I haven't read any of K Bromberg's work but will certainly be searching out more

This is fast paced, steamy and intense - who doesn't love an Alpha story ?

A great, strong female pitted against alpha male - makes for a great premise

A great story with a great ending

Loved it !!

Ryker and Vaughn- what a story. I love their chemistry and connection. What a cliffhanger..... K. Bromberg has created more amazing characters. I love Vaughn's complexity and how she is in the situation she is in and what she believes is important in life. Ryker- he is complex but really amazing. I was so drawn to their story. I cannot wait the next book to see where these characters go. I could not put this book down.

I'm a huge fan of Kristy's work and have been for years now. This story was intense, sexy, unique, angsty, and heartbreaking. I liked that we had two alpha leads pitted against each other. It was nice to see them banter, make power plays, and watch their chemistry build and explode. I also liked that this was told in dual POVs since I always love being inside both h/H's head.

Vaughn was interesting. I didn't expect her to be what she was (not revealing it to keep from spoiling anything), yet I was impressed. She was smart, strong, brave, caring, loving, feisty, strong willed, and independent. While at times I felt she resisted a bit too much, I still enjoyed the story.

Ryker is a typical alpha a-hole...at first. He's bossy, demanding, sexy, determined, compassionate, and I really liked seeing his softer side.

While I have my assumptions about why the story ended as it did, I will state that it ends on a cliffy and I have a love/hate relationship with cliffys. LOL All in all, I can't wait for the next book, Reveal, to be released to see if my assumptions are correct! Thank you Kristy for this copy. This is my honest review.

I cannot express how much I love Bromberg's writing. She has such a talent of making the reader feel connected with her characters. This was a sexy, intense, emotional read. I will say this book took me a little longer to get into than most of her books, BUT when it finally got going i could not put it down. I was stealing 1 page reads every chance I got while at work. Ryker was arrogant, sexy, protective, AND good with kids (SWOON). Vaughn is a strong, independent, woman who has been through a lot, and ryker is there to break down her walls.

In typical K. Bromberg fashion, Resist ended in a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for part two to come out!

I have read all of her books. Loved them all! So I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. I loved the characters. Vaughn us a fighter who would do anything for the people she loves, she's relatable and her actions make so much sense after you know her whole story. Rhyker is the perfect book bf. He's gentle and caring but also persistent and calls her out on her bs. And sweet Lucy made my heart melt. I immediately fell in love with her. The book is extremely well written as any of K. Bromberg's books it approaches sensitive subjects with care and respect and a lot ot love (It doesn't skip out on the romantic scenes though 😉). It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. When Brian offered her Lucy in exchange for money I wanted to give him a piece of my mind right alongside Vaughn and cheered her on as she told Priscilla what is what. I read it in a day and can't wait to find out how it continues. I was happy and fully expecting a happy ending only to be blindsided by a cliffhanger at 98%. I can say I did not see it coming I was praying for him to do the "hang loose" sign but to no avail. But great cliffhangers are a sign of a great book and K. Bromberg proved again and again why she is one of my favorite authors.

What the……
*MIND BLOWN*
...FUUUUDGE…..

Seriously, how can you leave us all hanging like that.
I’ve been speechless for the last two days, basically since I finished Resist by K. Bromberg.
This book ends with the holy grail of all freaking cliffhangers. I don’t know what to think. My mind is going everywhere right now. Every single scenario is floating around in my noggin.

About Resist:

Resist is the first book in K. Bromberg’s brand new Wicked Ways series. This novel is told from both Ryker and Vaughn’s point of view.

Vaughn is neck deep in debt and fighting to gain full custody of her niece. All the money in the world can’t make her troubles go away but it can sure try. That’s why Vaughn finds herself building an empire all on her own. An escort empire.

Ryker is a jaded greedy bastard, being a divorce attorney and watching his mother divorce sorry sap after sorry sap will turn a person that way rather quickly. Now his mentality, no connections and no strings. But when he meets a woman that gives him a run for his money and challenges him in a way that’s never been, he knows he needs to keep her close.

My Thoughts:

K. Bromberg brings us another epic tale of romance in the least expected ways. Two jaded souls with two broken hearts connect in this epic tale of fate working its magic.

Vaughn has issues a mile wide and an ocean deep. She not only lost her sister but she’s on the verge of losing her niece if she doesn’t come up with the money to pay her debt and prove to CPS that she can be the guardian her niece needs. I loved Vaughn’s fierce need to protect her niece. My heart broke so much for their situation and the need for stability that goes unoffered day after day. I looked forward to and adored the moments between Lucy and Vaughn. These two are all each other has. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!

