childhood events. It contains A LOT of funny and A LOT of weird.
I generally don’t go back and read a book so soon after finishing it, but I might go back and reread some of these stories soon.

I loved this. I love Jenny Slate. This was so ethereal, whimsical, and light. It was nonsensical in the perfect way. I thought this was a really fun collection of essays.

Little Weirds was just not for me. I got about 1/4 of the way through and couldn't see myself finishing this book. I found the narrative to be forced and the stories to be extremely sporadic. Whether this was Slate's intent or not, the writing style didn't vibe very well with my reading preferences. Maybe I will pick it up in the future. I absolutely adored the cover though, as that is what pulled me to the book to begin with!

I loved this so much I laughed so hard. The author is very good at using words. And I absolutely love her sick humor.

I love Jenny Slate.
I DO NOT love this book.
This is not a collection of essays or a memoir style snapshot of Jenny's life story. This book is a rambling stream of conscious that reads like a teen's overwrought diary. These short chapters are merely jumbles of words, loosely tied to a certain topic, but with no point or lesson or impact. I honestly can't fathom someone finding much meaning in these writings.
Thanks to NetGalley for a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my feedback.

Little Weirds is just that. Jenny Slate is definitely not a normal person, and that comes across beautifully in this book. A collection of short essays, the book involves weird dating profiles, the best way to make a sardine sandwich, carrying lemons, and being haunted by a sea captain. Some stories are funny, others are just...well little weirds.

***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Jenny Slate is and will always be hilarious to me. This book made me want to be her friend just to witness her shenanigans and feed off of her energy!