Ryker was an anomaly throughout this novel. His hard exterior was nothing compared to the softie he was hiding. I loved this man, even through his slight assholish moments. He felt honest and true, He felt like he was a gift sent straight from god and addressed to Vaughn… But then shit happens and now I’m sitting here confused out of my everloving mind and feeling slightly jaded! That cliffhanger gutted me. ABSOLUTELY GUTTED ME! I don’t know what you’re thinking Bromberg, but i’m hoping like hell you can heal this broken heart soon.

Overall, Resist is the perfect start to what I can predict is going to be an EPIC series! I loved the raw emotion between Vaughn and Lucy and I loved the cutesy moments between Ryker and Lucy. At this moment, I am still grasping for words. I can’t believe the shit that went down. I cannot believe it! I need answers, and I need them now.

Well!
Colour me surprised!
I can't believe i actually forgot how much i loved K Bromberg's writing, its been a good while since i last read one of her books!
Vaughn and Ryker was pretty explosive. Both hot headed and short tempered. I have to admit Vaughn's name keeps throwing me off since I've never read a female with that name but it was a nice change. She was head strong and knew exactly how everything is meant to pan out but with things getting thrown in the works and distractions hows a girl to cope?
Ryker, damn he was a bit of a a'hole but i still loved him anyway. He had the whole alpha thing going for him and he knows what he wants.
I'm absolutely dying for the next one and this one isn't even out yet.
Send cake.

Another good read from this author. I like her writing style and am usually hooked right away. This book took me a bit to get into it but overall I liked it. A good summer beach read.

Sexy, intense, heartbreaking, swoony.

Those are the feelings i have when reading Resist right in that order.

The way Vaughn and Ryker meet, it was sexy and intense.
Then we meet the real Vaugh. Gettting to know her is heartbreaking. She's a lonely fighter with too much guilt on jer shoulder. She won't let her self feel anything for those feelings are weakness she cant have.

Until Ryker

As a vicious divorce lawyer, Ryker only see woman as dime in a dozen. Cheap and easy. Butnwhen he meets Vaughn, she intrigue him first. It was a chalenge at first cause woman dont say no to him. But he got to know her. See who Vaughn really is and the next thing he knows, Vaughn make him feels.

Until danger lurk

Will they fall apart?
Will they stand together?
Will the flight be the answer than fight?

My first read from K Bromber was Driven and love the serie so much, i dont need to read blurb to decide One click for any of her books.

Resist is no different.

The way the author write her story, the chemistry of her characters build, the smart, sexy, deep and realistic dialogue, how the author make me read the whole book in one sitting.... Her story is never as the way it seems. It's always go deeper. It's brilliant!

You ever want to just throat punch your favorite author for destroying your world with the power of their words?! No? Go read this and you’ll be feeling my pain. I have never yelled the word Noooooo so aggressively as I did when I came to the end of Ryker and Vaughn’s story. I love and slightly hate you for this Kristy. 😂

Their tale is by far Top Five of my favorite reads for the year!

I can’t get over the passion, intrigue and rawness.
Absolutely love Vaughn who is surviving in a male driven society and being so headstrong and determined despite all her baggage. She’s sass and wit wrapped in a beautiful, loving package.

Then there’s Ryker, the take no prisoners, overtly confident model for an alpha male. He’s all smooth talk and self assurance. Together they set the pages ablaze. When they fight, it’s hard and rough, but when they love...it’s all passion and desire.

I can’t say a bad thing about this book other than September is too far away. Amazingly well written with how you really see the characters develop and shine in the own rights throughout this book.

Can’t wait for the conclusion!

💕

I love when an author brings power into the story. Power is a delicate balance between people. Some think they have it and want to force it on you. Some people really do have it and know how to use it.

I kind of have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I loved the amazing craftsmanship the author developed putting the story together. On the other hand, the title kept popping back into my head over and over as she kept fighting him and resisting the fact they actually had something positive going. It became frustrating in certain points.

The story is unique and I really appreciate when a female lead is strong and resourceful. He could be a jerk but on the other hand found something intriguing and very sexy in her. Together, you know they could do wonderful things.

But again the title pops into my head. Resist is her mantra and we spend most of the book resisting his advances. And maybe that’s a good thing even though it’s frustrating. Because the ultimate low blow is the freaking cliffhanger.

It’s disturbing. It’s frustrating. It’s exhausting. It’s emotional.

Like I said I have a love-hate relationship with this book. Definite mixed feelings as to whether I can manage to hang on for the next edition. I hate cliffhangers.

Well, I’m hating the author at this exact moment.... she ended this story with a cliff hanger. I would have rated this story as 5 stars otherwise. I hate cliff hangers! Give me the whole story in one book.

I enjoyed these characters. Many things were not as they seemed.
And that ending!
Wow!
Don’t peek!
Let yourself by surprised how this book ends.
Stops.
To be continued.

Honestly, if I were you, I’d wait till the next book comes out before starting this one.
Just my opinion.

Overall, great story which I definitely recommend.

Unbelievable chemistry!
Vaughn is a strong woman...Ryker an arrogant man. Their chemistry is off the charts! Loved the story and the evolution of their relationship. This love story contains both passion and humor. By the end I was left with a gut wrenching twist and heartbreak. Can’t wait for Part 2!
P.S. Thank you K Bromberg for giving Colton Donovan an appearance and I loved Lucy and all the character that she adds.

*WARNING* Cliff Hanger Alert!!!!!!!!!!
That being said I could NOT put this book down. This is only my second book by K. Bromber, and I'm starting to wonder why I haven't devoured her library of books yet! Resist starts out with the ball busting Vee who runs an escort service. When she needs to make a last minute decision about a client, she ends up meeting Ryker and things spiral out of control from there. Both of their worlds are turned upside down. Throw in some past trauma, a special needs niece, and a real piece of work Senator, and you have Resist! I can not wait until Wicked Ways II, I need answers people!

I was given an ARC copy of this book in return for my honest review from Netgalley.

Gosh! I can't  think, I can't even cry. The end was...holy hell I haven't had such a hangover in a very long time. And let me tell you the second book can't come soon enough. That Is For Sure.

Both main characters are strong personalities knowing their wants, needs and expectations. What they didn't know was they could fall in love. Or was it just a pretence?

Vaughn Sanders wasn't aware of the extensity her past's shaped her. The struggle, trust issues, the protectivness of her niece Lucy after her sister's suicide. She wants to gain the guardianship for Lucy while trying to make fast and enough money to get there. She runs an escort company for the rich and famous. She meets Ryker Lockhart, one of the clients, instead of one of her girls. Sparks flying through the air, hotness pure... you can get the image. They are like made for each other but they both are not commitment persons. He as a divorce lawyer serving only men is not one to be in relationship, she needs to sort her life first.

I loved everything about this first instalment in the series. The story was page turner all the way, keeping you excited for more, book you absolutely can't put down. Believe me it was that good.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC to read and review. While I don't like an unsuspected cliffhanger in a book, I enjoyed reading Resist. Vaughn was a strong but easy to sympathise with character. I'm hoping that Ryker has some redeeming when the next book comes out, because I didn't really like him.
All in all, it was a good read and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I've read a few of this author's books and they tend to be a bit of a hit or miss for me! I was intrigued by this book though because of the cover! It's very hot and drew me to the book! I then signed up for the blog tour and received an ARC! After reading this book, I can say that I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting to! I sort of had my own idea as to what could happen in the plot, but the author did a fantastic job with it and it kept me intrigued all the way through! It also developed at the perfect pace and kept me wanting to read on! There were a few seriously hot scenes between the two main characters too! The plot also had two strong characters in it and they did battle against each other to get what they wanted! I loved where the author ended this book too! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Vaughn was the main female character, and in this book she was a busy woman and ran her own business and worked a fulltime job! Vaughn had her reasons for doing all the work she did and I admired her a lot once I found out her background! It showed Vaughn's strength and determination! Vaughn was also a strong character that knew how to get what she wanted, but she also showed a vulnerable side to her as well! Ryker was the main male character and love interest of Vaughn! I felt like I got to know more about Ryker as the plot progressed! He did come across as a bit of an ass at the beginning and then redeemed himself for me and then became a complete ass again at the end! I really hope that he was only saying those things to protect Vaughn, but I guess I'll have to wait to find out lol! Ryker was always surrounded by wealth too and this did mean that he was used to getting what he wanted! Vaughn changed things for him and challenged him! I loved that this book was written from both Vaughn and Ryker's point of views! I wasn't sure if it was going to be because the synopsis gives the impression that it's only going to be written from the female character's point of view, so I'm really happy that it was written from dual point of view! It helped me connect and understand Vaughn and Ryker more and it allowed for more things to happen in the plot, especially as the main characters didn't spend every minute of the plot together and were going through their own situations! I now can't wait to read the next book in this duet! This book was left at a huge cliff-hanger, which I was expecting in a way because I knew that there was going to be a second book! I wasn't expecting the cliff-hanger to be what it was, but it's left me desperate for the next book! The next book doesn't release until September, which is a little bit of a wait, but I'll definitely be reading it as soon as it releases! The cover for this book is also seriously hot! It drew me to the book and made me check out the synopsis! The cover image also suits the chemistry between Vaughn and Ryker and I love it a lot!
